I have problems with last one, though. As password, I tried "speed", "velocity", "orbitalspeed", "orbitalvelocity" and several variants, but so far nothing matches. The number represents average speed, though - maybe it has something to do with it.

Here is the list of potential usernames:
erycina felix libertina libitina obsequens verticordia victrix amica caelestis aurea

Well, the crosschecking is pretty tedious, as you can see, and I can see no hint what epithet should represent industry or robotics.

Anybody wants to try his/her luck?

omg... I am totally reliving the ".thenekodas.com." moment. Also, holding my fingers crossed that they devise better hinting mechanisms for the future! *headdesk*

Great job, lisa! Did you sleep at all?

Defense Tech

NeoVenus Construction first entered the world of defense technology when it developed new body armor for police and military applications nearly 20 years ago. Even today, we at NeoVenus Construction see extreme value in doing everything possible to safe guard the lives of the men and women charged with protecting us and our way of life.

NeoVenus Construction has supplied new armor for vehicles in some of the most hostile theaters of war. We assisted in the design of engines that would not overheat in the deserts of the Middle East nor freeze in the frozen environments of the European Alps. We have developed thermal suits for keeping our soldiers safe from hypothermia and heat exhaustion. Our scientists were key in developing new longer range rifles and more accurate munitions.

Future defense developments include devices meant to deceive the enemy, such as projection systems designed to confuse opposing forces by displaying soldiers in locations that they currently are not.

Our engineers are also researching energy-based weapon systems as well as enhanced armored personnel units for heavy combat.

Too often in defense, a vehicle or device is designed for only one type of situation or climate. We here at NeoVenus Construction feel that the defense dollar should not only buy our men and women in combat the best possible equipment, but also the most versatile and useful systems for accomplishing their mission objectives. That is why we are designing vehicles with customizable accessory mounts. A single vehicle can be used for wartime efforts as well as in peacetime construction and development. The same machine can guard the home front or build a new home!

Medical Tech

NeoVenus Construction now holds over 200 patents in Medical Tech and Bio-Engineering alone. Advancements range from the use of nanotechnology in gene repair treatments to the development of highly advanced artificial limbs and organs.

Recent research has focused on long term space flight and the many hurtles and obstacles it creates. Suspended animation technology is a focus of interest that has made NeoVenus Construction the clear world leader. The systems developed to accomplish this goal also have practical applications in modern life. Imagine slowing down an accident victim's vital systems long enough to be able to safely transport them to a properly equipped emergency care center, or being able to guarantee the viability of an organ for transplantation beyond just a couple of hours!

NeoVenus Construction has always looked at how best to apply futuristic systems and ideas to today's needs. We have found that much of our research in the often far fetched sounding ideas of space travel and terraforming have provided us with great advances to help you in your everyday life.

Terraforming Tech

The Antarctic Terraforming Research Project is a combination solution to the problems posed by inhabiting new worlds. By using the paraterraforming theory to establish human life on the surface of an otherwise inhabitable planet, we can then build and run the Environmental Generators and effectively enhance and grow the domed paraterraforming environment to expand to the actual planet surface outside the dome walls.

While the Antarctic Project has suffered setbacks, the new systems being employed to develop the environment have shown to be extremely stable. We fully expect that the slow growth process will take hold and completely alter a planet's atmosphere once we are able to artificially alter at least 30% of the surface. It is a slow process, but completely achievable. Why not bring an otherwise dead world to life?

Yea, this seems to be a fine example of "seems so easy to me" puzzle. The sheer number of combinations, together with the fact that specific username/password pairs work only on specific pages (though page sources look the same) makes it pretty tough.

If error page was more specific (eg. "wrong username / password"), we'd probably get it much sooner.

Oh yeah. 4 hours. Meetings at work are boring anyway, I'll just sleep through some teleconference or something - I doubt anybody'll notice. Coffee

On the other hand, what now? It doesn't seem that information there is of much use to us...

Simply tried orbit to no avail, orbital, speed etc do not work either.

The exact speed is mean orbital speed.

'fraid I can't just now - company firewall blocks the java client and I don't have my cellphone here to connect directly... I can connect to ICQ, though, if that helps.

I dunno... I played with the images a little - couldn't find anything hidden (visually, I mean) - maybe they are stegged? The coordinates are still pointing to Noe & Henry St. in San Francisco, but that place looks sort of residential to me. Maybe someone in SF could check it out?

I know nothing about the district, however when searching what was near the coordinates, there was a video production studio. The website to this led me to find out the area is called the Duboce Triangle, specifically Castro. Whether this has any bearing or not I'm unsure.

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
username: armata password: radius for Security Op.
It DOES depend where you put the password in. This works only here: http://www.neovenusconstruction.com/de.html
username: genetrix password: mass for medical tech
username: cloacina password: volume for Terraforming. Gee, this one was so OBVIOUS!

HOLLLY CRAP anyone else bashing there heads in the keyboard this was so obvious

One password still remains uncracked, go ahead - it seems that my source of luck has been already depleted! Smile

Well, the only two other epithets I can think of are Anadyomene (that's Boticelli's Venus - the one Alfred linked to, though there isn't really any relation to robotics here...); and Venus de Milo... she could use some robotic arms Mr. Green

As far as the number being the average speed - that's because it's per second. During the year, planets orbit the sun faster and slower depending on which point of the ellipse they're at (the fastest being closest to the sun). So, if you want to state a planet's speed per second without specifying its position, you'd have to state the average speed. The only other synonym to orbital speed/velocity I could think of is "revolution". Needless to say, none of this stuff worked.
