what does .php mean?

PHP is just a different language (.php are files with that extension, like .html are files of hypertext markup language). My knowledge of the subject matter is severely lacking, but I know that php is used in dynamic pages (where you, the person viewing the page, can interact with it): for example, this forum is in php, which allows you to login and post here.

Right -- and php is server-side, like asp, so what you see from this end is a page rendered in HTML.

thanks phaedra. So are you saying we'll know when the login.php goes live when it changes to html?

I'm not sure what you mean...

What I mean by "server-side" is that when your browser opens this page, you see a page in html. But on the server, it's in php. For normal website pages that don't allow anyone but the webmaster to access them, they're usually written in html. But for dynamic pages like forums, blogs, etc., you need an active page that will update without the webmaster actively modifying the page so that the updates show up more or less in real time. So you use a php page, which, when the browsers of people who are looking at the page request the page, the php is translated into an updated HTML page.

Someone who's actually a programmer could probably explain this a lot better -- my experience with php is limited to tinkering with other people's work. Smile

From my point of view, there's no reason to think that the login form is not "live" by now. Yes, the error page looks lame, but still it's deliberately created response, not just some generic error text from webserver.

Thank you... I'm sorry for being so inept, but I don't really have any experience with programming. The sites I used in F!PR required no programming whatsoever... so I don't really know very much regarding the technical aspect of things. I just learned today what BBCode is. I always thought it was related to the British Broadcasting Corporation before...

Sad, isn't it?

The video does very well say Hint Upset Eve. I downloaded it from IGN and got it on the EXACT frame where it's perfectly visible(because I'm a pimp like that haha but no, really).

Just thought I'd confirm that. I'll be keeping tabs on this myself.

[UPDATE] New site - www.antarcticresearch.net

At NeoVenus's Terraforming page:

Quote:
As the primary sponsors of the Antarctic Terraforming Research Project, NeoVenus Construction has successfully proven out the concepts for terraforming new worlds. The research project has been running for nearly 20 years with the last 3 years maintaining a consistent livable environment for the onsite human researchers.

...and link to quite promising site http://www.antarcticresearch.net/

EDIT: Also, it looks like that VENUS EPITHET anagram was the right way to go - Cloacina Station (of "Venus the Purifier") seems to be the main testing station of the Antarctic project. I am still unsure whether this hint should lead us to ATR page - googling for Cloacina doesn't return this page within reasonable range of results.

It seems Alfred may be playing a little game with us...

Found it in the source code of www.alfredalan.com/page2.html

EDITed to add:

I went back to see where exactly in the page that particular quote fell. I'm not sure, but it seems there may be a little puzzle for us. He list's the following anagrams...

Quote:

Punishment = Nine Thumps
Astronomer = Moon Starer
Schoolmaster = The Classroom
Dormitory = Dirty Room
Presbyterian = Best In Prayer
Eleven Plus Two = Twelve Plus One

Then says this...

Quote:

The fascinating and sometimes challenging thing about an anagram is the fact that one word might become two or three

It just made me wonder if possibly one or more of the above anagrams might have a second option which would lead to something more.

Going through the alfredalan site, I stumbled over this site which appears to be in-game. Haven't studied it very closely yet, though.
