I don't know if anyone has noticed yet but the heading for the post on Jan 16th changed. It was:

January 16th - L00king D33p N2 My _ Sol 4 The An2wer.

it is now:

January 16th - L00king D33p N2 My _ S0ul for The An2wer.

That is a pretty deliberate change. If I only knew what to make of it!

He must have and I missed it as well until last night. That changes the numbers in the title. However, the number of numbers is still the same (0033242 -> 0033202). It still means nothing to me! But I am sure it has some significance.

Hmm... you're right, thats an extremely deliberate change. I've tried everything I can think of in the URL... using all the numbers... all the numbers with 16 in front, numbers and capital letters...

Because of the lack of activity, I spent some time playing Lost Planet. Maybe got something, maybe not. Depends on how far they went.

There are target marks that you can get in the game. Each mark contains a letter. All the marks together in a level spell a word related to a weather or geographic event. (side note: there are 11 levels... hahaha! not a surprise I guess).

Anyways, those words are as follows:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
EARTH
STORM
MIRAGE
METEOR
AURORA
THUNDER
TORNADO
VOLCANO
RAINBOW
BLIZZARD
STARDUST

In that order. When you gain the achievement, you get a small emblem in your achievement screen. To signify one emblem from the other, they put the first 2-3 letter of the word in it. They go as follows:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
EA, STO, MI, ME, AU, TH, TO, VO, RA, BL, STA

Could there maybe be an anagram in that letter jumble? Being that the ARG was extended before, I don't know how they could have added such a clue so close to deadline. Just a thought while we deal with the waiting...

I have also been playing with the number thing from Alfred's post, but got nothing. I looked up all information on 1337 I could and am still left with nothing. Sigh...

Hey guys,
I'm new as a poster here, but I have been lurking for a long, long time. I have been following this ARG since the beginning, and wanted to get in on it finally. There is a new post on Alfred Alan's blog, and no one has mentioned it yet, so I thought I would come to the rescue! It may be in response to Argodaemon's spoilered comments above because it looks pretty similar to some to some of it. Also, perhaps the post title is an anagram? I plugged it in to an anagram generator, but I did not look at the results too closely yet.

BTW, I'm loving Lost Planet so far! Smile

i still dont think this game and the actual game are related but who knows. I agree with the topic post being an anagram but its gonna take some work to figure out exactly what it says. As far as the message goes i dont even know where to start its not ROT, and thers no clues in the source code.

Am I missing something? I do not see a change to Alfred's blog?

Really it depends on what you consider "related" to mean. They are set in completely different time frames, so in that respect they are not related. But, in terms of back-story, they are related. The way the story is presented in Lost Planet, it would not really make much sense unless you knew the back-story that is in this ARG. For example,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Wayne has some memory loss, and because of this ARG, we know that the Thermal Regulator/Harmonizer is the reason for it.
And,
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
One of the Eisenburgs makes an appearance.
Anyway, that is my two-cents worth on the subject.

I had the same problem. Try refreshing the page, that worked for me. Wink

I don't think that the ciphor has anything to do with the lost planet achievement stuff. The two letter thing, I think, is to prevent someone from guessing letters and such by counting letters per sentence. Not to completely throw out the idea, though. Just a thought.

I checked all Caeser Ciphor combinations, so unless there is a keyword, that isn't it.

I will try some more things tomorrow...

That worked Jedi_Geek Smile I now see it. To my untrained eye it sure looks like a Playfair Cipher... but it would help if we knew a keyword...

I was giving the Playfair cipher a try and got nothing. I tried the following words as keywords:

:no keyword:, NEOVENUS, NEOVENUSCONSTRUCTION, ALFRED, ALFREDALAN, PINKFLOYD, ARCHAIC, ARCHAICSIZE, ARCHAICSIZEHINT, REIGNOFTERROR, THERMAL, THERMALREGULATOR, SPACEODDITY, DAVIDBOWIE, BOWIE, CHOCOLATE...

I have been using this site to speed up the deciphering.

I think that the subject is also an anagram and that is might then be the keyword(s).

Maybe we're going down the wrong road with the title. Maybe Archaic size IS the hint and now we need to go and find out what he means by it. Not that it helps us much at this very moment.

I just thought of this. There is a piece in the cipher that is "bb" and I don't think that a playfair cipher can do that, can it? Hmmm....

I was just responding to that actually... no it can't have double letters... unless the encoder accidentally didn't set up the cipher right. But if they didn't then I am not sure it is possible to decode it. I guess we should start down another path and see what other ciphers it could be. Also, do you think this will have anything to do with the title of the other blog that is in 1337?
