OK, just had a little chat with Alan on Y!M. Didn't have much time but this is the basics of what I got out of him. Wasn't sure what to ask, so I asked about the jobs and the name of his cat...just for good measure. Never know. Smile

[20:09] velveteenx: Was just looking at the jobs at NEVEC, was considering applying. Looks like an interesting company.
[20:09] alfredalannevec: Interesting is one way to put it certainly. The work is great if not a bit crazy.
[20:10] alfredalannevec: hours are long but the rewards can be amazing
[20:10] velveteenx: I just want the free chocolate bars.
[20:10] alfredalannevec: ah - I see
[20:10] alfredalannevec: chocoholic
[20:10] velveteenx: but seriously, I'm unsure which position would suit me best.
[20:10] alfredalannevec: you may need to find a different pusher to supply that need
[20:12] alfredalannevec: the network is vast
[20:12] velveteenx: I'm not sure where to begin.
[20:13] alfredalannevec: I would just suggest that you look closely at the job postings and find the job that fits your skill set best. But really look them over and make sure it is a good fit[20:14] alfredalannevec: I know that there will be a lot of competition for those four spots.
[20:14] velveteenx: I'll do that. thanks.
[20:14] velveteenx: I can imagine
[20:14] velveteenx: Do you know others going for them?
[20:15] alfredalannevec: It's important to know too that those are jobs that take a lot of commitment. I mean, it's a long way from home if you land the job.
[20:15] alfredalannevec: I have gotten a lot of people asking me about them lately

[20:16] velveteenx: I'll have to thoroughly consider it then. thanks for the info.
[20:16] alfredalannevec: you are quite welcome
[20:17] velveteenx: btw, cute kitty. is it siamese?
[20:18] alfredalannevec: Well... he is a stray but I am pretty sure that he has seal point siamese in him, but when you look closely at his body there are stripes hiding in that fur so he is probably a mix of some sort
[20:18] alfredalannevec: only problem with him is that whole Siamese thing means he is way to smart for his own good;
[20:18] velveteenx: of course. most cats are. what do you call him? aside of a range of swear words when he gets out the bathroom.
[20:20] alfredalannevec: Akemi
[20:20] alfredalannevec: Japanese for Bright Boy

[20:20] velveteenx: cute.
[20:20] alfredalannevec: was thinking Akuma which means something like demon
[20:20] velveteenx: haha
[20:20] alfredalannevec: but I decided to give him the benefit of the doubt
[20:21] velveteenx: wait until he pulls the curtains down.
[20:21] velveteenx: anyway, i need to run. thanks for the chat. i hope you don't mind if i contact you again if I decide to apply for any of those nevec jobs.

Maybe I'm just grasping for straws, but did anyone else notice 'christmas' is misspelled in the latest post.

Also, an anagram of one is neo. Just a thought since there seem to be an awful lot of one's floating around.

I have no idea wth we are supposed to be doing with this game now... Maybe next time someone talks to Alfred they should ask him who the Thermal Regulator dude is? It seems that one of the premises of Lost Planet's story is that the main character, Wayne, was discovered trapped in ice, and when they revived him, it turned out that he lost nearly all of his memory - which is what Alan and the Thermal suit guy describe as a major problem in suspended animation. That guy is hired by NeoVenus Construction - is he the guy that develops the first generation of suits that Wayne wears when he freezes? I don't think Alan would actually answer any of the big game-related questions - I just don't know where we're supposed to be going with all of this stuff that we learned from their sites. Where the heck is the story, you know?

i feel ya i posted the same basic thing on the capcom thread on this but in less words Smile
i suspect since this seems to be an arg done by capcom not a 3rd party that they didnt expect us to get to the point were at this quick. i think there a little behind on where they wanna be in the story line and are stalling. otherwise weve missed something real big and its holding us back

My favorite is this line:

I think that I am going to get him a dictionary for "Chrsitmas" so that he can check spelling and learn word definitions.

By a chance, I do. While Akemi is not a strictly girl's name (there are cases where the gender is not directly implied) - when there's somebody named Akemi, first thing you would think it's a girl.

The boy's name with specified meaning ("bright boy") would be Akahiko or Akihiko ("bright" as in "akemi" + "hiko" is the common way how boy's names would end, with meaning "lad" or "boy")

And yes, akuma is "devil" and in no way it would make anybody's real name Wink

But japanese names are vile beasts and they can be written and read in a zillion absolutely unexpected ways, so nothing's granted...

I have quite the same feeling. There's something we're missing... something with the job opportunities, I'd say. I msgd/emailed Alan and asked him how does somebody actualy apply for the positions, but so far no reply. It's almost like we should discover it ourselves, but it's quite a strange recruitment policy, to give out a recruitment advertisements and provide no way to send applications in...

We've missed something real big. A while back someone posted a message from a guy on the capcom forums, one of the PMs, saying they've given us everything we need to "blow this game wide open," as ARGN said.

By the way, did anyone else think the author of the ARGN article only read the first half of the thread? They didn't mention anything about Alfred, HINT UPSET EVE, or anything that's happened in the last week...

Personally, I think we've probably got the information to log in to the nevec site but we're just looking over something. I've tried a lot of things to no avail. grr.

Also, when chatting ot alfred, he suggested looking closely at the job opportunities to see which suited best. I'm looking them over again for anything we missed...

Sorry, you're right. I messed up, but not "completely." Blowing the game open means to me, making things start to happen more frequently and opening a flood of information. Taking things to the next step is pretty much the same thing...

So anyway, I was looking at the Tourbit Aerospace thing. I don't really remember the animated gif where it says BEYOND TOMORROW being there before... (well I noticed it yesterday, but before that...)

I wasn't really too sure what to make of it until I read about another ARG interpreting an image full of dots as braille. Are those dots back there braille? Can someone read for us?

Also, the Tourbit site now has an animation in the Beyond Tomorrow box. I thought it looked like Braille scrolling across, and I was right. It is translated into "KEEP WATCHING... IT'S COMING!!!" When or what is still a mystery, but a clue nonetheless.
qoute from argodaemon on capcom forums

this is where the capcom was talking about the next step

in case anyone cares the one mainly used and suddenly stickied is
http://ww2.capcom.com/BBS/showthread.php?t=9786

and to go further with that when that capcom guy posted that all that had been talked about in the thread were the webisodes
