"24: Conspiracy" will premiere on British mobile phones in January 2005 thanks to a new pact between the show's US production company 20th Century Fox TV and Vodaphone. Subscribers will get one-minute episodes downloaded to their phones on a weekly basis. Every 60-second episode will also end with a cliffhanger, which could make for some frantic phone viewing.

Plans are underway to distribute "24: Conspiracy" through Verizon Wireless in the United States in 2005.
"Not surprisingly, "24: Conspiracy" won't star Kiefer Sutherland and it won't feature any of the CTU agents familiar to viewers of the Emmy-winning drama. Instead, in the first "mobisode," viewers will meet Martin Kail, a CTU agent entrusted with tracking down Susan Walker, a rogue agent who appears to have murdered a government official.

The thespians signed on for this direct-to-phone venture include Beverly Bryant and Dylan Bruce. Don't bother trying to scratch your head to remember Bryant and Bruce, because
the Internet Movie Database can't find them either.

The premiere of "24: Conspiracy" will coincide with the British premiere of "24" on Sunday, Jan. 30, 2005. The show returns a bit earlier in the States, launching with a two-hour premiere on
Sunday, Jan. 9.

24 spoilers
Spoiler (Rollover to View):

(thefutoncritic.com)
24 (FOX) - Executive producer Joel Surnow confirmed at FOX's session of the TCA's summer press tour that aside from Kiefer Sutherland, virtually the entire cast will not return for its fourth season in January 2005. The move means Dennis Haysbert, James Badge Dale, Elisha Cuthbert, Carlos Bernard and the rest of the cast won't likely make more than a few, if any, appearances as part of the new season. As for specifics (highlight to read), only Geoff Pierson, who played Palmer's Republican rival John Keeler, has been confirmed as returning. He'll take over as the President in the series' universe. In addition, Surnow also revealed Sutherland's Jack Bauer will no longer be working for CTU.

This from the TV Gal on zap2it.com
"When "24" begins in January, Jack will be working for the Secretary of Defense, but every time he gets out, they keep pulling him back in and he'll be back with the gang of CTU soon enough.

from zap2it.com
Season four, FOX reveals, will begin at 7 a.m. and will, once again, take place over the course of a single day. If you want the twists and turns of the season to be entirely fresh, you may want to turn away, but CTU is now run by Erin Driscoll (Alberta Watson), an agent who fired Jack when she took over on the job. Jack is now working for the Secretary of Defense (William Devane) and dating his married daughter (Kim Raver), but after the explosion of a commuter train, Jack finds himself back at CTU.
The fate of the world, it seems, hangs in the balance.

The season also features Nestor Serrano ("The Day After Tomorrow") as Middle Eastern businessman and Oscar nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo ("The House of Sand and Fog") as his wife.

I am very happy about the casting for day 4.

[edit to add Numb3rs][edit to correct 24 and Numb3rs times][edit to add Celebrity Poker Showdown and remove info no longer valid]

LOST rocks! And we're gonna get a back-to-back ABC goodness when Alias returns - but will be on Wed nights after LOST (since Desperate Housewives took over it's Sun night spot).

/me has a few other guilty pleasures: My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss, Survivor, Apprentice, World Poker Tour, etc.

Thanks for the updates, TL!

Oh, sweetie, I'm sure LOST is a wonderful show. Certainlly is popular enough, and for that I'm happy for J.J. Abrams.

The fall season isn't a complete waste, just the worst in recorded history. This is largely due to Alias and 24 being consigned to mid-season. This turns out to be a good thing, however, because they're both scheduled to air uninterrupted.

It's just that reality tv has taken over the airwaves and the scripted programming has been sub-par. As much as I love Without A Trace, it simply hasn't been all that great this season. The high hopes I had for Enterprise haven't panned out yet. Joan of Arcadia is lack-lustre. Even Celebrity Poker Showdown failed to engage due to a consistently poor choice of stars.

I have to believe that mid-season will rescue television.

Oh, I'm 100% with ya on the whole reality TV scourge thing. But hey, what goes up must come down. Even Clear Channel Entertainment, the center of all that is evil and foul in the universe (well, aside from the Disney Corporation) has been taking it on the chin economically, recently. Only time will tell when Mark Burnett's production company bites it next.

And personally, I like LOST even *better* than ALIAS. Woo!

It sounds like it would be a GREAT show! Based on actual events?? All those name stars?? Interrobang?!?!?! C'mon, my skeptical radar is bleeping -- is this not a hoax? Thank goodness it's on CBS and not ABC, which would quickly pull it for burial in the crypt next to "Veritas: The Quest". Oh goddess, it's in IMDB yay!!

Ah, but it's the Friday night 10p kiss of death.
What is the demographic for which it's aimed? What show did it replace? Granted, this sounds better than 'dr. vegas'.....but is there going to be anyone home (aside from myself or my VCR) to watch it?

/me crosses her fingers we don't get too attached before it's cancelled

Ah yes, this is a problem. And it's opposite Battlestar Galactica. My strategy for these shows is to tape them so if they're really good *and* cancelled, I'll still have them. This is going to be tricky.

TL sincerely wishes she'd developed this strategy years ago so she had shows like Cupid on tape.

The preview is pretty good. "Get your own geek." giggle.

The Library Tour is a hoot. I got the mental image of Noah Wylie cleaning up Unicorn droppings off the library floor. And is that morse code we're hearing in the bomb room?
