Sent Jean my video link, here is his reply

Hello to you, Red! I do not know if you have heard of me but I am the One and the Only Jean Moulin! Perhaps you have heard the tales of my heroic deeds? Perhaps you have heard them whisper about my handsome hair? Hmm? Do they say to you that my teeth sparkle? You are a beautiful woman with a beautiful soul to sing this song to Mrs. Paul Foucher! I know she will see the love in you! This is very good. She will see our goodness and give to us this Spoocheeeee piece four! You have given the world such a beautiful gift. You are the One and the Only Red and this love you show will help to take us very far.
I am the One and the Only

[EMAIL] 11/19 - JM wants us to woo Helen
- but don't tell her about Spoocheeeee

konamouse wrote:
Oh my heroic Jean Moulin. You wondrous plan appears to have worked.
Mrs Paul Foucher has seen our singing and told dashcat that she loves
it. What is your next move, oh great and handsome one? You said you
were going to woo her. I wonder if having you fly across the pond to
bless her with your magnificant presence might be a good idea - and
then you are there to retrieve the piece that is in a pink box inside
of Box 1984 (at least, that is what the lawyer has said).
Then we'll put wings on the statue of you on the horse, and make you
even more amazing!

Hugs,
Heather.

Jean Moulin wrote:
Hello to you beautiful Heather! We are all already doing the woo-ing of Mrs. Paul Foucher. Right now she is learning to love again. I look especially handsome when we are all woo-ing together! I feel that you Sammeeeees should talk to her and tell her that you are seeking this Spoocheeeee ceramic piece. I do not believe she knows of Spoocheeeee but you can tell her that we seek this piece of ancient art for a beautiful art project at a University or Museum. You can make it up for her. I would not go to her with the truth. It is not easy for people to believe in Spoocheeeee. She seems frail. I would hate to upset her. Eh? Tell her that you know her husband has one of these rare pieces and could she allow you to have it for this project. And you can say that he wanted you to find it, which is why this piece of paper from the lawyer points the way. Eh? Tell me if you love this idea. I know you Sammeeeees will do the right thing. You are Sammeeeees.

And I am the One and the Only

Okay, so here is my attempt:

Mrs Foucher,

I'd like to introduce myself. I am one of the group who made the
present of your favorite song on
http://sammeeeeesgivelovetoyou.blogspot.com/ yesterday. I heard of
your plight, of your abandonment by the love of your life, how much
you missed your favorite musical (I saw the stage production in Los
Angeles twice and the road version in Salt Lake City). Fantine's song
is quite moving. I was very fortunate my mother took me to the Light
Opera for years. I've seen Phantom, The Wiz, Chorus Line (I was
singing songs from that one for years), Evita, and so many others
growing up.

It seems that Kismet (another musical I saw at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion)
has brought us together. I'm part of a group doing a retrevial
project for a major art museum and today it came to our attention that
a piece of clay may be in your possession by way of your husband.
Your amazing story posted on http://waltzop69no2.blogspot.com/ was
the final key to the mystery of where this particular object might
have gone. I have attached a picture of a similar item that is
already in our vault - but there is another piece that is needed to
complete the exhibit. Our only clue is a "pink box" inside "Box
1984". Would that information ring any bells? Can you share this
information with your attorney, Russell? He may be of help in this
endeavor. He is also welcome to contact me directly if he so desires.

I wish you all the best and look forward to sharing other favorite
musical memories.

Sincerely,
Heather

I know we don't have much time to develop a relationship with Helen and we need to act fast but how on earth do we justufy finding her blog about her husband when we have just met the woman? And asking about anything that has to do with her husband is going to be painful for her. This isn't wooing.

I think I've finally gone ARG crazy because I really don't want to hurt Helen.

dash, you are probably right. I was worried about missing the boat since I was so delicate with Keely regarding the item in Bob's desk and then the third piece - this almost led to Spoocheeeee getting it before we did. So I was just following JM's directions.

If questioned; how else would we have known about her love for Les Miserables if it weren't for her blog. We were researching Paul Foucher and googling for his name led us to her blog with her story. We felt sorry for her and made her a present of the songs. Does that sound like a plausible story?

If Helen says anything to you, you can chalk me up as an overactive grad student. You've done a great job conversing with her. I'll leave well enough alone and not follow-up, you guys take it from here. It's all good.

Ok, last night after reading Kona's post I wrote again to Mrs. Foucher.

Quote:
Dear Mrs. Foucher,

I am so glad you liked the presentation. You are very welcome. It brought a lot of joy to my friends to be able share this song with you. They were very excited about the presentation. May I ask you why this sad song is your favorite? It seems to me that the story of Les Miserables is about second chances and redemption and how another's belief in our inherent goodness can actually help us become good. But Fantine doesn't have anyone who believes in her goodness. Her life is hell. Her child is suffering. Her song is so sad, its full of loss and dreams crushed. I just wondered why this was your favorite song.

I know we have just met but somehow I feel we were destined to meet. It is my favorite song too, after all.

Dashcat

She sent this today
Quote:
My dear Dashcat, I too feel that destiny may be at play with you and I. What a treat it is for me to find a new friend such as you. You could not be more correct about our song. It is very much a song about loss and dreams crushed by life. Before I go any further, I would like to share something with you. I am by no means a writer, but I have written a short story, a sort of biography, about my life. You have been so kind to share this song again with me that I would like for you to know more about me. I have suffered losses similar to Fantine's. You know, when she opens her mouth and sings this song... or when your friends do, the song isn't just a sad reminder of my broken heart, it also tells me that I am not alone. I am not the only one to struggle with this sadness. Perhaps the feeling that we have from this song is not just one of a shared "sadness from life" but it is a shared acknowledgment about how we all struggle along on this human journey? Does that make sense to you, dear Dashcat? To read my story, if you would like to, please go to this address: waltzop69no2.blogspot.com.

I look forward to hearing from you again, dear Dashcat. Perhaps we can have a lovely tea together later today?

Best wishes,
Mrs. Paul Foucher

Ok, so now we have her blog and everything is hunky dory. I like your story of how we found her in the first place Kona. Don't stop writing to her. It was late last night and I just didn't see how we could explain knowing so much about her but the PMs have fixed this problem so...go for it Surprised)

Tea?

I'd like to see how you are going to have tea with her....perhaps a virtual tea across the pond? Enjoy yours at the same time as hers?

Your correspondence is so elegant. I'm more like the bull in the china shop. I like your approach.

[hehehe, notice how addicted I have become, stealing moments at work to check the boards]

[EMAIL] 11/20 Mrs Paul Foucher

I think I got my hand slapped Wink

Mrs Paul Foucher wrote:
My dear Heather,

What a fortunate coincidence it is for you that I, the woman that you so sweetly sang to, might have this piece of clay that you seek for your art project. Although I do appreciate the singing and was deeply touched that you wonderful young people seemed to drop into my life, I suppose this clay is the real reason that you sang to me. I am old, but I am not dumb. Please do not write back to me with grand apologies. It is not needed. I had thought it was strange that you young people came out of nowhere. I did enjoy hearing the song from you and I will not allow the fact that strings were attached to take that away from me. It was truly a delight to hear it sung from your hearts.

As for this box, my husband's attorney in the U.S. sent over 200 boxes to me when they moved Paul into a full care facility outside of Chicago. Russell, the young man that cares for me, will take a look into our storage and see what he can find. I do remember that the boxes are numbered but I don't recall anything that was pink. I will have Russell attend to this immediately.

I wish you the best with this project. If we find this piece of clay, it it yours. I have never been a fan of the ceramic arts.

Best wishes,
Mrs. Paul Foucher

Mrs Foucher,
Yes ma'am, you are correct in many ways. I was googling your husbands
name in my attempt to find him and that is what led to the reading of
your blog. But rather than descending upon you out of the blue, it
was a hope that bringing a little music back into your life my make it
a little nicer. No grand apology. Just the eagerness of a brash and
overeager art lover here.
But I really mean what I say about my enjoyment of musical theatre.
Thank you so much for your understanding of the situation. We only
wish for an ancient art piece to be restored in it's glory.
Sincerely,

Heather

Well yayyy. I was just going to suggest that maybe we should be talking to Russell but I guess we don't need to now.

I wonder if Helen will stop writing now. I sure hope nothing happens to her.

Just got this:

Quote:
My dear Dashcat, A young woman named Heather has already written to me about the piece of clay. I know this is the true reason that you walked into my life so unexpectedly. I can see from your notes to me that you are a kind soul. It has been so nice for me to have you to write to. You know, when you get to a certain age, people stop saying hello. The fact that you came and said "hello", even with a purpose behind it, has been a treat for me.

Russell is a young man that takes care of me. He tends to the sort of things that I cannot. He's like a very nice and well paid nephew. Russell came to me out of the blue. I placed an advertisement for a handy man. It was only to be for a day or so. We got along so nicely that we made it a more lasting relationship.

Let's still have tea together, Dashcat. I love chatting with you. Maybe tomorrow. You can be wherever you are and I will be here. What kind of tea should we have? Do you like Earl Grey? I love Earl Grey with sugar and cream!

You have touched my heart, dear Dashcat. Thank you, young lady, it is such a pleasure to have met you.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Paul Foucher

So, how can a piece in the UK be retrieved (assuming Russell finds it).

Jenna? Jet? Any other UK players? Have any of you contacted Mrs Paul Foucher? Jenna was one who submitted a song. Perhaps dashcat can "introduce" all of the singers?

I'm sending an email to Helen now, I dont mind retrieving it, Nedd hinted that I might have to in his last email to me anyway.

But what I imagine will happen is Russell will send it on to someone, since all the pieces are supposed to be sent to one person.

Either way, I used my extensive knowledge of Les Miserables (read the book once, seen the show twice Laughing ) and emailed;

Quote:
Subject: Do you hear the people sing, lost in the valley of the night?

Dear Helen,

I have been told you have been contacted by several people regarding the song we sung to you, and a clay piece several people are enquiring after.

Firstly, I hope that the song we sung for you filled your heart with love, as Marius filled Cosette's heart, and made her so very happy in Les Miserables. (I too, enjoy it, and have seen the show several times in London, although I have always admired Eponine's struggles over Cosette's).

Also, I have heard your friend Russell, is looking for the clay piece. I live very close to London, and can commute there easily. If he would like any help, or would like to pass it onto someone, I don't mind offering my assistance.

Heres wishing you the best of health, and hoping you may dream many a dream yet.

Jenna.

Looks like I may have my first live event!

Quote:
My sweet dear Jenna,

Thank you so much for the song. I can see you ARE a fan of my favorite musical. You know the struggle of Eponine is also a favorite of mine as well. Cosette, although she has a difficult beginning in life, has a guardian, someone to care for her. Who does Eponine have? I cannot tell you how Fantine's song touches me. To hear it again from you lovely young people was wonderful.

I shall tell Russell that you will be the person to give the piece of clay to. As soon as we find it, I can arrange for Russell to meet you at Covent Gardens. It is a nice, safe public space to meet. You can let Russell know what day and time works for you. I expect Russell home any moment with more information about this box. Russell has found the box 1984. It is not pink. It has a key pad lock and a pink envelope was taped to the side of the box with these words "Call Mr. Alan Johnson 646-205-1615" on the label of the envelope. Russell is bringing this envelope home with him. He told me to tell you and your singing friends that he will place this information on the internet for you. Should I phone Mr. Alan Johnson, Jenna? I wrote to dear Dashcat and Heather but they have not responded. I'm sure my sweet friends are busy with the day. I would like to call him today if needed. Perhaps Mr. Johnson can give us the code we need. Let me know how you young people would like to proceed.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Paul Foucher

I just wrote to Mrs. Foucher and asked her to please not call Mr. Alan Johnson.

Yesterday i wrote to Jean, telling him the piece would be ours soon.

Quote:
Dear Jean,

The lovely Mrs. Foucher has agreed to send us the 4th piece. In the end it was Heather who secured the piece for us. Mrs. Foucher told me she knows we had an ulterior motive for contacting her but she does not seem angry or hurt. I wish there was more we could do for her. You will make sure she is safe from Spoocheeeee won't you?

Thank you Jean,

Dashcat

He replied:

Quote:
Hello to you Dashing Dashcat! It is me! The One and the Only Jean Moulin! This is the most beautiful news we could have! Mrs. Paul Foucher is a true friend to do this for us! Soon we will be posing for our statue! You and I and Enaxor and Jenna on the horses! The wind will be blowing through our hair! Can you see it? And then leading the way with a glimmering sword in her hand will be our Heather! To Heather's left I see Sallyyyyy and Katya and then to Heather's right I see Celina and Red! They are all smiling like the kitty who has the mouse!!!!!

Do not worry, Dashcat, I will do everything to protect Mrs. Paul Foucher! We must get this piece soon to keep Spoocheeeee away from her. Please keep your handsome Jean Moulin up to date with the news. Eh? Thank you, Dashcat.

Me;

Quote:
Dear Mrs Paul Foucher,

Do not worry about calling Mr. Alan Johnson, I don't believe he'll know the code. If we need to ask him anything, there are several people who are already in contact with him. If we manage to find the code, we will let you and Russell know about it.

Also, tell Russell I can meet him at Covent Gardens any time on Saturday to Wednesday (I work of a Thursday and Friday) though I am going to dinner with a few friends on the 26th, so that wouldn't be possible either. I also hope Russell can post any information up that he has found soon.

From Jenna

Her;
Quote:

My sweet dear Jenna,

This is wonderful news that you live near! I will pass this information along to Russell. I am happy not to call this Mr. Johnson. I do dislike conversing with Mr. Foucher's associates. It might become uncomfortable for me due to the fact that Mr. Foucher, I hate to admit, has introduced many of his associates to his mistress and called her his "wife" for all these years.

Russell is working on his "post" for you at the present time. As soon as it is ready, I will write to you nice young singers.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Paul Foucher

The pics are up at Russell's flickr page

From Helen:

Quote:
My dear Dashcat, Russell has placed some photos for you young people onto his "flickr" account. He tells me if you contact him on this account, he will make you a "friend" so that you may view the items from the mystery envelope. Russell is quite taken with all of this and now has it in his mind that Mr. Foucher was a spy. This is nothing but funny if you knew Mr. Paul Foucher. I hope this brings you closer to your goal for your art project.

I take to heart your words about attending the theatre again, Dashcat. I would like to think I have enough courage to step out my front door but I do not. Believe me, I have attempted to journey out on many occasions. As soon as I step within five feet of my entry way, I grow dizzy and fall. Russell tells me I suffer from some sort of anxiety attack. To be honest, Dashcat, I know it is "death" that I fear. When I had a mini-stroke, those five years ago, something snapped inside. It is as if I never contemplated that I would die until that day. How silly am I? I waited until age 85 to suffer a "fear of death". I promise to you, my young new friend, I will work on this fear and try to step outside again.

Thank you for your kind heart and words.

Best wishes,

Mrs. Paul Foucher
