So I wrote to Jean Moulin as instructed by Peeps regarding Betty.
Here is his ever charming reply.

Never has my hair looked so handsome! Back to Betty! Do we know if Mister Abbott injected anything into our Betty? If this is so, than we must stay away. Betty is no more than a puppet for Mister Abbott right now. The code is the one matter that has me thinking, "Hmmm?" Perhaps our Betty is fighting the control of Mister Abbott? His control must be linked to her smoking of the cigarettes. And when you had her stop, he lost some of this control! And now Betty is short circuiting! Her flashes, they sound to me like they may come from her subconscious mind! Does this make some sense, Sallyyyyy? Tada! She is reaching out to you! But we must be careful, Mister Abbott still has most of the control! Our plan is this: We will let our Betty tell us as much as she can with her flashes and then we shall set a trap! I am never more brave or handsome than when I set a trap! We shall send Betty's subconscious a message too. We will agree to meet with her but place it near somewhere that we can see her on a camera! (The trap is we do not go to this place!) Tada! If she comes and we see she is alone then we know we can meet her safely. If someone else comes than we learn that she is still a Spoocheeeee puppet. How does this sound to you, beautiful Sally?
