At the bottom it explains what you get for completing location and legend trials.

I think on the forums it talks about them a bit too. The where-when are the pictures of the family tree and the burden-bring are the family members of the legends done so far, with an image overlaying them which will obviously turn into a big picture once all the images are collected. I think both the where-when pictures are in this thread.

Okay, I get that you get pieces when you complete Location and Legend Trials. What I am specifically asking is - what are the Burden to Bring pieces that have been gotten so far?

From reading Rogi's post, I am under the impression that he has a Burden to Bring piece that I am unaware of.
Rogi wrote:
In case you were all wondering about the fate of the Burden to Bring pieces...
I'm keeping them close to the vest at the moment as:
1) They are in a "Ravelo" folder as opposed to a common folder like the Where When pieces
2)I'm not sure where this game is going from a collaboration vs: competition standpoint.
3) They may be good bargaining chips, later.

All I want to know: is this an additional piece that is not one of the two CP pieces that I know about, that I am linking to below, or am I reading too much into Rogi's post?

CP 1 pass: fud330
CP 2 pass: jupet909

If this is an additional piece - do I have to email Taylor with an answer or is there a way I can get it from the family I am supposed to be a member of? And if this is an additional piece, where specifically am I suppose to read about what these are on the LGFL forums other than this post that simply says 2 photos?

----

One other thing, I'm registering #lawngames on chat-sol if anyone wants to discuss stuff real time, or if any newcomers want to come and ask questions and get caught up with the game.

Sening you a PM, Rowan.
FWIW. After the bad taste that CTW2 left in my mouth, I was really waiting for something different and this game seemed to fit the bill.
It WAS what seemed a good combination of collaboration (The family level) and competition. The latter being an important factor in motivation for the players. We're quickly turning it into nothing more than a puzzle trail which, given the tumbleweeds blowing around in the Timewasters forum, these days can't be a good sign. I like your guide a lot and think it's a wonderful resource for the reasons you and Phaedra mention. I'm curious what you mean when you say the meta part interests you as if you aren't interested in the puzzles or in the interaction requirements the PM designed into the game, there's not a lot left to "do" in this one.

I just hope we're not being too restrictive in our methodologies and squashing creativity by making someone who's not really from this arena conform to nebulous standards not covered in the UF TOS.

And now, I'll have to go back and try to figure out why she launched the way she did

I'm interested in the story Aunt Anna is trying to tell and the way she is trying to tell it. Does that make me any less worthy of seeing W-W & B-B challenge pieces? How many puzzles do I have to solve in order to be put on the magic list of people who get to access? One? Two? Five? Should I be apologetic that I haven't done more for the game because I was busy over Thanksgiving and that I don't live in SoCal or that I don't like emailing from work since I can't access my ARG only email account (thus really putting damper on emailing Taylor)? Really, what more does one have to do in order to be one of the 'in-crowd' that has access to this stuff?

If it's just a matter of having to email Taylor, than just tell me that. I'll do it. I'll do it for everyone who doesn't want to. I'll do it for everyone who doesn't want to feel as absolutely fustrated as I do now.

It has been said a lot that Aunt Anna only wants family members who play the game and do the trials to see everything Cool

I think Rogi didnt realise that the burden-bring and where-when pieces he collected are exactly the same as the other families ones, the password is always the same, only the family name for the un changes. So we all have access to them, just ask a family member for the link if dont know it (I cant remember off the top of my head).

I haven't heard anything from any of the 'family' members in quite a few days, but I have some PW's.

Legend 1 PW: proop32

Lottery Numbers PW: jupet909

http://www.lawngamesforlife.com/Challenge_Pieces/Bring/Williams_Freemont/2/b2b_02.jpg PW: bupe98

I didn't know who was still actively playing or not... that's everything I have, and if you have the answer for the Bast Trial, did you email the solve in on behalf of the family?

(that last url is being snarky, sorry)

Well, no one's forcing the PM to do anything, and it has nothing to do with the UF TOS.

What it does have to do with is the fact that PMs can't force people not to share information as widely as they want to. It's not about UF. It's just about the way the internet works.

If there's enough interest in the game, UF could disappear tomorrow and people would just find another way to share it.

Yeah. I knew I shouldn't have brought the TOS into it. Was just trying to point out that there are no real rules around the sharing or lack thereof.

Due to our "input", she's already changed how she distributes the information and (again, I wish I had an archive copy of the site) changed the rules posted. So I'd say that, we are, in effect, forcing her to do something differently than how she'd originally conceived.

Yes. It appears WE DO NEED TO EMAIL TAYLOR OUR SOLVES!

Welcome to the wonderful world of running an ARG. <shrug>

Rowan,

I think your walkthrough is great! It will help people who come into the game at a later time.

I nicely openly expressed my concern about the division of families on the LGFL board. It is the only issue I have with this game. Thank you for finding a way to make it easier for all of us & new people to come.

We have a new Lore & a new Legend trial available.

Yes as stated above, each player needs to mail in their answer (or communicate with the family member who does) to get any passwords.

From whaqt I understand, the Burden to Bring challenge pieces are something we will literally have to bring to St. Augustine to do the final solve for the Fountain of Truth. [SPEC] It may be that these same pictures are available somewhere in St. Augustine & there is information where they are displayed that will be necessary to get to the ultimate location.

The Where When pieces give us information to figure out exactly where in St. Augustine we have to be and when we have to be there to get the Fountain of Truth.

I have a feeling that December 22nd will be a major live event day for anyone who makes it to St. Augustine, with more than 1 place to visit to get to the 'prize'

Just FYI, since I moved this thread to the Potentials forum, feel free to create more threads for this game if needed. Please use [LGFL] as a prefix tag to distinguish it from any of the threads on other games in here.

Just some random stuff to bounce around.
The bird was probably the cactus wren. Arizona's state bird.
Tha Saguaro blossom is the state flower.
February 12 is the day talked about on the postcard (the date the ranch burned in 2004) and the date Arizona became a state in 1812

Superstition(s) can be plural or singular.
