[DESCRY] IRC Chat 12/5/06 Okay guys and gals, I was able to attend the 10 AM EST chat with Gabriel. I had planned to make a transcript of some of the stuff...but something really weird happened. The IRC chat thing shut down all by itself, for both me and Gabe, so most of the information was lost. Basically, he mentioned how Eva was missing, and we had to start RUMI anyway. Then he heard a noise and found out it was Raphael. Raphael said the dreams he was having were the past memories of the man that appeared in the first chat in November. Raphael dragged Gabe into a deeper part of the room where Eva was lying. A 'street person' was also there and his name was Tom. Tom explained that the 5th dimensional energy was doing something to Eva...and someone was returning as death to destroy the 5th dimension...I think...that's when the chat shut down.
I've managed to save a pic of the short chat we had when we both logged back on. It doesn't have much info, but it does say what we have to do. We have until 7 EST tonight to free Eva and send the 5th dimensional beings back home.

Gabe, Raphael, and Tom will be there for most of the day if you have any questions, and start working on the RUMI puzzles at http://descry.us/RUMI/. There's four different ones (the one with the bug is pretty cool, but I just keep going back and forth from place to place).
Now I can study for by Biology test...ha ha.

OK. guess we should pool resources for these?
Hobbididance
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
lava lamp > Walker (although it doesn't seem to matter what I put...)
Blohn + Voss > ?
Flibbertigibbet, Mahu & Modo: none have any clues other than the name and the URL which tie in with the quote below
The names seem to be the names of the fiends that possessed Poor Tom in King Lear, sound familiar? yeah, except there's 5 of them...
Quote:
Poor Tom hath been scared out of his good wits: bless thee, good man's son, from the foul fiend! Five fiends have been in poor Tom at once; of lust, as Obidicut; Hobbididance, prince of dumbness; Mahu, of stealing; Modo, of murder; and Flibbertigibbet, of mopping and mowing; who since possesses chambermaids and waiting-women. So, bless thee, master

My second question was, "How long does it take light to travel one fermi?"
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The answer: "A jiffy."

I've tried that for the second question, along with variations of it, but keep getting sent back to the start.

that worked, kinda, I got an answer saying "that's right, but being right isn't everything" and no movement.

Something similar happened to me with my third question.
Q: "Who was the first US casualty in the Korean War?"
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
There are, I think, two answers:
1) Kenneth Shadrick (first reported casualty- this one yields the "being right isn't everything" response.)
2) "Who knows?" or something similar, as there are reports that the first American casualty in Korea was an unidentified GI working with the 24th Infantry Division in either B Company or Headquarters Company.

I got this also when I moved to a different square. I don't seem to be getting any further though.
Are you also getting the symbolique talking?

I've just noticed some text in the top right of the square..I can only make out the ending which is who was he?
I reckon the whole bug/ maze thing is a decoy, and this is the real question - can anyone make it out?

Zooming in does help a bit - still working on it!
It looks like the questions as BV 138? is part of it. The questions all written on top of each other.

Okay, I've done what I can to capture and enhance the text in question.
Some of it's garbled, and the only thing that's really clear is "Who was he?"
EDIT: Added new version - composite of zoomed-in screenshots.

The talking in the beginning of it say "We are inside the house named Eva" Wonder if that is significant.

...asivac. first? who is he?
It might just be because I'm tired, but I think this is the most annoying puzzle ever, the fading, and moving lines are really doing my head in! and at the rate we are going Eva's a goner...
