11/25 Mapmaker's Package from Peeps Woohoo! I got my package today, and it's pretty cool. I got the t-shirt, which I might be able to fit into. It gives me an incentive to diet, right?
Anyway, aside from that, the only thing of interest was the inserted pink paper with taped-on words. (I checked the envelopes and wrapping for messages, don't worry.)
So here's what I got!

Yep, the "History of Beverly Hills" is here .
The other lines are from the beginning of A Clockwork Orange , as you can see here .
EDIT: Actually, mapmaker found a better source of the text from the book that matches what is on the package better: http://www.kirjasto.sci.fi/burgess.htm

So, what does Clockwork Orange and Dalton Trumbo have in common?????
I found this:
Quote:
[Stanley Kubrick] wanted to take credit for Dalton Trumbo's screenplay for Spartacus (1960) since Trumbo was blacklisted at the time. Orginally Trumbo was going to use the alias Sam Jackson but so many people knew about him and his alias that they had to figure something else out. Upset at Kubrick's desire to take credit for someone elses work, Kirk Douglas opted to simply credit Trumbo himself. This ended the blacklist.
And "Spartacus" was directed by Kubrick.
All roads continue to lead to "Spartacus".

A message from TM Hushmail Q/A: First line of It's A Wonderful Life
TM wrote:
Did you receive your document concerning "Beverly Hills" yet? This was left by Dwin. I don't know much about what Dwin had in mind but I do know it leads somewhere and has something to do with Dalton Trumbo. If you have any questions, please let me know. I will help you if I can.

TM,
We're having some problems interpreting what we are supposed to takefrom the message Peeps sent me. Interspersed between excerpts of the
History of Beverly Hills are the first lines of A Clockwork Orange, up until
"a flip dark chill winter bastard though dry".
We know Dalton Trumbo is a writer, immersed in the immortal history of
Hollywood and Beverly Hills. We've seen connections to films of yore, and
we know that the history of Spxxcheeeee bears some resemblance to
Spartacus, directed by Stanley Kubrick (of A Clockwork Orange fame) and
written by Dalton Trumbo.

When looking at this "message", I would consider the source. The source of this "message" is young "Dwin". I don't know exactly what Dwin had in mind when he left this behind, but it sounds like he may have been attempting to create two messages in one. I would follow one at a time. Dwin looks up to Peeps and Higgs. I'm sure he was trying to imitate their codes and clue style with this. He may prove to be very difficult to understand. Can you or one of the Sammeeeees get in touch with Ben and ask him to speak with Dwin about his "messages" for piece five? Hopefully he can put us onto the right path. We must remember he is a boy of fourteen. I apologize for not being more help. Please let me know if you hear from Dwin.
Well, I guess this isn't a message, but is instead a "message".

I tried to get to Dwin through Ben (via Happy). But his visit today was cancelled, it seems.

Patricia Moore did not take us today. Mister Abbott showed up at the last minute and we couldn't go.
Now I'm trying via Cathy.

Ive been thinking about this guys, and sorry if its been discussed in chat or not, but the mention of Dwin trying to work clues like Higgs and Peeps got me thinking.
The pictures that you recieved from Dwin in your package Map, are there any clues within the pictures themselves?
Does anything look "off" in the pictures?

I got an email from TM with a message passed from Dwin to Happy to Patricia Moore.
Tallman wrote:
Patricia Moore just met with Happy Rogers and sends the following
"message" on from Dwin to you and the Sammeeeees:
"It is always FIRST LINE OF. Follow FIRST LINE OF correctly and you

to emphasize the "first line of".
I am here if you need me.

Anyways, yesterday in chat we were discussing that Mapmaker's document contained the "first line of" a clockwork orange. I know Dante tried several first lines to movies to find the next blog. What we had to do was add "firstlineof" to the movie title to find the next blog.

In the final blog source for The Apartment is a message in base64 which decodes to

THE ONLY WAY TO GET SPOOCHEEEEE PIECE FIVE IS TO GET CLOSE TO DALTON TRUMBO. HE PRETENDS TO BE MANY MANY THINGS TO SPOOCHEEEEE BUT UNDER IT ALL HE IS AND ALWAYS HAS BEEN A SPOOCHEEEEE COMMUNIST. HE HOPES TO USE THE DISC AS A TOOL TO TURN THE LAND OF SPOOCHEEEEE INTO SOME KIND OF COMMUNAL UTOPIAN DALTON TRUMBO DREAM WORLD. CONVINCE HIM THAT THE SAMMEEEEES ARE HIS COMRADES. THIS IS THE ONLY WAY TO GET CLOSE ENOUGH TO HIM TO GET HIM TO REVEAL ANYTHING ABOUT THE LOCATION OF PIECE FIVE. THE ONLY INFORMATION I HAVE FOUND ABOUT ITS LOCATION IS THAT IT IS SOMEHOW LINKED TO THE APARTMENT IN BEVERLY HILLS WHERE THE SPOOCHEEEEE COMMUNISTS MEET. TO GET CLOSER TO TRUMBO AND HIS COMMUNIST COMRADES YOU WILL NEED TO KNOW THE SPOOCHEEEEE COMMUNIST MOTTO. FIND THIS AND YOU ARE HALF WAY TO THE PIECE.

I got a mail from Tall Mann too. I have no idea what the answer is, though.
Quote:
Question: name the movie that has this line "But ya AAH Blanche, ya AAH in that chair!"
I thought it was Whatever Happened to Baby Jane, but apparently that's wrong..
