OK, I got a private YouTube video from Alex in response to giving him a hint about Chris' nefarious misdeeds. It's a surveillance video of Phil giving Adam *something* (a hard drive?), Adam checking it on his computer, and then giving a large folio to Phil. Oh, and they're in a restaurant in Mexico.

The first timestamp says 2/8/07 10:13PM. There is 50 seconds of video followed by about 1 minute of black screen. Then, the timestamp reads 2/9/07 10:35.

I'll see what I can do about getting the YouTube video so you guys can see it. I'm not entirely sure how to go about that, so it may take a bit.

I would ask that you don't confront Alex or anybody about this unless I contact you in game...it could get awkward explaining.

Yea, i've been in contact with Alex over the past week and he gave me the same video.

It is indeed a hard drive, and i just heard back from Adam today that it's the hard drive to Brackins Computer.

also, Alex doesn't know "why Phil would trade it for a book," baffled that "the fat bastard can even read."

again, and same as notgord, don't go talking to alex. He said he's gonna stay out of the system for his own safety right now.

Sorry if the answer to this question is obvious but I am extremely new to all this. Are the videos that someone finds on youtube IG or OOG? I am trying to catch up as quickly as I can but I don't want to abuse anything OOG in the process.

Feel free to use and abuse this in any way possible. In general (unless the person explicitly says otherwise in their post), consider any information posted on the forums up for public use and abuse.

If you're involving the name of another player explicitly, it's polite to check in with them first. But for a lot of stuff (like this) where it's information you could have just as easily found out on your own, feel free to act like you found it out on your own.

Sorry that's a kind of non-answer, but I still haven't seen a general consensus among posters here and luckily so far it's sort of been a non-issue. It's a very good question, and I'd be very interested in knowing the answer myself. As for me, consider myself a Chatty Cathy--anything I write here is considered juicy gossip I spill at the slightest inclination.

Thanks. I was hoping it was IG because I found it on my own and it is "2007" and if someone had put up something on myspace or youtube I was hoping that it was fair game. I am hoping these sites might lead me to more info ingame because it's kinda hard when you are coming in so late and you read the forums and know alot of the back story but "YOU don't know the back story" so you have to play by the rules and get someone to get you to where everyone else was four months ago to pick up information you already know to begin with. (I hope that made sense). At this point, basically all "I" know is foo's blog, deus city's website, and both of Bracken's blogs. I have not sent anything to Phil or Alex yet and they haven't been on for a long while on their youtube accounts but I was thinking I would send them a message there to hopefully gain contact. Couldn't hurt to try, I guess. Oh, and I am sure that I am doing a huge trout move here (I think that's the right terminology) and probably not on the right forum but did anyone notice that phil's youtube account is "goldenfilmore?" I kinda reminded me of that folio thingy-ma-bob. (Sorry for the conversation explosion on my side, just kinda excited I guess)

Ah, I see the confusion.

Yeah, anything on Adam, Foo, Phil, or Alex's YouTube accounts are very much in-game. And yes, the Second Folio is pretty much definitely referring to Phil--when I talked with him earlier, Alex even remarked that it seemed a pretty apt description of the guy.

As a good resource for in-game dirt you can use, Casey (WangGuantao) was keeping an IG blog for a while...anything you read there is fair game for use and abuse (he responded to a couple of Adam's blog entries on the Nostredame account, so it's easily discoverable).

ive found the best way to get caught up was to respond to peoples posts in the forums with a pm asking them to explain. the arg community seems to be alot friendlier and more willing to help than most online communities so dont be afraid to ask people for help, as long as you do it in an IG way.

I'm a bit new to this whole ARG thing and these posts are kind of old, but you're still looking for Phil, right? If I can help, it'd be greatly appreciated if someone could give me a lead to investigate.

Or am I going about this in all the wrong ways? Gah...
