Thanks. Except for #9, I think I've got it.

You might want to take a really close look at The Reindeer Games Blog, although I still haven't found the puzzle!

the key is the 'key'... as in, an encryption that uses a key for a solve

easily google-able so I leave that to you.

Only problem is, this apparently involves a kids book. one that we'll have to go and actually find, most likely. This is pretty impossible for me as an English speaker in a non-English speaking country. Kids book don't come untranslated. Mailed snowball and asked...but fingers crossed i can still do it.

Where did you find the clue to password for the forum? I have been looking everywhere, and haven't had an email, I am totally stuck.

Did you get puzzle 4 correct? snwball emailed the p/w out to those who completed puzzle 4. If you finished it, mail snowball.

EDIT: Update from snowball, he says I'll struggle with this being in a non-english speaking country. If anyone else is in the same position, I suggest dropping snowball a mail!

have you figured out the book?

There are many kid's books out there, so I would assume that the code would somehow point towards a book... the two would be related. So I wouldn't ignore the code until we find the book, but rather the code might help us find the book, from which we can determine the solution with the codes.
Unless of course the code isn't specific to that book, in which case the code could be applied to any book, and we have no idea what book to use at all - except that it's a kid's book. Which seems kind of a ridiculously vague lead.
Ok that was confusing Razz

So IMO 1) the code is specific to the book (so the code used is itself a clue to the book) or 2) we're missing a clue somewhere for which book to use

If you have made it to the actual puzzle, you already have all the information you need, except the words from the book

And, yes Bruce, I figured out the book, called my local library & the librarian actually grabbed the book and gave me the necessary words. Already sent in my answer.

Plus I partnered with enaxor in figuring out everything

I did get 4 right, but for some reason the email took 1 hour to get to me! Finally have it and am cracking on though.

Think I know the book, but libraries all closed here (in UK). Roll on tomorrow......
