used edits on Herodotus wiki articles to point the reader towards steganography. However, that's pretty useless now that we've found the stegged image.

I tried rotting the text you got, RedHatty, but nothing stuck out.
Did Herodotus have any ciphers attributed to him?

We are thinking this is double/triple encryption due to this in the reply

This test will take you through 1667 years of puzzle in time. You must start with Herodotus
So we have destegged, so next may be atbash (ceasar) cipher, then Vig??? Not sure, playing with it

i say the easy way for us to do this is send special ninja spysect on a mission to recover the skull from the museum he lives near.
Spysect your mission is dangerous and considered impossible should u be discoverd unfiction will disavow any knowledge of your actions. This message will self destruct in 5 seconds

Hmm what haven't we found - maybe something hidden in the pic like before with the zip codes in Onixskull's puzzle?

Missy has a new blog entry:

I can't follow along
Well,I have been trying to follow this last puzzle. I had to google steganography just to figure out what has been going on. I still don't really understand it. But, I know you guys are smart enough to figure it out. By the way has anyone checked the other pictures for hidden messages. You guys probably already did but I was just asking.
If only I could talk to them, then maybe I could help you guys out more.
So has anyone checked the other pictures too?

So can someone (Sylvia?) share with me the software used for destegging? I couldn't find one that was working - or that I could understand how to use.

Drink More Ovaltine The other two pictures are also stegged.
The clocktower one:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The password is "big ben" It contains the text: Good now that you have found this we can move on. The other pictures have hidden messages as well.
The 1936.jpg picture is much more interesting.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
The password is "museum".
The hidden file is an image containing the following text:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
"You will
need this
http://www.radioarchives.org/annie/ "
I don't have the time to make it, but it seems like that's the decoder we need to solve the number puzzle.
It is also interesting to note the year on top of the badge: 1936.

If I use Annie's decoder ring (Drink Ovaltine!), I get:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
HERODOTUSRECO
RDWSINGSTEG
ANOGRAPHYTWI
CEWHATDIDHEUSE
which I think is supposed to be:
HERODOTUS RECORD USING STEGANOGRAPHY TWICE WHAT DID HE USE?
