I need some guidance

Rather than putting these in a string of separate quotes I have merged my conversation with Eddie in to one quote. The asterisks separate the emails.

Quote:

Eddie,

Hi. Word is spreading about these videos and I would like to help too. I had
a couple of questions if that is okay with you.

-Is there anything written on the disk? I see on the underside there that
there are some markings, presumably from the manufacturer.

-Was there anything at all that stood out about the box? Did it have
markings from the manufacturer, or maybe a company's logo? Are there any
other marks on it?

-The second video, was that also on the same disc as the first and you
released it later or did you receive it separately? If you did receive
separately how was it packaged?

-Have you asked anyone in your building if they have seen anyone leaving
packages for you?

-And finally, have you considered setting up your camera somewhere hidden to
see if you can't catch this delivery person leaving you the next package if
one is to come?

Thanks for your help Eddie, I only hope that I can return the favor with
providing you assistance of my own.

Vale,

Layloken

Adam? Vale?,

Are you seriously NCIS?
i'm not sure i want this level of involvement

eddie

Eddie,

I just wanted to reassure you. The nature of my involvement will not be professional. Just think of me as an interested person, with the potential for a few more resources because of my background. If you could please reconsider excluding me, I would still like to help you.

Vale is a Latin word, it means "be well." It is a traditional term that the Romans would use to close their letters. And please call me Layloken, Adam is not the name that I go by.

I look forward to your response.

Vale,

Layloken

is that you posting at lonelygirl15?

eddie

*************************************************************
I was posting on LG15 under the name Layloken. I occasionally use the traditional spelling of Lailoken, but not often. The Lailoken from California on LG15 isn't me. I'm the one from Washington DC.

Layloken

i may have a job for you

eddie

I'm at your service.

thanks Layloken,

i'm starting to get some pressure (never mind where it's coming from for now)

i think if i can get the LG15 crowd to look at BristelGoodman.com then maybe
i can buy some time for the people in the 2nd video

what do you think? what could you say to them?

eddie

I do work for NCIS and I sent the original email from my work account. Also Adam is my real name. Just to clarify that.

Okay.

I was wondering if posting on a forum for another ARG for this one is an acceptable thing to do? I'm semi new to this so I was wondering if that is the wrong way to go about this sort of thing. Please let me know so I can act accordingly. I don't want to rub anyone the wrong way.

I dont know if i like the fact they are trying to push it to the LG15 stuff. Rolling Eyes

Also knowing the players involved with LG15 they will not approve of the "images" involved in these videos, they didnt like the CiW stuff so they certainly will not approve of this.
Knowing the mods on the LG15 forums, they will not let any of this go through unless it is directly related to the LG15 story/characters.

So the chance of being able to "push" it to them is slim anyway.

I don't really care for the idea of advertising on LG15 either, but I guess it is because of his desire for as broad a dissemination as possible. I don't mind attempting it though I don't see the gain and I question if it is bad form.

Should I try it?

It's a form of spamming

He wants a bigger audience so he is asking you to shill his game to the LG15 crowd.

Quasi poor form. Leaves a little bit of a bad taste in my mouth.

I think that's a bit sketch as well, to pretty much tell us we need to get more people involved in this before anything will start to happen. I'm post on the video links that he sent out, but I probably won't visit the LG15 community.

Hmmm... I would agree with this. Seems very "shilly".

Thanks for the advice everyone. I hope I didn't step out of character with my response to him. Here it is:

Quote:
Eddie,

I've been thinking about your request. I feel like you have already cast a large net in trying to bring people in. I don't know if resorting to spam to further your distribution is the best way to gain credibility with your audience. I unfortunately will be unable to post on your behalf on the LG15 forum. This was attempted previously with CassieIsWatching and did not result well.

In the meantime, I will continue to think of a way to expand your viewers. I am eager to assist you and if there is anything I can do to help please let me know. I will contact you again if I can find any way to spread the word.

Also, have you looked at the questions I listed below? I feel like a large following will benefit you, but also looking beyond the number of viewers and more at the reasons behind it all may produce a better result.

Vale,

Layloken

That's paramount to seeing an amazing movie trailer, getting to the theater, and being told that you have to sign up for premium life insurance (and perhaps sign up for a property share) before you are allowed to watch the film...

Too bad, I was impressed with the videography and editing...

Bah. 6 PM and the anotherzone.com site is still "down for maintenance."

These things can be frustrating when you only have internet in the office, haha.

Just for the record, this could be a blind trail. It was ONE possibility.

Yep, dead end unfortunately - "Kind Dragon Ltd" has over 5,000 sites, most of which are currently "down until monday". Namerservers are "Weekend Cash" (ns*.weekendcash.com), and the majority of domains are listed for auction/sale.

I think this one's closed until it reaches a "niche" and now solicited audience. I'll still lurk in hopes that it finds that audience, but that's about it.

At work so don't have time to check out the change in e-mail/name that it was sent from to be able to determine if it's in-game or an error from the PM.

www.bristelgoodman.com changed today. Same content, new site. Put some of the emails he's been receiving online.

Potentially something in the background. There is a piece of legal notebook paper with bleed through from the previous page... will try to reassemble the dots.

editted:

More news. Eddie has a myspace page it looks like at: http://www.myspace.com/marshallcallaway at least that sure looks like him.

Someone on MySpace by the name of City Hik Chik Nik (http://www.myspace.com/cityhicknik) keeps leaving www.bristelgoodman.com quotes in everyone's comments (including Marshall's above).

editted so that someone following along doesn't contact. Marshallcallaway is not Eddie.

Not Eddie... although strangely enough, you are the fourth person to ask me in the past 24 hours...

You look like Eddie at bristelgoodman.com.

Do you know these people?

it looks to me like a draft of the time line on the page we can see.
