[b]Email Phyllis, Wes is a Father, Pine Barrens, Ring of 7

Dear Sunny,
I don't know how to tell you everything that happened this afternoon except to start from the beginning. As arranged, Iris and I drove over to the EOTW at 3pm to find Wes waiting for us on the sidewalk outside. He hopped in the back seat and sat forward between us, grinning like a fool, and saying, "Howdy, ladies!" Then, he immediately began to tease me for being dressed in jeans and asked how it felt to be slumming with the common folk. I blushed furiously and stammered, "Really!" But, Iris, bless
her heart, came to my defense and told him to knock it off, I'm a "okay person."

He started giving us directions and Iris nailed him, saying, "Are you taking us to the Rod and Gun Club or the REAL site?" I had no idea what she was talking about and Wes got completely thrown off guard for a minute with puzzlement. He recovered quickly with a wink and a grin, saying, "Don't worry, ladies, you're getting the full, first-class tour today. We aren't skipping anything."

Iris then explained that we are both in communication with the group helping Dale and Wes just fell back into his seat, looking amazed. Then, he sat up and leered at me in the rear view mirror, "You, too, Phyllis?" I shot back, "Oh yes, indeed. I'm the one who told Iris." Well, that threw him back again and I had to adjust the mirror to watch him muttering to himself and shaking his head. He recovered himself admirably and commenced a travelogue of sorts.

He gave Iris a brief history of Ong's Hat as I kept an eye on my driving. At the edge of the Pine Barrens, the pavement ends and the dirt roads get tricky. Just as the road was narrowing and the car was being slapped by pine boughs, we saw a battered sign, "Ong's Hat Rod and Gun Club." I put on the brakes and Iris and I both turned to look at Wes suspiciously. He laughed and assured us, saying, "We get to drive as far as the Gun Club and hike from there so, enjoy it while it lasts."

In the end, I was driving on nothing more than a dirt track and I was glad my Mercedes is one of the old touring models that were designed for crossing the African veldt. We arrived at a cement block-style building with another version of the sign we had seen at the turn-off. There were a few cars parked in the gravel yard in front of it so I pulled along side one of them.

Wes told us, "Although a lot of the 'official' Ong's Hat stories claim that
this place was the site of the Ashram, it wasn't. It was just where a lot of the people involved in the Ashram came to relax, especially when the whole thing was first getting started, before they got all reclusive and secretive. This included some of the famous people that are part of the existing stories --Princeton mathematicians and scientists and so on -- and the 'mystics' from the Moorish Science Table, including Wali Fard himself. The Rod and Gun Club actually acted like the meeting place or
interface between the town of Ong's Hat and the Ashram compound further out in the Pine Barrens."

When I popped open the trunk of the car, Wes and Iris just died laughing at all the gear I had packed, the food, the water bottles, the first aid kit. "Good lord! Phyllis!" Wes crowed, "We're not going that far from civilization! And I don't think you're up to carrying all that stuff 'cause I'm sure not going to be your mule."

Despite their hilarity, I insisted that we use the insect repellent and sun
block before taking off and I slung a canvas bag with a couple of water bottles over my shoulder and just dared them to ask me for some when they get thirsty. So, off we went, hiking along dirt trails deep into the Pine Barrens with Wes in the led and me bringing up the rear. Iris kept looking around through the trees like she expected to see someone lurking. I swear that man set a fast pace just trying to leave me behind and I kept having to call out, "Wait up" and "Slow down, is this a race?"

At one point, there was a roar of some kind of vehicles racing through the woods in the distance and I ran up and challenged him, "Wasn't there a road to this place? I can't believe they hiked like this to get groceries." I suspected he was taking us on some round-about, rugged course just to prove his manly superiority. "Well, yes," he replied, "There used to be a decent access road back at least partway to the compound site but it's unusable now because the government – or whoever – came in here and shut this place down and went to great lengths to obscure the old road with bulldozers, replanting trees and all, trying to erase the whole thing."

Iris asked, "You really think it was a government agency that 'shut down' this Ashram thing, Wes? Why? What were they afraid of?"

Wes replied: "If it wasn't the government, it was someone very much like them. I'm not certain who was actually out here in the Pine Barrens or what kind of weird sh*t they were really doing. But, whatever it was, it got a lot of important people's attention for years to come."

As we started off again, I pleaded, "How much farther is it, Wes?" He ignored me and kept talking to Iris. "I think they may have actually done it, Iris." She replied "Done what, Wes?" And then, stopped still and pointed in the direction we were heading. Her eyes did that thing they do when she's trance-ing and she said, " I feel it. There is power here." Wes and I stopped and watched her carefully. Finally, she said, "And a terrible sadness." Then, she returned to herself. Wes threw an arm around her shoulders and said, "Come on, Iris, we're almost there."

We entered a clearing with a few abandoned buildings in it and visible
remnants of a few more. I must say I was unimpressed and found a fallen beam to sit on and catch my breath. Iris, on the other hand, went deeper into trance and proceeded to describe a vision which I will let her share with you.I was so done in by the heat I hardly listened and was idly looking off in the woods when I saw them! Iris was saying something like, "Look! Who are they?" And my cry of alarm was like an echo, "Look, Who are they?!"

I saw several men standing at the edge of the trees, dressed in dark suits or robes of some fashion, standing there staring at us. I was sorely frightened by their sudden appearance and crying, "Oh, oh, oh!" Wes came up behind and took hold of my shoulders, saying, "Shhh, be quiet, Phyllis. Everything is going to be OK." I looked on in silent horror as Iris took a step or two toward them. Wes said, "The seven – the second
ring!" Then, calmly but firmly, he said, "Iris – we have to leave – now!"

Iris said something like, "They do not belong here. It was them. Their fault," but I could hardly hear her. My teeth were chattering and I couldn't help whimpering with fear They were just standing there, not reacting to us at all like other-worldly Beings. Wes reached out and took Iris by the arm to pull her back, saying, "Comeon, Iris, we are not ready for this. We have to go."

I looked around, hoping to escape, and cried out again. Wes muttered, "Damn, if they are there, that means the others must be --" He looked back around and saw what I saw – DEG's! Then, one from the first group stepped forward and said, "Father..."

I was purely terrified and even more so when I saw Wes go pale and begin to tremble.I tried to hide behind him but that was ridiculous. I couldn't decide which side to hide from and did a crazy little dance from one side of him to the other. Iris was still in trance and seemed paralyzed. I plucked at her sleeve and tried to call her out of it by urgently saying her name over and over.

Wes stepped away from us toward the strange one who had spoken and said with a kind of quiet resignation, "It is true, then." And the strange one replied, "It is not your time yet, old man. Though once you served our enemies, you may yet be of some use to us. Go, and take these fools, and this message with you:We are the question and the answer, the disease as well as the cure. The secrets of the past joined to the wonders of the future. The servants of those above. As the old beliefs and ways
fade away, we are the inheritors of the numinous. Soon, those who have learned what they should not, will find what price that they must pay. The servants and followers of Avalon have no power here.Like the Nine, they shall lose their way and their power. You and your allies are but pawns on a board you cannot even see. The knowledge and power are the rightful reward of those who ascend. Now leave. There is nothing here for you."

Wes looked like he was going to say something in reply but just shook his head. He took Iris by the arm and grabbed hold of mine and just pulled us away from the one who spoke. The DEG's had evaporated behind us. Iris was resisting and straining to look at the strange ones as Wes tried to lead her away.

The strange one who spoke before said to her, "You see things you should not. It is a curse for which you have not yet paid, but you will. And soon."

With that, they disappeared into the trees. Looking at Iris' vacant face, I
just broke down and sobbed. Wes got us back to the car, I don't remember how. I gave him my keys because I was in no condition to drive at all. I sat in the back seat holding Iris' hand. She seemed to breathe more naturally but she just silently looked away at the passing scenery. The drive back seemed to take forever and I slowly recovered myself enough to say, "Well, Wes, I never! Just what was that all about? Who were those beings? What were they doing out there? You knew them! Why did you do that to us?"And, he said nothing, nothing! Just clenched his jaw and drove.

When Wes drove us back to my house around 7:00, he got out of the car and walked away into the dusk without a word. Chris and James came out of the house to greet us, excited to hear what we had found. All I could say was, "I just can't say." Over and over. Iris was still quiet and ithdrawn and I grabbed both her hands and beseeched her, "Call me in the morning. Promise to call me in the morning!" She nodded, yes, and they all left.

I went in and up the stairs to see if Douglas was there. He was – behind a locked door! I came down and fixed myself a drink, I tell you. I am in a state, frightened by what I saw and heard, angry with Wes, and concerned for Iris. My hands are still trembling as I type this. James just called. He and Chris are very concerned about Iris. She hasn't said a word to them and refused to eat or even change out of her clothes. She just fell on her bed into a deep slumber. I am sending them a copy of this email so they will know as much as I do.

What a day! What an awful day! I'm going to bed.

Phyllis

Not that I entirely believe this myself, but...

Does this mean that we can add Wes to the short list of people Diana could have had an affair with? Could Wes be the father of the unborn child?!

Thoughts?

As I connect the dots:

We have Sarah's notes in which she mentions a friend named Todd being taken away.

We know Wes has a son named Todd and Agatha told us they had a falling out of some kind years ago.

We now have this mysterious being among the "seven" calling Wes "father."

So, it's a reverse Star Wars theme. Instead of the father being with the Dark Force, it's Wes' son who went over to the bad side. This is how he got away from the DEG's; his son let him go but told him he would eventually have to submit.
