I'm fairly confident that the 'patterns' you outlined in the gun pic and the logo are artifacts of the GIF image format, or side-effects of how they created the GIF, much like the barely noticable blocking found in jpegs. I could be wrong, but that's my best educated guess.

OK

Ill give you the darker patterns on the left side as gif f*ck ups.

But you cant tell me that the pattern bellow the red line is a "side effect"
.
theres no way

A little more of a technical background on gifs...
Take into account that this (the gun gif) is a standard gif, with a 128 colour palette, thus there would be heavy dithering if the original graphics were full colour (most likely), and depending on the dithering method, the barely visible dots may be semi-random or based on a pattern.

If the black background of the logo, for example, wasn't completely black in the original image before converting to a gif, the dithering process used might place one pixel every n pixels of the next closest black in the palette based on the algorhythm to mimick the almost-black background as best as possible.

As a simple example, if you had 2 colours - black and white - how would you mimic 50% black? Every other pixel would be black then white. 25% black? One in 4 pixels would be black. 10%? 1 in 10... etc etc. Where those pixels are placed is part of the dithering algorhythm, and depending on how many pixels there are in a row, may or may not produce a pattern, or moiré.

I'm certain the noise you're seeing is just gif dithering artifacts. sorry... good digging though!

I'm getting intermittent failures now. I can get the main index page, but not the "login" flash file - although I had it a moment ago. If I enter the URL for the swf directly as a URL, I get redirected to the Paramount site.

My best bet right now? sectorseven.org is load-balanced across more than one server, only one of which has all of the S7 files on. If you get to use a server without the files, you get redirected to the Paramount page.

Or it could just be my cache Smile

Dang, and it all looked so promising...

Nothing Different?

The site is back up, but I don't see anything different. Why do you think they took it down if they didn't add anything to it? Am I just missing something?

Irrelevant?

Here is an oddball proposal that I have compiled through my late night stupor.

I was most interested in the picture of the S7 logo that someone has inverted the background and highlighted the imperfections on the 9th page of this topic.

After searching google for the "M9-2" harpoon gun the most common result I found was a constellation in the belt of venus near a constellation called "Hercules."

This hercules constellation looks somewhat similar to the lower right hand corner of the A7 logo that had been rendered on the 9th page of this forum.

So I guess my question for the rest of you is:

Could the imperfections on the inverted S7 logo possibly be an image of a certain constellation?

(By the way, another idea was that the constellation could be "orion," with what looks like an obvious belt around a figure)

I could be stretching what I've found but I feel it could be a definite possibility concerning the nature of the film.

i found something relating to Takara

at 18 seconds at this clip: http://video.vividas.com/CDN1/5029_paramount/en/web/

"At 09:00 soxon foward Operations base at Takara was attacked"

it might have said "Sector 4 Operations Base"

i'm not sure, i'll listen some more for the "password" i said might be there 3 weeks ago

Constellations

I think the constellation idea makes a lot of sense. Perhaps the Transformers can out of that region of space, and the military is keeping an eye on it to make sure no more robotic aliens decide to visit Earth.

I can't be the only one who tried this, but I didn't see it. In the video Powers gave his code and I entered it.

Try it. It says that a retinal scan is required.

Speculations: Could those dots have soemthing to do with retinal scanning? They looked like constellations to me from the beginning, but the picture of the "army symbol" looked legit as well.

I'm also mapping the IP address, but I am not very good at it, but if you want to check it out, please do.

I hope I am not double posting something here.
