[WI][SPEC|Stairway lyrics]
Speculative post about the relevance of the Stairway to Heaven Lyrics.

Okay, here we go. This is my interpretation of the lyrics from stairway to heaven, as hinted by ilovetofix that the song itself-not the backmasking is relevant to all of this.

Quote:
There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

This is speaking of Calliope, who wants to push the human race to it's peak of knowledge, she thinks highly of humans and is possibly slightly oblivious to their flaws. The word heaven is substitue for 'paradise.'

Quote:
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

She(Calliope) knows that if she's met with despondance from us humans, she can use her powers of influence to get what she wants.

Quote:
There's a sign on the wall but she wants to be sure
And you know sometimes words have two meanings
In the tree by the brook there's a songbird who sings
Sometimes all of our thoughts are misgiven
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

She(Calliope) sees signs of the union of dark muses(Paranoia and two unknown muses) trying to ruin her work. Words having two meanings is a direct reference to duality. For example the word 'evil' automatically infers that there is a definiton of 'good' to stand opposite it. The songbird's words say that Calliope may not be right in her ideas.

Quote:
There's a feeling I get when I look to the west
And my spirit is crying for leaving
In my thoughts I have seen rings of smoke through the trees
And the voices of those who stand looking
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

The reference to looking to the west, I don't get. However, the reference to hearing voices of those who stand looking implies the children, or the observers.

Quote:
And it's whispered that soon, if we all call the tune
Then the piper will lead us to reason
And a new day will dawn for those who stand long
And the forest will echo with laughter
And it makes me wonder

If we all heed Paranoia's warnings, and listen to him, he will lead us to reason(that we can't reach the epoch of our civilization, because it will cause stagnation.) A new day will dawn(Paranoia will rise as a bold power among the muses.) The last two lines are open for speculation.

Quote:
If there's a bustle in your hedgerow
Don't be alarmed now
It's just a spring clean for the May Queen

Some veiled reference to Calliope trying to change people, but not to be alarmed, because her plan will fail.

Quote:
Yes there are two paths you can go by
but in the long run
There's still time to change the road you're on

The paths of Calliope and Paranoia. Even though Calliope has a head-start on her work, it will be easy enough for Paranoia to influence us away.

Quote:
Your head is humming and it won't go because you don't know
The piper's calling you to join him
Dear lady can't you hear the wind blow and did you know
Your stairway lies on the whispering wind

Something is poking at the back of your head, begging you to listen. At first you don't but soon you will succumb to the Paranoia. Dear lady(Calliope) your plan is falling apart, it's in tatters blowing away in the wind.

Quote:
And as we wind on down the road
Our shadows taller than our souls

The shadows will overcome

Quote:
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines white light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen very hard
The tune will come to you at last
When all are one and one is all
To be a rock and not to roll
Woe oh oh oh oh oh
And she's buying a stairway to heaven

Calliope will try once again to sway us, but we will at last realize what path we must choose, when everyone is in tune with Paranoia, no one will roll with Calliope.

Quote:
There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold
And she's buying a stairway to heaven
And when she gets there she knows if the stores are closed
With a word she can get what she came for

And she's buying a stairway to heaven, uh uh uh.

Muses are immortal. She's bound to try again.

find the backwards relay of this song, or one of the Led Zeppilin sings, it is a chant to the Devil.
