So, He dosn't beat her.

[quote]Dear Barbara,
The closest Douglas has ever come to causing me physical harm was the
night he went after me in the back yard and jerked me back into the house. That and the ensuing tirade -- putting me "in my place" -- was close enough to make me decide our marriage was over. If he were to strike me, I would call the police without hesitation and scandal be damned. Father never raised a hand to me; he had no need. Mere disapproval was sufficient to cower me. I may have spoken ill of Father but you all must understand that I adored him. He was my only parent, my only near relative. Mummy's sister lived in the UK. The nannies came and
went. Father was my whole reason for being. And, yes, I transferred the
crown to Douglas. I allowed this; I take responsibility for being the way I
am. I am trying to be something more. I want to be independent and
self-sufficient – living for myself, by myself.

There are so many details to all of this. I'm a little confused about
where "Analog" came in. But I should point out to you the more correct
spelling of that word, Analogue, which is a scientific term describing a device in which data is represented by measurable physical quantities. I suppose if you consider manifest reality to be like a vast computer then your analogy holds true. Sorry, I couldn't resist that -- you should look it up in a dictionary to be sure I've got it right.

I hope you enjoyed your Sunday dinner with your family. I would rather
have been there with you than where I was being terrorized by other-worldly beings.

Fondly,
Phyllis[/quote
