Well just because it's tied to a movie doesn't necessarily mean it has to be bad

i guess i didnt clarify myself. im not saying just because its tied to a movie its bad...im talking the format of arg's like the human project. it was cool until it got lame and competetive. i like arg's where people are working together not pitted against each other for some lame-o prize.

I'm guessing that people have been looking at the sponsor sites for hints of anything arg-like. I looked breifly at Watershed and British Arts Council and didn't turn up anything but I wouldn't exactly call my search thorough either.

Watershed

Watershed page, top right, links to dshed.net, which prominently features Enter-Geist on the homepage.

Hm... This is looking to be a rather professional project, with sponsers and all. I wonder how big it'll be...?

I'm glad I'm getting in on it early. Smile

A second round of emailing seems to be in effect, as I just received one in my Inbox (after being ignored the first time, sniffle).

Massive - cool! I never got an email back when I signed up, either; I haven't gotten one yet but am holding out hope. What'd yours say?

You got a signup response. I never did. Do you think I should try registering again?

Not seeing anything about geist on dshed.net either. Am I blind or has it been removed?

I just signed up, waiting for an email.

I hope I'm not too late into this; I hate going into an ARG after it's begun.

However, since this is a UK based ARG, I'm completely up for it. (Especially since there are ties with a business in my home town!)

Not hugely important, but they have added a list of sponsors now :

Arts Council England
UK Film Council
UWE

Watershed

the watershed site is pretty interesting
http://www.watershed.co.uk/cgi-bin/WebObjects/Watershed.woa/

i hope HOPE that its not a movie tie-in arg like the human project because that was a total let down.

I'm from and live in Bristol (Where Watershed is), so if anything needs doing in Bristol, I'm your man!

(It appears that Licorice film (The company that has created the ARG), is based in Bristol! Woo! Go Bristol!)

This may not mean anything at all to the ARG,

Olly - I think it does have some meaning for the ARG. There was something on the radio broadcast (I need to go back and listen again) about Melvin Geist having been "operated on by aliens as a child" and being able to control people with his thoughts or control their thoughts or something. It sounds like they were talking about a form of possession, so I think "geist" might be a good indicator of the storyline.

P.S. - Olly, I lived in Bath for over a year - I LOVE the Bristol Museum. Maybe this game will give me an excuse to go back for a visit... ^_^
