Hello, Aquaria!

Sure, I'll play... just today and tomorrow? Sounds like my kind of ARG. Smile

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
This place shines with only one full beacon remaining. Cambridge is far from home, where is Oxford? Please don't revolt or be revolting...this place was involved with much of it. This city is a real jewel and what surrounds it is also.

I do hope it's acceptable to conjecture in forum and to walk through one's thought process. I could be totally wrong so I don't know that Spoiler tags are neccessary;

My guess is Lexington, Mass or somewhere in that vacinity with the first part of the riddle a revolutionary war reference to the Old north Church which is actually in Boston, Mass. Boston may well be the location. What initially led me to consider Lexington was due to a fact area on my part and the belief that a second Lexington was actually alluded to in the riddle. Lexington, Ky was alluded to in the riddle's second half. I mistakenly belived lexington kentucy to be one of the "jewls" of the triple crown. As it turns out, the horses for these race are bred here while the race is held in louisville

Thoughts?

Michelle

Don't know much about Boston but I thought I would post here to say that it definitely must be that area, just for us who don't know Boston that well.

The beacon part refers to:
Quote:
Much of the Back Bay and South End are built on reclaimed land—two and a half of Boston's three original hills were used as a source of material for landfill. Only Beacon Hill, the smallest of the three original hills, remains partially intact.
- from wikipedia

...as for the 'jewel' thing...still hunting.

oh, and, count me in to play!

Cape Cod is often referred to as the Jewel of Massachusetts....

I agree - Boston also seems like the best bet to me. At the very least, we know that it's probably in Massachusetts, if not in Boston exactly. The only other thing I could come up with were a few news articles where Medford, Massachusetts was referred to "Jewel of Massachusetts" but it didn't play an important part in the Revolutionary War. =/ So that can't be it. Gee, I'm a big help, aren't I?

I'm going to keep looking more though, to see if there could be anything else to it.

We have to decide by today, don't we? Or Anti-Santa destroys Santa? So... I think Massachussets is a real safe guess. ((We are supposed to just be guessing where he is, no?))
