Crack the Code Reality Game SABOTAGE

There is a new reality game show called SABOTAGE at

http://realsabotage.com

that has a crack the code contest for an automatic interview to get on the show...

The show itself when broadcast will mix in lots of Alternate Reality Gameplay...

So, doing the usual UF-trained spying. View Source (nothing really jumping out).
Whois shows GoDaddy registration without any contact data (created 15 May 2006) for both RealSabotage.com and RealityGameStation.com.
Couldn't find anything Googling BERG, LLC.
Found this in Terms of Service:
Service Provider: BERGS, LLC
Designated Agent: Benjamin Cook
E-mail Address of Designated Agent: bcookSPLATseorefugee.com
Not sure about this place: http://www.seorefugee.com/
Reverse IP on the Whois found another site:
http://whois.domaintools.com/domainhatcher.com with Benjamin Cook listed.

Needs a new webmaster. Shouldn't put stuff out on the server that should be saved for later:
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
Look in my flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/konamouse/163956877/

You will find the blueprint picture and the full clue that Phaedra is/was working on.

Just, you know. One more time. In case it didn't quite get through the first time.

Pay most attention to the following:
Quote:
Users who are directly involved in the creation or maintenance of any Alternate Reality Game (whether in the role of Puppetmaster or in a Behind-The-Scenes position) are welcome to post as themselves in appropriate context, but not within a forum thread or section in which their game is being discussed. The only exception to this rule is when the game has reached a finite conclusion or ending, where people involved directly with the game are then welcome to discuss their game openly. If you are uncertain as to the appropriateness of a post in a thread or section devoted to your game, please contact a forum administrator or moderator. We will be happy to discuss the matter with you.

Users are explicitly forbidden to post as characters, whether in the capacity of a registered member or a forum guest, to post in a fashion designed to covertly influence or otherwise finesse players, or in an attempt to move a game forward.

If you have any further questions, please contact the administration of UF, who are two twitches away from a disabled account and a move to Timewasters Razz

In other news:
/me whistles the Andy Griffith Show theme:

Quote:
Clue 1

The microfilm containing photos of the current members of Operation Dark was discovered missing from Mission Intelligence. After investigation, the safe lock appeared to have not been tampered or broken in any way, meaning someone with a key took the microfilm. The Intelligence Office soon established that the theft was committed by one of four operatives, Porta, Spencer, Popham, or Wheatstone. The key that was used to open the safe was used by one of the four. One agent has committed SABOTAGE. Each operative was questioned using a polygraph. They made the statements listed below, two and only two of which are true in each case.

Who stole the microfilm? __________________

Ho-hum.

ETA: Because I am bored:

Statement #1 for both Porta and Popham is true, ergo Statement #2 for Popham is false.

So, this is what I have:

Porta (P)
1 - T
2 - F
3 - ?
4 - ?

P1 is true, therefore O2 must be false. (P1 is true because if it were false, 3 of the 4 statements would have to be false, and only two can be.)

P2 is false, because it doesn't work out if you enter a T value for it. Therefore, S2 is true.

If P3 is true, S3 is false.

If P4 is true, S1 is false and O3 is false.

Spencer (S)
1 - ?
2 - T
3 - ?
4 - ?

If S1 is true, then P4 and O3 are false.

S2 is true.

If S3 is true, then P3 is false, O4 is false, and W3 is true.

If S4 is true, then W2 and W4 are false.

Popham (O)
1 - T
2 - F
3 - ?
4 - ?

O1 is true (because if it weren't, three statements total would have to be false).

O2 is false (because it conflicts with P1, which is true).

If O3 is true, then P4 and S1 must be false.

If O4 is true, then S2 and W3 must be false.

Wheatstone (W)
1 - ?
2 - ?
3 - ?
4 - ?

If W1 is true (which does not necessarily make W4 true), S4 is false.

If W2 is true, P1 is false and S2 is true.

If W3 is true, O4 is false.

If W4 is true, then W1 must also be true, S4 must be false, and P1 must be false.

And hm, either I made a mistake in outlining the dependent relationships, or there's a flaw in the puzzle, because entering T for both P3 and P4 results in problems in the other people's statements, but I have now lost interest and am going to bed.

So, another site hosted on the IP was googled, but I had to go into the cache to see stuff posted by skitzzo and found this.

His MySpace profile (linked from LeeLeak's MySpace).

Benjamin Cook's "Pops" is a professional website designer.

Stuff in SEOrefugee which seems to be run by Ben and his Pop.

So, is this a reality tv show? Is it an ARG? Or, is it an experiment in SEO?
You decide after reading this.

While there seems to be a game in this, I think the SEO association is very obvious... looks like a way of raising pagerank or creating linkfarms or whatever they do for SEO... or at the very least they're trying to increase traffic to a legit site by spamming different boards (which I doubt is legit because he said "short term project")

I don't think we should contribute to that and thus remove all the hyperlinks if this is allowed to go on. Change the URL to something else and just notify everyone who wants to visit the actual site of how to do that, without giving them search engine benefits.

Ugh, maybe one of the mods should change the links to his site to something else so we're not just building his traffic. Confused

ETA: Beat me to it, Ehsan. Smile

And I think his logic puzzle is flawed. Grr.
