D&G Glasses Spec

Another thing might be that they painted out the D&G logo with a Inferno/Flame so they would not be responsible for showing a big time company logo without permission happens all the time - maybe they just missed one paint out section.

SirQuady-- This would change the Phoenix countdown time to Jan 13th at 4:00pm if my computer is reading it correctly.

Yeah. It looks like they changed the countdown for Phoenix. I'm assuming its a mistake on their end as well, allthough it could be a clue... I'll check up on the other countdowns once i get the chance.

Have used Countdown timer in Sydney zone, and it gives 8am SUNDAY.
Have also updated the Wiki appropriately . . . .

Hmmmmm..... i did it to, i got Sunday, 14 January 2007, 7:55:00 am, but, that doesn't match the time on the wiki (i am using GMT+10, which, is what Sydney uses as well)

Actually, that's only 5 minutes off. Which is acceptable difference for two different clocks (translation: your computer clock is probably off by about 5 minutes)

No this is NOT mine Very Happy I wish!

Read post #74 here from Neowin.

http://www.neowin.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=523893&hl=vanishing%20point&st=60

Yes, that appears to be the person's wallpaper (I think he or she has a widescreen monitor). As for the weird countdown, it's because that person changed her computer's time to January the 8th.

As for what'll happen at the various events? I dunno. Basically, we'll have to wait and see (It's only a week till the first one, it's not a huge wait. Smile ). As for whether Loki will give away Vista...all i can say is Don't get your hopes up. It's better to be pleasantly suprised than to be dissapointed... Besides, you'll get to meet up with your fellow ARG-ers, and'll get to be a part of this ARG! (Kewl!)

missing clues?

Hello there,

I'm pretty new to ARGing, so I'm not 100% sure, but I think I've been 'lurking' so far on this one.
I've just read through all the posts and a couple of thing got me wondering.
I agree with MrBeefy, from the little we know of Loki's character it is apparent that she is a woman of order and sequence. It seems unlikely that she would have a website index going / a / b / c without having / d and / e. Only what could they be and where are the clues? (I tried Enigma Director but no dice Sad)

and finally...

The Vanishing point logo on the website is made up of smoke and mirrors, synonomis with magic tricks and false fronts....just like the God Loki. Could this whole pre-story just be misdirection?

I'm looking forward to the narrative kicking in, just wish I could go the the event, if I'm VERY lucky it will be in walking distance of my work...hmmm... Confused

[edited to remove speculation]

HOW YOU SAY ONE PERSON CAN WIN I THINK THATS WRONG BECAUSE SHE SAYS ON WICH PAGE I FORGOT BUT THAT YOU CAN WIN GAMES PC's AND OTHER STUFF, SO YOU SEE WHAT I AM SAYING?

[edit - no point in quoting an entire post just to comment on 1 sentence - kona]

[PPS. hey moroz r, how about registering on uF - you can then edit your own posts, you can send & receive PMs, you can even have your own little avatar - kona]

guys all this speculation is great, but untill this starts its utterly useless im sorry its true. maybe some of you are right but wouldnt it make more sence to post any speculation when the game starts to unfold, and you have more evidence. otherwise ur just adding pages to this thread and making it more difficult for other people to join in on the game.

Oh sweet chocolate Christ ...

There are multiple prizes. Only one person can win the Grand Prize. Why oh why can't people THINK before they post?

Le sigh ...

Trout
blackhawk, perhaps sohrab just didn't see it. As you said in your previous post, people are adding random speculation, which is making it hard for new people to get involved as they have to read the whole 18 pages.

SPEC:

i think the launch will create the Game - and that this won't be just a puzzle trail. Look at the history of 42 projects. This can't end on the 8th, but would begin then and last for weeks (months?).

Here's what happens on the 8th - some big announcment, that's interrupted with the unexpected:

"We've found the most important...waitaminnit! they're MISSING!?!?!?!?!...OMG gamerz, we NEED YOUR HELP!"

"This isn't what we expected! and AOPZ PZ UVA H NHTL!"

-----

Also, regarding watches. Typically watches, for display purposes, are set to 10:10 - to display the hands properly. Although this watch at 10:10 could be indicating something, it may also not be.

That's why we have [Search]. Blackhawk's only error was in not pointing it out as part of his reply. And sohrab I wouldn't trout just because they are new. Gotta ease 'em into it... To sohrab, please search first - it works really well, and helps cut down on repetitive posting of old information.

I guess I'm done, as all I can really do is wildly speculate.
I'm not so good at "thinking" as you people call it.

Other options besides your suggested plan:

-join chat and spec in there - foshizzle.ca.us.hub.chat-solutions.org room #vanishing
-wait for more to happen, to better define the possibilities
-reread the topic and refine ideas, condense posts to one single batch of concepts, erasing previous entries to decrease chattter in the topic
-take a deep breath and leave the basement for a little while
