Prize Speculation

I think the main prize is to have a new MS product named after you.

Its humdrum I know, but I think this means a product launch.

Sadly, you're probably right. I just think that would be pitiful ... drumming up all this hype for something you'd have to be DEAD to not know is launching at the end of January. Not to mention that they aren't even being cryptic about it, so I'm really hoping there's something more excited attached to the launch than just "Hey, here's Vista Ultimate!"

Hey, it could be worse. It could be an announcement for Microsoft Bob 2!

The launch Loki is most likely refering to is most likely the Vista launch @ CES 07.

I think you might be on the right track. Tho i doubt any of my birth names would make for a good product name. Probably more along the lines of naming a product or facility.

P.S. Posting from a Vista Ultimate RTM machine. (yes more than 1000 people are already using it)

just some thoughts. this should be interesting.

An explanation of the previous link (I didn't put it there, i'm just reporting what it is):

It's a website for corporate spaceflights. As in, the whole "Grand Prize is a trip to space!" might not be so out there. (Ok, from the looks of it, it looks more like the "Vomit Comet" than a full out trip to space...but still...)

As you can see, the prizes include a trip into space and being immortalised on a computer chip.

cglrcng- We appreciate your enthusiasm, but please find the thread where your idea is on topic, and post ONCE. Being organized is one of the things that makes these forums so useful.

We also ask that players use our nifty [search] tool to see whether their information is already posted elsewhere - you will find the news about lokivanishes being registered all over the web was noted and discussed some weeks ago in the pregame.

Wikipedia on Rocketplane XP

From the sounds of this article it's still under development, with the first flight bookings for mid 2008, so the prize could be a bit, shall we say, delayed?

....This could be interesting.

Re: Wikipedia on Rocketplane XP

Sorry, I know this is a little bit Trout , but I thought the article might be of interest anyway.

Article on CNN about Vanishing Point.

Quote:
Besides the ride in Rocketplane Ltd. Inc.'s four-seater spacecraft, prizes include computers, Xbox game consoles, Zune digital music players and, of course, copies of Windows Vista.

Marr declined to reveal Loki's true identity, but said a special prize awaits the person who figures it out: his or her name, laser-etched onto a batch of microprocessors from Advanced Micro Devices Inc.

"Especially for that audience, the most technically engaged, having their name in lights like that is a pretty special thing," Marr said. "Even if it is very tiny little lights, underneath the fan."
