OTHER means a problem with your connection to VPG. People get it sometimes when they try to submit answers. Log out and back in again.

bottom symbols

Could the bottom symbols be Laurel Leaves?
Laurel leaves represent victory, achievement and Triumph.

Just a thought!

Maybe laurel leaves, maybe feathers, but to me they look like 3-D rods with white squares on. Note that two have been filled in on the middle left, and one on the top right, FWIW.

Our heraldry experts called them feathers and said there is meaning to how many are "docked" (which I took to mean clipped). Haven't heard from them this week.

Maybe
Vanishing Point

Has anyone with Vista searched there hard drive for a Loki file or something of that sort. If this game is so planned out I wouldn't doubt that they put something in Vista to help solve it.

I think pretty much all the Easter Eggs that MS was putting into their products are a thing of the past. Now, there's only the type that might conceivably be considered productivity enhancements. Like "=rand()" in Word. They took a lot of heat for their "bloatware" containing racing games and flight sims in Excel and Pinball games and Godzilla movies in Word, etc.

Another thought - are the so-called 'feathers' actually keys into the original VPG advert (see http://vanishingpointwiki.com/wiki/IE_Blog)?

The other keys, and the text, is 20x3, and the feathers are 3x2x7 each, but if the central two panes of the shield gave six more squares, then there might be something in it.

The Shield !

OK - The shield / crest we are coming up with for the meta is most bizzar.

I have searched every picture search possible, for badges, shields, crests, logos, coat of arms, across many areas, college, uni, scouts, school, rescue, work clubs etc - across feathers, grappling hooks, everything - there would seem to be no-one using grappling hooks in a shield type logo - real add and unexpected.

In heraldry the double shields are called bordour's (al a border) and point to a separation from the symbol inside - but I feel that would be too deep for this puzzle piece. There is a meaning on the feathers with regard the number of chevrons (V's) but I can find little information in books or across the net with this regard. Also there layout has some symbolism too.

We must be missing something to do with the meta puzzle - its odd that week 1 had loads to do, week 2 and 3 nothing ?? Odd

Ooooh ... nice bit of spec, that. We never did find out why a Linux command (WGET) was in that code.

Look at /collectionplate - the total for four weeks will be 36. That means 9 white boxes a week. So three puzzles each week do not have white boxes.

but why? Why leave 3 white boxes out per week? What's special about those missing the white boxes?

Because 4x9 gives a nice 6x6 image and 4x12 doesn't?
