I just messaged the tag and sent it a friend request, it's probable just some poor random person that is going to get a friend request from me and a message saying; "Ninja Vanish?"

does anyone else feel like messaging that gamertag?
Will do. Probably not meaningful, but might as well..
Oh, and the "five" clues, it seems likely. Five seems to be her obsession.
Edit: Messages sent.

No go on using the old "check your sources" number I just tried the phone number from the pre-game (800-736-9085) with both 31415 and 31416 as the PIN, and both gave me the "I'm sorry, there's no extension..." message.
Based on the e-mail auto-replies, and the "We'll talk soon" at the end of the video, I think we need to find a phone number too... just not sure what!

Meta Puzzle I checked the video and I'm almost definatly sure she said her majors were physics, stages arts , history, and folklore. Also her GPA was pi. The reason it differs from the other one is that for her GPA she rounded. Pi is 3.14159 ect. The number before was from not rounding.

oops... I think someone is going to get a message from me at microsoft....
I was thinking about the "harder" thing. So as a random though I emailed:
diamondSPLAT microsoft.com
diamondsSPLAT microsoft.com
diamonds@ returned failed.
diamond@ however, has not bounced...
Also I tried @ms:
3.1416
3.1415
3.14159

Ok so I got to thinking...
return name on the ms loki address is:
Loki . (confidential)
Possible clue there?
Should we be looking for something like:
loki.something@ms ?

The correct address is... v-lokiSPLAT microsoft.com
At least that was the return address I got w/ the (Confidential) return mail I received. The word we are looking for may be GOLD as I found PLAY w/ it under a Details section of a Loki Chocolate Folklore God item.

cglrcng - Again, good on the enthusiasm thing, but again repeating information already posted elsewhere. And I am certain that chocolate Loki has nothing to do with the game.

I was thinking about this last night. We know for sure that Loki is involved with the Vanishing Point Game, and Microsoft. E-mailing her at Vanishing Point gives the first message about work and play. E-mailing her at Microsoft gives this message.
"Not exactly what I had in mind. Try harder -- then listen."
Well, that suggests that you had the right PLACE, but not the right METHOD. We need to find out other ways to contact her at Microsoft. So far, people at Neowin are exploring trying to find her extension (a five digit number, confirmed by the Aaron Coldiron e-mail, there's five again!), or something else. IM, Xbox Live Gamertag, etc.

I've tried the following 5 digit extensions through MS's number -
85654 (vloki)
56548 (lokiv)
... 31416 next? I'm at work and don't want to press my luck but the number is 1-800-642-7676

Hmmm...I agree that we've found the right place, but I'm not sold on our needing to contact Loki via telephone (at least not yet). Any other ideas what she might mean by "try harder"? I was toying around with the idea of having to contact her via snail mail, or with a "hard copy" of our message. We know her address...it was on the envelopes and things sent out to bloggers previously.
The idea of contacting her via XBOX gamertag came from the intro video, when she said that if we need help, we can always search for the Vanishing Point tag. There are only so many places that use tags, XBOX being one. I also tried searching places like technorati and FLICKR without success.
On a side note, glad to be over here! I was at Neowin yesterday but this site seems SO much better organized.
All the best,

only really been lurking so far, but to me the "try harder, then listen" strongly suggests the phone, otherwise it would be the other way round?

My thoughts exactly. I've got a couple hours to kill before my *nerdy snort* D&D game tonight so I'll check out some other possible extensions and see what occurs.
