It might be browser related. I know that it won't work on Netscape, so just for viewing the video's I use Explorer.

Netscape has started crashing the computer on a regular basis. I am using Mozilla to download my POP mail, and usenet groups, but I have been using IE more and more lately because in part to keep the crashed to a minimum and because there are a number of picture files that wont run on Netscape, and Mozilla is a RAM hog on my current system. I have downloaded all the updates for the windows media player but it still wont play the vidio, just audio.

Thanks for the input tho...

Do you also have the latest version of explorer??
That's what I had to get, in order for those video's to work. My previous version apparently didn't like the fully updated windows media player and it refused to load the video's.

Gotta love windows at times. *sigh*

On my old computer, I had all the so called updates too. I had more problems with the updates than without. So I have a new computer and when I get the pop ups of updates, I just ignore. I'm too afraid. Shocked

Seems up to date to me.. Hmmm..
Video card and sound card drivers are also up to date??
They sometimes also prove to be problematic.

That might be it... last time I had it in for a bigger Hard Drive and more ram I think he updated those but that was about a year and a half ago.

New DL link

There's a new download link at http://www.aglauranj.org/tempdata3.html. For those having trouble with the streaming link, it may be because it's pointed at the.asx file. The new DL link grabs the entire 2MB .asf file. Just right click on "News Clip Download 7/14/03" and save it to your hard drive.

Will someone who was having trouble viewing the report please give this a shot and let the rest of us know? Thanks!

It is my understanding froma friend of mine who sets up these things for a living, you have to install each update in order, i.e. 1, 2, 3.. if you load them 3, 2, 1 you will have problems and the way to get them set properly is to run the original install disk again. Every once in a while (5 or 6 months) I do that just to be on the safe side. It takes me less than half an hour to do that and straightens things out when it starts to lock up on me.
