 [QUESTION] confusing on 'repair table'!
confusing on 'repair table'!

Hello everyone, i live in Hong Kong, and i noticed that there was a new game called 'vanishing point' and just click in to play!
now i finish most of them and i want to ask some questions on 'repair table'.

knowing that the film of Disney,so we can use '101' to represent the dog!
and i also know about blackjack means '21' and cats have '9' lives.

but i don't know what is the meaning of other pictures, only type the correct answer in the spaces provided. Embarassed

And i thought that the ball with number 'eight' is black in color, why can we use '8' to represent the ball that seems in green(or yellow) in color?

plus, what is the meaning of '76 trombones', '3 blind mice', and 'route 66'?
(i don't know the meaning of special stories or things in foreign countries!)

although i know that i can register an account for playing and cannot get any prize as i am living in Hong Kong, it's really interesting and happy to play this game, especially solving the questions!

and, 'vanishing point' is a game which need using phones and fax, and the meaning of things in foreign countries, therefore i need help from all of you~! thank you! Wink

Greeting, mingforfun! Welcome to uF.

The questions you asked are actually already discussed in this thread, where the puzzles are all listed and solved (you can ask more questions there too if you need to). You should be able to find the answers you're looking for there, we just like to keep threads organized Smile.
You can also use the Search tool at the top of the page if you want, to help find things quicker.

Enjoy your stay!

ETA: just realized you were asking for the meanings of numbers, not solutions =P even so, welcome!

Hi Mingforfun,

There will probably be many cultural references that will go over people's heads depending on where they hail from. I also have no idea what '76 trombones' means and only know of 'route 66' from a old song title.
As for the 3x mice - that is from an old nursery rhyme called 'three blind mice'. You can find info on any of these terms on either wiki or google, but I don't reckon they have any baring on the story over all (and so didn't bother, myself).

Anything that IS of importance will quickly be spotted, no doubt!

I'm hoping that as the game moves location so will the cultural references and phone numbers et al. (doubtful for the first one but optomistic for the latter). Maybe us brits will get to do some of the phoning too. Laughing

76 trumbones is from "The music man", and route 66 is a very famous road in the US. I believe it stretches across the western half of the country?

The "8 Ball" was actually a video glitch in the projection. It wasn't supposed to be yellow or green ... it was black (it is the 8 Ball on a pool table). When the cube started to rotate, you could see more clearly that it was a color anomaly, because it shifted to a much more dark color.

With the way we solve the puzzles, collaboratively, everyone brings in their own knowledge to the clues. Its unlikely that one person would be able to easily solve all the puzzles on their own.
