The correct spelling is Pachelbel, BTW. I read that to mean that #3 is %not% Pachelbel's Canon. Also the correct title is as 'Sawyer' suggested 'Flight of the Bumblebee'. I tried:
Quote:
Vienna Blood Waltz
Eine Kleine Nachtmusik
Pachelbel's Canon
Flight of the Bumblebee
Les Toreadors
Celebrated Minuet
Sabre Dance
no result. Same for Pachelbel's Canon in D.
I also read that to mean that 'Sawyer' and 'slewth' are %not% the same person...

Do we need to put the song title and composer?

According to the description (or maybe it was a comment we got earlier, I forget exactly) we need to use the "common name" of the song only.

I am red karma so I cannot try any guesses, but I love this puzzle. It is very challenging but maybe listening to all these LP's and CD's for college music classes will payoff after all.
I like what the last guesses were on all of the pieces except Pachelbel's Canon. That one doesn't sound quite right. The whistling has a sliding or swooping up effect on the notes, and the Canon goes straight note to note. I need to go listen to more of their works, but some of the composers I can think of that use sliding connected notes like that are Hector Berlioz, Richard Wagner, and maybe Vivaldi. I cannot try any to confirm but I can go do some more homework and try to find exact pieces for you. Maybe later in the week I will have more specific attempts for you to try.

It seems three is the diamond in the rough that needs to be cracked.
Which was made in the DC Old Downtown Audiophile Forum I decided to go an entirely different route which, unfortunately, didn't work. I'll post my non-solve here in case it helps:
1)Vienna Blood Waltz
2)Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) - I entered it exactly like that; the name in parenthesis is a potentially more common one.
3)Cracklin Rose - for you youngsters this is an old song by Neil Diamond
4)Flight of the Bumblebee
5)Les Toreadors
6)Celebrated Minuet
7)Sabre Dance
I thought maybe the PMs threw us a curve.
Now, there is also an album by Jessi Colter called Diamonds in the Rough, however none of the title names jumped out at me.

Sorry Wolfhawk. I have been watching your hard work and I am sorry if I threw you off. I am not a PM but they pick on me alot. I am just a regular player.

That is quite all right Enoch; the important thing is it made me think outside the box we have built for ourselves in our attempts to solve this puzzle.

the closest thing i got anything that sounded right was the theme to 2001: a space odyssey, but the last note is completely off.
it sounds like a ridiculously slowed down version of moonlight sonata.

enoch,
the track you are speaking of is "also sprach zarathustra", which we have already ruled out.

Just for posterity, I tried:
Quote:
1 Vienna Blood Waltz
2 Eine kleine Nachtmusik
3 Roman Carnival Overture
4 Flight of the Bumblebee
5 Les Toreadors
6 Celebrated Minuet
7 Sabre Dance
Edit: ...and it didn't work. Right.
