[INTERACTION]Ethan Sedgewick

Heyo,

Kinda like Agent Lex's new threads, Ethan's is kinda mixed in with everyone else's.

So start posting your interactions with him here.

ok, so ethan contacted me.

WARNING: what follows is EXTREMELY OOG for reds, and pretty OOG for everyone else but a select few, who i MIGHT contact later on. Right now, all of this is in my hands, just wanted you guys to see it.

this is a message i got from Ethan, his first email to me in a while:

Would you be willing to help me out with something? Below is a list
of agents that I found in a rather interesting place. I don't know
much about these people, and have no reason to trust or doubt them. If
you can, learn a little bit about them. I figure that your high
standing and unique Karma color puts you in a good position to
approach people. I am interested in anyone who seems particularly
capable or talented. Also, anyone who is a big risk to turn on the
Underground should be found out now. Keep this quiet.

so we might be getting a few new characters soon.

P.S. if anyone already has some dirt on these guys, i consider this IG for you. Razz kinda hypocritical, but meh. Mr. Green

Not me! 'Tis James Stone who's been posting those new therads (and good on him). That said, if I get a message back from Bishop regarding my latest mail to him, I'll probably make one for him/

Anyway, interesting list. The only name I recognise is Guin, from Perplex City fame. Not sure if he's very active in DC though.

EDIT: Just for clarification, if anyone doesn't know, Ethan Sedgewick is eldoradowatcher in the interface.

I received a similar message from Ethan...personally, I don't really care if you use this information in game or not. If you want to report that Ethan's feeling out people's sympathies, go for it.

Is Mindez even playing still? He was fairly active before the break, but he hasn't posted since December. Tezar hasn't been active since solving a puzzle on the 16th...could we have been given lists of inactive players in an attempt to bring people back into the game?

I am hoping that you would be willing to use your high ranking and
red Karma to help me out with something. Below is a section from a
list that turned up in a most interesting place. These are red agents
that I would like to learn a lot more about. I don't have any reason
to believe that they are anything other than what they say they are,
but who knows. I want you to feel them out and see if there aren't any
potential defectors to the Underground among them. I have some green
agents checking up on other names, so there is a danger that word will
get out that we are doing this: keep this quiet.

Take your time and learn as much as you can. There could be some real
movers and shakers in there, so don't piss anyone off unless you have
to. Thanks.

Lex, sorry. Was thinking about the message you sent, and thats how that happened.

Also, i've messaged the people on my list, and while looking at the profiles, i noticed that only a couple of them have names associated with them, and they sound suspiciously like IG names. you know, kinda weird?

so i'm gonna check into them some more.

Morelaak.

I assure you that I am not. Adam and I share some ideas and friends, but we are most certainly two distinct people. I am but a small player in this whole thing just trying to do my part

Theo didn't like to be called Brackin either. I still think I'm correct

I applaud your curiosity and determination, but I am still not Brackin. I can't think of a way to prove that to you, but I'm sure that in time you will see the truth. In the mean time, I'm flattered

If you have a chance, I would appreciate a little help. Below is a
section from a list of agents that I am interested in learning more
about. I don't know anything about these people yet, but their names
turned up in a very interesting place. I have no reason to believe
that they are anything other than what they say they are, but I would
like to know a little more. If possible, please do a little snooping
around and see if you can't figure anything out. If any of these
people have what it takes to make a big difference in here, I want to
know. Also, if any of these people are a risk of selling out to
D-Corp, I most certainly want to know.

Now if you don't remember, I asked him if he wanted me to look at anyone in particular. I guess I got my chance!

ok, there is at least one name that is exactly the same on two of the notes. both taurean and I got the name Phoenix.

Some of the other names sound like they might be alternate accounts for the same person (Jtotheimmy/gijoe1980 i know it's a stretch, but hey. post what you see.)

so they may be trying to get us to narrow this down to a certain person.

maybe brackin?

This is in response to my question to Ethan about the third name for Theo's group (see the Theo thread for more on that).

I am afraid to say that you are asking just the questions I cannot
answer. I support and encourage your curiosity, but at this time I
have not been cleared to divulge the information you seek. I hope you
understand. I look forward to the time when I can work with you fully.

So Ethan knows about it (surprise, surprise) and might even be the third faction

Old Dowtown

Found this on the forum:
Quote:
we must be heard (02/08/07 at 01:26 PM) by eldoradowatcher
In the forum for the news feed from 2/08/07 a 2007-era propaganda campaign was announced by AD Prince on behalf of D-Corp. We cannot allow Foo to have the only voice in 2007. I encourage all those loyal to the Underground to come up with ways to counter this agenda of disinformation. Every new agent recruited to our side is another weapon against Foo. We must have our voice heard in 2007 so that our mighty roar may shake the walls of 2037.

He's really recruiting.... I'm trying to recruit but all of my friends think i'm crazy. They're either not geeky enough or the wrong kind of geeks. CURSES!!!!

I just printed out a few of the ads and stuck 'em with the reading material in the local coffee house.

Foo has also posted a recruitment request on his blog ( http://foo-defiant.blogspot.com ) -- whichever side you're on, you can probably get in-game "credit" for advertising for the game.

Recruiting Campaign

The Brotherhood is on a recruitment drive:

Quote:
To eldoradowatcher: Ethan

I agree with your post today, both sides must be represented. Let me know what key ideas and feelings you want to convey and I will see what I can come up with. Where do you want me to send the poster to?

James

Excellent! We will need a variety of skills to make this resistance work, and I'm glad to hear that you will lend us your talents. As for the details of the poster, why not ask around and see what people think would be most important or successful. Maybe you could distribute a poster (or the file of one) to different people loyal to our cause and they could post them where they will do the most good. I will certainly do my small part, but I think we will need many hands and many feet to have our message seen. It would be great if there were a way to see the various places that our messages had been placed. Let me know if you have other ideas or need any help.

_E

Quote:
To eldoradowatcher: I have a few designs and some great ideas for distribution, but I have run into a problem. Most of the webhosting places I have looked into for posting related content have Terms Of Service, and what I am planning will clearly be in violation of one or more of those. Do you know anyone who has some webspace free, and someone with decent html skills would be good too, mine are very poor?

Quote:
eldoradowatcher says: James Stone_

Yeah, I can see how we could run into issues. Good thinking, and I commend your caution. I don't really have any connections with hosting ability. Well, if you created some files (and instructions or anything) than we could put the word out and email those files directly to people. I would be happy to act as a sort of distribution hub for the materials. Anyone who had the files could in turn share them with other people and it might just spread that way. Do you think something like that might work? Remember that we can post messages in the location forums with ideas or instructions.

_E

Quote:
To eldoradowatcher: Hi Ethan

I have spoken to BrumGuy and he is going to help. I have a couple of basic poster ideas which I can finish after work today. That should get us started on the distribution side of things. Then I think we should work toward getting photographs of the posters in places agents have left them, up the exposure we can get from them.

Can you think of anything we are missing?

James

I totally agree that it would be great to have a collection of photographs of the posters up. Could that be something that could just appear on the web somewhere, like a Flickr account or something? Some free blog or something? This is going to be a huge help to the resistance.

_E

We have a couple of posters ready to go, one of which came from an unknown Foo suporter! We just need to sort out the page for photo hosting. I am off to work now but will look into it when I get back.....unless someone has already done it Very Happy

Well my greeny char did run an in-game'ish blog at the beginning of this, so if all else fails, we can upload pics somewhere and post them in that blog? I'm sure he'd be happy to help.
