I think the full translation is "For Knowledge Itself is Power" I'm not sure whether that helps or not though - it means the same thing

And the one that looks like morse is on different lines, so i think it's maybe a music cipher?

Also on pic one with the branches it apears to be that each branch has 5 sections to it, again like the binary in the other pics except that here there is an extra branch and so one more line than the other puzzles

For knowledge itself is power seems to be a better translation. It's attributed to Francis Bacon BTW. Also note that the font is different for some of the characters. Separating characters by font used we get:

atscen
Nmeqasit
IA POTESTAS EST

The two flipped woodcuts are indeed mirror images of each other- no "spot the difference" there.

Pic here: http://home.hiwaay.net/~paul/peacham/bacon.html

So we're looking for something bacon related (tried pig, it didn't work) as a url.

Bacon's cipher:
Quote:
each letter of the plain text is replaced by a group of five of the letters 'A' or 'B'
(sounds like the non-binary)

also
Quote:
The writer must make use of two different typefaces for this cipher. After preparing a false message with the same number of letters as all of the A's and B's in the real, secret message, two typefaces are chosen, one to represent A's and the other B's. Then each letter of the false message must be presented in the appropriate typeface, according to whether it stands for an A or a B.

EDIT: The non-morse is in groups of 5, so is the binary, the cards are 5 across, circles are 5 across, 5 points on each branch...

Oh, good find!

Also, we noticed in chat that in the tree-looking picture, there are 9 branches, each having 6 nodes - so there are 5 spaces per branch. Flowers are placed on these spaces like so:
00001
00001
10001
11010
01000
10001
00101
10000
10100

In image3, there are 45 letters. If you map the binary to those letters, the result is sbsyxwbosvywjrg (I forgot to flip the tree the first time I did it).

EDIT: I made one mistake in the resulting letters

I don't think it is binary though. I think it is a version(s) of Bacon's code, see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bacon's_cipher

This also links to the As and Bs in the pics.

EDIT - the snag is there are different versions of the letters. i.e. on the tree B is 00101, on circles it's 10001, on the binary it's 10100

Applying the Bacon steganography and discarding the last two lines we get

ABAAB
AABAA
BABBA

which would spell out K-E-Y Smile

doing the binary picture with 1=B is:

BABAA
BAAAB
BAABA
ABBAB
BAAAA
BAAAA
ABBAB
BABAA

, which is wstorrow through the bacon cipher

I have one correction for the circle picture. With circles being Bs it is:

BAAAB
ABBBB
BABBA
ABBBB
ABABB
ABABA
ABBAB
BABAA

, which is sqyqwlow

EDIT: /me trouts self

I'm not sure whether I'm now grasping at straws, but I'm sure I remember Bacons had other versions of this cipher. I'll see if I can find anything to back up my dodgy memory
