Maybe we can decode 1-5 using the corresponding word, with JKQOVVKX as a key?

1-5 have already been decoded though. We are now working on the mirror puzzle..

Decoding the ciphertext:

Spoiler (Rollover to View):
FMBSWRSRC XYNOV SQYQMLOW WSTORROW LSLKW

(Obtained from De-Baconing the stuff in the pictures)

Then, if the Vigenere key 'key' is applied to each indivdual word, you end up with:

VIDISTINE NUPER IMAGINES MOVENTES BONAS

Or 'Have you seen any good films recently?'

Wizard of Oz anyone?
[spoiler]

Credit to newb0y for figuring this out.

figuring what out? that doesn't work as a solve?

BTW, using GGO as the key JKQOVVKX becomes DECIPHER.

The movie reference fits in with our licorice films sponser.

I don't know if this will help or not, but the Enter:/ line of the website would seem to suggest that our solution should be 11 letters long.

Not a solve, but it's a clue. I think that deserves credit Smile

Also, how did you figure out that the key would be GGO? I'm confused at that step.

Decipher was the missing word in the "method" and was the right number of letters, after that it was just reverse viginiere.

Could be totally blue fish though

The way I see this, we've got eight moving pictures in front of us. Pretty good ones, wouldn't you say?

I keep looking at the source code, and the numbers given for the table parameters are hella suspicious. They look terribly random. But they couldn't possibly be.

Most of them are three digits, and my esteemed colleague RC54 has just pointed out to me that you can't use digits that start with 0 in an HTML table (obviously) so perhaps the two-digit exceptions were intended to.

I haven't quite figured out where to go with this yet, but we're working on it.

EDIT: After further thought about Dreamweaver and other programs that make webpages, maybe not so much. But still, I wonder if there's maybe something about the speed at which the images move or something within the flash file that we can use.

It seems that a lot of people are. Ok, here's what has been worked out:

- all the stuff in pictures numbered 1-5 has been substituted into As and Bs, for each picture. You can find how exactly it's been decided what's an A and what's a B, as well as the order of As and Bs earlier in this thread.
- all of those As and Bs, separately from each picture, were decoded with the bacon cipher, resulting in "FMBSWRSRC XYNOU SQYQMLOW WSTORROW LSLKW"
- this picture was also mapped to As and Bs, and those, bacon-deciphered, give "key"
- each word from there^ was run through vigenere with "key" as key. The result is "VIDISTINE NUPER IMAGINES MOVENTES BONAS". Translated from Latin, it is "Have you seen any good motion pictures lately?", more or less.
- text from this picture run through vigenere with "key" as key yields "Method Mirror Transcribe Jkqovvkx Translate Answer"

That's where we're at now.

Really 'moventes' is 'moving', because it would be an adjective, so, perhaps, moving pictures, or pictures in motion, so on. It could conceivably be taken as NOT having anything to do with films if you so chose to interpret it that way.

Ok, so we have this Method Mirror Transcript Decipher Translate Answer thing.

Look how it's laid out. I think Method is the title, and this is how it plays out:

Method:

Mirror - Flip the numbered pictures.
Transcript - Change the data in the pictures to As and Bs
Decipher - Use Bacon and Vigenere to get the Latin phrase.
Translate - Translate Latin to English.

Answer: Simply answer the question 'Seen any good movies lately?'.

This is where we are, at least that's how I see it. So either Eva or someone has to mention a movie, or we need to put a movie down as the answer. Also movies might include Eva's webcam blogs or the flash movies etc.

Happy puzzling XD

I've tried /wizardofoz, /wizard_of_oz, /aliceinwonderland, /alice_in_wonderland... no luck, though. It definitely seems to suggest we need a movie answer, but those are the only obvious choices right now. I'm going to try some more things on the site, but before that I'm giong to email Eva about some of her favorite movies.

I remembered that Geist was a movie in 2005, tried that, didnt work.

Then I IMDB'd Geist and tried every movie title result relating to it that I could find. NONE worked.

tried:
/deepbluesea (Jack Geist as actor)
/juliesgeist (movie)
/geldundgeist (not 11 letters but worth a try)
/thedarkling (came up in a related search)
/MDGeist (again not 11 letters but thought was worth a try)

A lot of german horror movies come up since Geist is german for ghost.

I also tried IMDBing Keir Jones just in case this was a person who was an actor, but no luck.

EDITTT:: forget all my last edits. keirjones.com and keirjones.co.uk have no link.

There has to be a set way to discover the name of the movie. I can't see them putting that out there with only our imaginations and movie titles to endlessly plug in to the end of the web address. Then again, maybe they would.
