[GREY DISTRICT]Four Keys[SOLVED] in The Brotherhood
Quote:
What are the four keys? Order is irrelevant
I've attached the background image in case it's significant. And judging by the incredibly large size for a *.png file, it's significant. Time to start searching for "keys", people!

so i did a search of the DC site for the word "key" and i got four hits. I'm not sure if there is any relevance, but i was linked to four news articles.
they are:
http://www.deuscity.com/index.php?deus_news_id=18
http://www.deuscity.com/index.php?deus_news_id=25
http://www.deuscity.com/index.php?deus_news_id=30
http://www.deuscity.com/index.php?deus_news_id=40
If you look at the last one, it kinda seems that PEACE is slapping you in the face.
What do you think?[/url]

I also found a news article about "The Four Keys to Cosmology"
http://www.sciam.com/article.cfm?articleID=0005DCFC-253F-1FFB-A53F83414B7F0000
Maybe it has some relevance due to the whole Temporal Communication issue?
According to the article the four keys are:
Quote:
As deeply mysterious as acceleration is, if you just accept it without trying to fathom its cause, it solves all kinds of problems. Before 1998, cosmologists had been troubled by discrepancies in the age, density and clumpiness of the universe. Acceleration made everything click together. It is one of the conceptual keys, along with other high-precision observations and innovative theories, that have unlocked the next level of the big bang theory.
Age, Density, Clumpiness, Acceleration?
Seeing as it's in The Brotherhood, i'm not sure if this would even apply at all, but I figure I'd post it just in case. :-p

I know I've done a ton of posting already, but my gears are a turnin!
I just found a post that Theo made in the Alley forum and I know it has some part in this, but it's still speculation.

I've found a few translations of his latin.
It's a proverb of sorts.

Also, I've been manipulating that png a little. You can play with the light/contrast and it almost seems like there's a reflection of a person standing there but no details.
I also turned thr image 90 degrees clockwise and then squished it vertically. When you do that, it then seems like the bright light (now on the right hand side of the image) is the sun and there are two planets to the left of it?
I don't know! bah. I need some others to bounce ideas off of. STOP SLEEPING EVERYONE! :-p

Unfelt,
because the file is so big, it probably means there is something hidden in it.
check out the unforums ARG tutorial for more information on stenography.

sounds good
I read that there could be things in png's but i wasn't able to find anything to help. might be because my brain is starting to turn into a sleepy mush, but thank's for the shove in the right direction!

bah. someone else will have to have a crack at it :-/
i couldn't get the majority of progs i got to run, and the few that did didn't turn up anything. I do have a report from one that i don't necessarily know how to read, but it doesn't look like there's anything of signifigance
edit: if there's a reddy out there that wants to run some steno work on it and comes up with something i'll glady test it out. :-p heh

I tried randomly guessing some passwords with the steganographic angle.
One reason people use png files instead of the other formats is they're lossless--that means the files are 10x larger, but the lines are much sharper--it could just be somethign they had to do to make the small lines visible like that. So there are many possibilities.
Still looking into stuff, although I'll probably spend more time on the Phil's 7 Deadly Sins thing.

Darn... I just waisted almost all my credits. I found "The four keys to hearing God's voice" on the net. Sounded like a brotherhood thing to me.
I tried (don't know if the spoiler shutter is needed)

Ran StegSpy on the file...says there is indeed stenography detected, and that Hiderman was used.
Hiderman can hide any type of file in any other type of file, so the field is wide open.
So, anyone have time to try and crack this?

Looks like someone could use a little spelling tutorial unless we are supposed to view "relevant" as a clue.

StegSpy says that the image contains hiderman encryption, but I downloaded Hiderman v3.0 and it couldn't find any hidden files.
Either StegSpy is wrong or it's encrypted with a higher version of Hiderman, which seems very hard to find.

I'm having trouble even pulling the image from the site.

You need to rightclick and check the source code for the file location. The url is http://www.deuscity.com/images/fourkeys/4K.png
