[INFO] [REF] Pat and Dave's Replies
those not related to Circle or Triptych or Lost Cat theories

Hi, Pat and Dave, brilliant site! I am a bit curious about the pictures in the gallery. Were they all sent in, or did you take them yourself?

Patrick wrote:

Most of the pictures were sent to us. We used to have a few contacts in Japan until they came to Somerset on an exchange trip and met us. We didn't go to Japan as Dave had a 'funny feeling' about the plane and some numbers he kept seeeing everywhere. We had to get off the plane and go home. Anyway, we really like getting photos of anything that seems odd and needs investigating.

I didn't know where I should post this so I decided here was as good a place as any. There is a new timehole video up on youtube.

its about a string theory I'm not sure if I understood the time part correctly. I understand what he was infering but if you were to go back just in time and not move through space too then you would probably end up in space somewhere since the planet is moving the sun is moving and the galaxy is moving. if you move back in time to the same place in the galaxy that you were in, you would be in space not on earth. I guess Ill go ask them.

What's the name of the book?

Can anyone tell if they say the name of the book they borrowed from the Library and if so, what is it?

Just found this on the wiki page for String Theory http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/String_theory

Quote:
Another theory named string theory was used in the science fiction television series Quantum Leap. In the series it relates to a theory of time travel, and is not related to accepted String Theory. It views a person's life as a string that moves from one end to the other. However, if it were possible to roll up this string into a ball it would be possible to leap from one section to another, as the main character of the show does.

Which sort of ties in with the name of Pat's old band and what he was describing in the video

Don't think there is any mention in he video of what the library book was - maybe someone should ask them on their forum

You couldn't move just in time and not through space - it's not theoretically possible because time and space are interwoven. If you move through space, you move through time, and vice versa (though Godel and a few other people have something quite different and mind-blowing to say about that, heh). It gets interesting when you move "through" [theoretically] worm holes, etc., but even then you are [theoretically] shortcutting through spacetime. Here is a visual aid: imagine that you are at the observer point at a certain x,y,z coordinate as you move up the time axis. You are still moving through each corresponding time's "sheet" of space (here represented with a 2-D plane), and your x,y,z,t coordinate changes each moment. It's sort of like not being able to walk into the same river twice.

Though that^ isn't really what they are talking about anyway. They are talking about the idea that *this moment* is happening right now in an infinite number of worlds that are just like ours - basically, parallel universes. It's funny, though, that they say "THAT is string theory" because, while many string theories address the many-world concept extensively, THAT isn't really what string theories are about. String theories deal with matter, and came about as an attempt to resolve the current incompatibility between relativity and quantum mechanics. Reconciling gravity with the other three forces of nature through explaining matter as strings or branes is what string theories are about, while parallel worlds, higher dimensions, leaking gravity, etc. are sort of like... mathematical side effects.

That said, I love the video. I think their goal is to present Pat and Dave as these funny paranoid dorks whom nobody takes seriously, and the actors are doing a marvelous job of it! I also think that all of this is to lead us up to them trying to prove that Erwin is really in a parallel universe right now, and that in the end they'll be all "OMGWTFBBQ!11!!WEWERERIGHTWEWERERIGHT!!ELEVENTYONE!!!1! NOW WHO'S YO DADDY" about it Mr. Green

OK, just noticed this over at the timehole forums:

Quote:

David - Neither Patrick nor I know anything about anything called welovebeef.co.uk . Timehole Productions is not running a 'grassroots' Alternate Reality Game of any kind. If you should receive any communication and/or injury from taking part in something we know nothing about, it isn't our fault. Just to repeat, welovebeef.co.uk is not a game.

Patrick - Yes it is.

David - Shuttup. I explained this to you.

Patrick - We know nothing about it what ever it is.

David - So in reply to the post, we wouldn't know anything about welovebeef.co.uk, for instance things like that something might happen in the following week if you were to check the site, or something.

Patrick - This is not a game by the way.

time to start checking www.welovebeef.co.uk? an arg within an arg? could be interesting. then again, could just be a little joke.

Topic Eva's ok
Patrick wrote:

We're glad to see that Eva's got her computer working again, we were worried. She still seems stressed though. We're still working on our lost cat theory. It seems it is possible for a cat to make it to the US although we're still not sure how Erwin got there. We can't work out who's been monitoring Eva, it seems to be more than just RFID. Dave keeps going on about this Keir Jones bloke I think Dave's jealous, personally I think he's ok. Someone else is behind all this and it doesn't look as if it's Bryan Wilson, he looks pretty harmless to me. We've been busy...doing something. Cool

jwiv wrote:

Patrick - I think you're right about Kier. He seemed a bit dodgy at the first, but he's been on the up and up with Eva.

As for Erwin, could it be possible that he somehow has the ability to cross over into other dimensions sans the use of devices such as the three steps?

David wrote:

Patrick - Mmm. Yes it's possible that animals have some kind of sense or ability to move dimensions without using the three steps which we haven't. As Michael Marshall Smith points out, that's why cats always seem to want to be on the other side of the door. Wink

David - You've never read that book you've just pinched that idea from somewhere. That reminds me we've had another letter from the library about you're overdue Harry Potter books. And what's this about me being jealous of Keir Jones? Ridiculous.

Patrick - Sure Dave. :-*

David - What does that mean?

(bold is mine)
