looking at the way he's worded it, perhaps a solution is again on a particular column?

Just sticking it into a binary converter, all in one piece gives me this...

Probably refers to some sort of Vignere Key. Phrasing it as, "the key is on the key," is probably the most frustrating thing they could have done, but I suppose it means that the latter key in an actual physical key.

A picture is 5. The fifth picture in Linderman's archieves is Godsend... which, if you'll allow me to clutch at straws, has a key-like shape. Godsend as a vigenere key doesn't shed any light though.

It's also possible that Future Hiro is using japanese numerology again where 5 can mean self, me and myself. He might just mean that he has the picture.

there might have been a reason why they removed that. maybe it could mean for every 100 (like 100 pennies) in the binary, add 3000 to alter the binary so it can make sense.

The sequence paired off into what could be chess moves..

1. e2 e4 White pawn to e4
2. h7-h5 Black pawn to h5
3. d2-d4 White pawn to d4
4. a7-a5 Black pawn to a5
5. g2-g4 White pawn to g4
6. h5xg4 Black pawn captures g4

And the results of the first
six turns. Anybody want to 'play' out the rest and see if it really is chess?
