LOL, your not kidding, they're posting answers faster than I can update over here.

For the last code we started with this from Brian's blog

Okay, kids, here's your first gift. If any of you one-layer meatbags manage to get the wrapping paper off, you'll have one of the three components of the Data, just because I love you so so so much. Just keep in mind that it's pointless without the other two parts, so keep the bids coming.

Three clues to what you're looking for, where it is, and what it does...
1) By Bells, by Trumpets, by Lights and Torches, by the report of Muskets, I can be executed with any object at all, provided the object is capable of a positional notation with a radix of 2.
2) preachtim, sonica, havicer
3) Ringo says John, Paul, George are keeping secrets!!

Merry Christmas.

The First clue
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
is a Francis Bacon quote, and a reference to binary.

The Second clue
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
is three anagrams for "Primatech, casino, archive"

The Third clue
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
is supposed to point us towards a JPG, its assumed Ringo is a red herring atm

From there we found certain images on the Corinthian Casino webpage contained binary
Roullette Wheel
Bar Photo
"The President Stands Alone"(disable Flash to see this one)

When lined up in order the binary translates to

Congratulations you have found a very important piece of information: 2007:0db8:85a3:08d3:1319:8a3e:0270:7234

Code 3 on http://www.samantha48616e61.com/ is

I think credit goes to charly for the solve.

let me know if I missed anything, or if anything is unclear.

Do you guys realize that in about 48 hours, they had solved all three codes? And before the clues were even online? we're solving stuff even before they get stuff online.

sounding out the numbers gets you the correct sequence.
6 = (one six) 16 = (one one, one six) 1116 ect.
until you get 132116 (three one(s), one three, one two, one six) 31131216
http://flickr.com/photos/31131216

Damnit, I actually figured this out on my way home. But there's a problem here. That's not the correct answer to the puzzle. The last number in the series is 132116. By using the method you described above, you should get
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
1113122116, because its one 1, one 3, one 2, two 1's, and one 6.
You create the next number by reading the digits and their amounts in order.
So my question is how the hell did you come to the answer you came to? It seems like you just applied the method randomly, so I don't really follow.

it looks like they weren't going strictly sequential. rather, counting all the numbers in the string, rather than just the numbers in sequence.
Spoiler (Rollover to View):
In 132116, two possible answers are there, both methods give the same results for the first sets of numbers:
A) there are three 1's, one 3, one 2, and one 6. Or,
B) there is one 1, then one 3, then one 2, then two 1s, then one 6
They were using A =)

What's the link between the flickr page and this? I see you spotted the numbers on the boat and how they linked back to the first code. But so what? What was the point there? And I'm not exactly sure what the point to this chase was in the first place. If people were keeping up with the casino website (I wasn't, but I'm sure there were plenty of Heroes fans over there that were), why did we have the whole chase with this guy's blog in the first place? How exactly did they know that Beatles clue linked back to a picture?

I *may* have an answer to that last one. The line is a subtle reference to the movie "Hard Days Night". At one point in the movie, Paul's granddad (he's very clean) its sitting alone with Ringo and stirs him up, convincing him the band is against him. Ringo bolts right before they're supposed to go on air and ends up wandering around town taking pictures. So if they're referencing that and I understood the clue correctly, awesome. I just don't understand how the 9th Wonders crew made the leap without figuring it out.

Ok, those are all the questions I have.

Ok, but using method A, wouldn't you logically call out the numbers sequentially? ie three 1's, one 2, one 3, and one six?
Like I said, it seems a tad random because it doesn't explain how you got the previous numbers in the sequence.

Ok, let's try this again. And I think it's sufficiently late enough to end the spoilers...
using logic from A

taking numbers as they appear in order, and counting all their instances in the string before removing them all:
1) '6'
2) one 6 = '16'
3) one 1 (leaving '6'), one 6 = '1116'
4) three 1s (leaving '6'), one 6 = '3116'
5) one 3 (leaving '116'), two 1s (leaving '6'), one 6 = '132116'
6) three 1s (leaving '326'), one 3 (leaving '26'), one 2 (leaving '6'), one 6 = 31131216

That's the logic.
as opposed to your (and my initial) understanding of the puzzle -
taking the count of sequential numbers from the beginning of the string, then removing only those:
1) '6'
2) one 6 = '16'
3) one 1 (leaving '6'), one 6 = '1116'
4) three 1s (leaving '6'), one 6 = '3116'
5) one 3 (leaving '116'), two 1s (leaving '6'), one 6 = '132116'
6) one 1 (leaving '32116'), one 3 (leaving '2116'), one 2 (leaving '116'), two 1s (leaving '6'), one 6 = 1113122116

Make sense now? Wink

The first code was actually found ahead of scheldule because it was a reused code (HRG's initial login on the PrimatechPaper sight I think), so originally the PMs planned that clue to be found on the Flickr page. Players just beat them to it.

The Beatles reference was
Quote:
Ringo says John, Paul, George are keeping secrets!!

John Paul and George is supposed to stand for JPG. It was originally thought images would be found on Ringo.com. IMHO not the strongest puzzle since really only the second clue was necessary for the solve. Unless (since I'm not sure when the new pics w/ binary were put up, I don't know) they waited until they saw the first clue from the blog was solved then they posted the pics w/ binary to prevent a F5-happy player from stumbling upon them.

As far as the point of the chase, I thought it was fun Very Happy . Keep in mind also this is all still just a test run, I'm sure someone would have stumbled upon all of these clues without Brian's blog, but I'm guessing the PMs want to see how the community handles this type of puzzle trail.

Yep, I think it was just too late the first time I read that. A little sleep and coffee make a world of difference.

A bit of miscommunication here. I didn't initially understand that the first code had been discovered accidentially. That's why the race to the flickr site seemed pointless. I get it now. It does seem a bit haphazard then that they would give us the second code first (the Vietnam docs) and then point us to a website that leads to the first and third codes. It definitely seems like they're upping their game and next season's ARG will be interesting.

Update from Hana

Hana has just updated her blog
Quote:
On Monday, the City of New York will begin a five-day test on their new computerized voting machines — one borough per day.

At the same time, Linderman's top computer programmers will be conducting a test of their own. They will be testing a program designed to rig the election without alerting the New York Voting Authority.

And that's where you come in. I need everyone here, each day, to reverse the manipulated votes in order to expose the flaws in their system and shut them down.

Tell everyone you know to help. You don't need to be technically gifted. I will open a portal and provide the tools needed to achieve our goals. Anyone can help make a difference for the future, from the very youngest among you to the very oldest.

So sleep well this weekend. Next week is going to be busy.

Sounds like it's going to be fun...I'm so happy I'm finished school next week. Only two exams to go. Then I'm going to eat, sleep, work and ARG. We need t-shirts with that on them.

I never cease to be amazed by the brilliance of everyone who has been helping with our cause. In no time, you cracked the username, password, and IP address for Linderman's voting tests.

But that, I'm afraid, is only the beginning.

Go to my website before Monday for further instructions: www.samantha48616e61.com.

If we are to succeed, we must all pull together.

Am I the only one that doesn't really want to help Hana with this part?

I mean, a rigged election is a great story. The last episode of the show revealed that Nathan could be in the white house very soon. The painting in Lindermans archive supports this. That would be amazing to see, even if it is a little corrupt.

I mean, I know the PMs will go ahead with their story regardless of what we "players" do but I was quite looking forward to the 'Nathan as president' thing. I hope this game doesn't completely cast out that plot line.

hm, well, i had been entirely discounting the possibility of the game driving the show. but i suppose it's in the realm of possibility. This game as a whole has been surprisingly me with how integrated they are trying to make it. (Yes, i know, there will be considerable argument with that assessment. it is getting a lot more interesting with each passing bit you know)

Hana has had small presence in the show, as if she were created just to drive the game. That would be a fFirst, i think: creating a pivotal character which appears in the main stories and episodes, but is largely fFor the benefit of the game.

examples of my point: No character fFrom AI appeared in the beast, a game which existed mostly to explain some parts of why the world is the way it is in the movie; no characters fFrom the halo games appeared in ilovebees, although ilb has references to halo characters and events; while the lost experience built upon the the Lost mythology, no characters have transitioned between the game and the show; err.. and Benjamin Stove probably doesn't drive a GM, either.

Anyway. I'm not altogether sure how much I'd like nathan petrelli as president. sure he can fFly (!!!), but the dood has campaign scandals in spades. (which, ok, doesn't say a lot about his ability to run a country, but .. eh)
