Think it just says:
Univerity of Life Studies West of England
From the front page of the SRI website
Quote:
Formerly a department of University of Life Studies West of England, SRI now functions as an independent associate of ULSWE, taking in a select number of new bursary students for each academic year.

Spares by Michael Marshall Smith From Eva's profile the last book she read was Spares by Michael Marshall Smith. So naturally, i had to find out more about it and this is what i got from wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spares
Quote:
Spares is a novel by Michael Marshall Smith first published in 1996, it was the follow-up to his highly acclaimed debut Only Forward .
Set in a futuristic fantasy world, with the first person narration of Jack Randall an ex cop and Gap war veteran. As in his other works, the narration is funny and readable, while you are conveyed through a series of disturbing and horrific scenes. Jack has been working as a caretaker in an isolated "Farm" hiding away from the world he has abandoned. The Farm is a place where clones (Spares) of the mega-rich and powerful are kept as the ultimate insurance policy - you lose an eye, ear or limb, you can get a replacement from your Spare. However when Jack starts to interact with the Spares he realises that they could have lives for themselves, so when one of them is due to be mutilated for the benefit of her double, Jack must go on the run with the Spares and confront the past of pain, loss and addiction he has been hiding from.
Dreamworks purchased the film rights for Spares but a film was never made. The similarities of the plot of Spares to the 2005 film The Island have been commented on.
But that's not the interesting part. That comes by following the link to Only Forward especially the section about The City.

The City
The City is a sprawling mass of neighbourhoods, each one geared to the interests and tastes of its residents. Neighbourhoods in The City include:
* Colour is where Stark lives along with his cat Spangle. Colour is one of the more easygoing neighbourhoods, where the only entry requirement is an appreaciation of colour. The 'street colour co-ordinator computer' controls dynamic murals and streetlights which change colour to match or complement the clothes of nearby residents. Epileptics are banned from the neighbourhood as the constant shifting of colours could be dangerous to them. After 7pm residents venturing outdoors must wear the regulation black jacket, otherwise the street colour co-ordinator computer will sound the alert for an 'improperly dressed person'
* Red is home to Ji and is an extremely dangerous neighbourhood. Controlled by feuding ganglords, prostitution, guncrime and drug culture are accepted pastimes of residents. Ji has his headquarters in a bar named BarJi, from here he plans and launches his takeover bids for other areas of the neighbourhood. Hu is generally accepted to be the most dangerous area of Red - an attack on Hu leads to Ji discovering that his brother Snedd is one of the rival ganglords that he was trying to kill. The two of them team up and together take over more of Red.
* The Action Centre is a yuppie office worker's paradise. It's a hive of activity designed for those who have to be doing something all the time - every second is spent in advancement of their own interests and status is everything. Actioneers often sleep at their desks at night in order that no-one can sneak in and steal their hard earned places. The ACIA are the intelligence service of the Action Centre, it's agents are identified by their violet cufflinks. The Action Centre is home to Zenda Renn and Fell Alkland.
* Stable is a closed neighbourhood. The authorities zealously guard their neighbourhood against the outside world, its residents believe that they are the only survivors of a nuclear war. The windows to the outside are infact vidscreens put in place by the authorities in order to perpetuate the belief that there is nothing but a radioactive wasteland beyond the city walls.
* NatSci is a neighbourhood for geeks, its residents are all scientists and inventors. NatSci is a provider of technology to other neighbourhoods, including a weather control system to Stable and fast computers to the Action Centre. NatSci has a number of high tech facilities itself, including street cleaning robots which compete against each other to pick up litter.
* Fnaph - Little is known about this neighbourhood except that its residents believe that the human soul is shaped like a frisby and spend their time bouncing on trampolines trying to fling themselves into heaven.
* Idyll is a peaceful neighbourhood where Zenda Renn grew up. It is also home to the very old and weatherbeaten Nelson's Column.
* Cat neighbourhood is inhabited solely by cats. Humans come and go, some to visit their cats, others to stay briefly in the neighbourhood hotels. All of the shops are well stocked and the neighbourhood is clean and tidy -apparently kept that way by the cats. The neighbourhood is entered through a set of iron gates which refuse to let anyone other than true cat lovers in.
* Eastedge is a neighbourhood on the east coast of The City, bordering the sea. This is one of the points where Jeamland can be entered.
It may not be important but like Pat and Dave say "Nothing is a coincidence."

Waits for wierd dudes with European accents to call. I realize this makes me a less than ideal candidate but when i've just given an addy and phone number to someone who subsequently asks if i should be missed should I disappear, I feel absolutely compelled to answer yes

That's a bit of a strange question, eh. I'm waiting for them to call too. I don't have an answering machine yet so it'll be crazy.

I enrolled.
I notices everyone's seeing bears and the like in the rorschach blot. I saw a mushroom cloud being observed by two angels. It was onlt after reading what the others saw that I saw the bear. I don't know what that says about my mental state...

I signed up. On the inkblot I put that I saw Satan wearing a dress and being worshipped by four men.
The scary thing about that is that it was what I actually saw.
I think I need help. EEK

Re: New Directory and new info Could the second image's "K" be referring to Keir? That would imply that Wilson and Keir knew each other from a previous event.
Also... The third image... The 'mark-out' on the top (who Wilson is sending the letter to) is blotted out very poorly. I'm gonna try to see if I can read it.

The blanked out name and possibly address... The first name is clearly Richard. And I think the second name begins with a K but not entirely sure. If it is it could be the K the second image is referring too with the Damn K! comment.

K, just some thoughts on the letter:
-The letter being screwed up suggests that Wilson never sent it. ie. chose not to resign.
-It looks like Wilson is ultimately a good person, but has been pressurised and bound up in company politics. -Namely the majority funders of the SRI who seem to have gained influence over the organisation, which, in Wilson's words "compromises not only our students but (Wilson's) ability to live with (himself)".
-Why did Wilson not resign? Who is this 'Richard K' majority funder?
