Develop Who?
I am sure you heard or have read the announcement from our new Mayor Pence. "Developmentis is coming." I have really liked what Mayor Pence has done for Township in the first few months, but now... Big corporations in our town? What about traffic concerns? What about pollution? What about taking workers from the local small business community?

Call me old fashion, I just cannot see Developmentis being a good fit for Township Heights. Yes, they will bring some good elements, but gee wiz!

I am not the only resident that feels this way. I have been online chatting with other community members and they feel similar to me. Why did the community not get a say in this? What is next, The Shell Oil Company? Do not get me wrong, I want what is best for the community. I just wish we had more input on this matter.

Who knows, maybe Developmentis is a blessing in disguise...

See you on the flip side Smile

How de Dooo all;

Yes! Township Days are fast approaching and I cannot wait to participate. This should be the "must attend" event of the year.As they say "If you're not there, you are square!"

For all of you that have not eaten at the new "Italiano's Cafe", you are missing out. The service and food is premium all the way. It is my new favorite! How impressed was I when Chef Patrizzio came out to introduce himself to me. I will admit, he is attractive! After some very pleasant conversation he excused himself back to the kitchen to whip up some more Italian Delights! Four stars awarded... (Out of four stars... silly)

If you have been wondering like the rest of Township Heights who donated the $$$ for the new Aquatic Center? I have dug up some information, I am not at liberty to officially say but it may have been a local corporation! I will post more when developments occur (Wink Wink)...

OK, not to mention actual names, but I did recently see a local establishment owner in Township Park with the new local news anchor. I wonder if this is a "major" development?

Until next time...

Quote:
Wassuuuuppp!

Wow what a great time to live in the Township. The new aquatic center is almost complete just in time for the Township Days Festival. I must admit, I was not the first person to welcome Developmentis to town ( read my posting "Develop-Who"), but after seeing what they have done over the past year...WOW They are truly a corporation for the community.

I being a very physical person cannot wait to take the plunge and rise early to get in a few laps before work. I have always been a good swimmer. Actually I was the fasted in the 50 yard dash in elementary school. Something I still hold dear to my heart.

Attention Attention!

New resident listings are available, if you are looking to expand your current living area or just would like to change, contact my friend Jan about these new beauties. If you do not... I just might.

Until next time, "Enjoy Life" as Mayor Pence would say

Quote:
Ahoy!
Well I have been out and about again. Lots of busy people and businesses in Township these days. I would like to clarify that I do not officially affiliate myself with the local Township News Publication, many of my readers assume I am employed by them, we all know what happens when you assume something, don't we.

Ok now... I am very happy to report (unofficially of' course) that this years Township Days celebration will be visited by some very famous entertainment acts. In a few days, once I get the official word I will let you know who is coming and who is not. Lets hear it for the THCC for helping out the Township Days committee getting this off to a great start.

Now for my rant if you will. I am not happy with the new parking meters. I am a little of a "germ-a-phobe" and now I have to touch those things to leave a hand print to park in my favorite downtown spots. Really, what is wrong with using ole fashion change? Germs, Germs everywhere! I am a big fan of Developmentis, but why on earth did they have to develop a new parking meter. I know about the complaints about broken coin slots, not having enough change, etc. but really. Germs!

Quote:
Welcome to Township!
Let me be the first to say, "Welcome to Township". I have actually met some of the first new residents and they seem wonderful. Of' course, they have lots to learn about Township, but didn't we all? Please be sure to stop by and tell them about Township or just say a nice "Hello".

The Tdays festival is fast approaching and I am just busting with excitement. Especially with the wonderful food. Ohhh the food... I will admit I cannot control my urges and desires when it comes to the grilled specialties available at the outdoor food banquet. At least I will have 365 days after Tdays to lose and excess weight Wink

Now to a sad note. I was informed late last night by a my sister, who knows a cousin of a former Township Mayors Office employee, that the former assistant to the mayor was involved in a freak accident involving a small gas leak and a large explosion. I am not sure why the local paper has not mentioned it, but I feel as a community member we should have some type of memorial or plaque... something. He did serve Township for several years and help all those in the mayor's office.

OK, lets move on. I was listening to the new releases from the Bill Brazel Band. I like 'em!
They really get me thinking and in the mood to groove! Yes, I can dance. I will have you know that I was actually on the popular 1980's show Solid Gold as a guest golden dancer for one episode. I will have to dig my beta-max out someday.

Alright, that is all for today!
Welcome the new residents...

Quote:
Another day another day!
Where do I begin? First off, more residents are here. Yes! I have spoken to several of them. Looks like a great addition to our community. Although they appear a little nervous at times, it is just the newness of it all.

Had a wonderful time last night at the Establishment Lounge. The ladies and I got together for a good ol'e girls night out! I cannot even imagine a place that is more fun, entertaining and have I mention how clean the Establishment is? You know me. Speaking of germs( I know enough with the germs) I swear every time I use the Park Touch system my hand tingles. I am sure it is all in my head. It is just weird.

Once again another interesting sighting of sorts. I had a nice visit with Major Tom last night and as we were saying our good-byes, someone else of interest walked up. You got it, our own local news anchor. Official word is nothing is going on, but I can tell when two people are attracted to one another, and I am not just talking gravity Wink

Did I ever tell you I was a physics major while at the University? That was a while ago. Needless to say, I have moved on to better things in life. Such as Enjoying Life!

Must move on, enjoy! posted 9:13:47

Things of interest?
Time for another installment of Mrs. K Blog! I can say this outlet so fun for me. I actually wanted to be a news anchor when I was younger. Not that I am disappointed or anything. I honestly can say my life is full and fun.

Back to the new residents. Seems some of them have been emailing me some very interesting tidbits about Township. I am glad to see they are all feeling comfortable enough to make contact with me. Rest assured that we are all safe in Township and things are just fine dandy!

I see the Mayor has returned from his National Business Tour. I wonder what other economic wonders he has in store for Township in the coming months. I actually have a one on one Blog interview with him later today. Feel free to email me with any questions you would like me to ask him. I will try my best to fit them in. Of' course, I have a list of my own. Such as;

• What type of water will the new aquatic center use? Chlorine based or Salt water based? My eyes cannot tolerate any chlorine.
• Why is the Township Heights clock always 5 min slow?
•What is his thoughts on extending the Township Days celebration another day?

I have many more which I hope he will answer.

OK, going to get my hair done for the big interview

See you later, if you do not see me first! posted 8:45:12 Today

Ms. Kravits announcement of appointment / Mayor Pence intevi

Township Heights Interview with Mayor Pence:
Interviewed by Ms. Kravits
"Township Heights Official Blog Author"

MsK: Thank you Mayor Pence for inviting me to your library.

MP: It is my pleasure. I am always happy to communicate with the residents of Township Heights. I must say you are having a great hair-day?

MsK: Ohhh, Thank you very much. I just whipped this together this morning as I was running a little late.

Msk: First, how was the National Business Tour you just returned from?

MP: I would say it was a great success. I really feel that outside businesses and corporations are really looking into Township Heights as a great place to set up their corporate offices. I made several great contacts and I hope to make several official announcements in the coming months.

MsK: Great.

MsK: Here is a question asked by one of our new residents.
What are the most significant changes you have seen in the community in the past year since you have been the Mayor?

MP: Well, I have to admit that I had it easy. Township Heights was already an excellent place to live and interact. I hope that over the last 12 or so months I have brought economic growth without sacrificing our community values. I think some of the new technologies I have helped bring into Township have improved the quality of life.

The new Aquatic Center is well on its way and should be a great place for family, community and social events to take place. I am currently in the process of planning the grand opening.

Msk: Ohh. I am all about grand events. I am sure it will be a great gathering of the community.

Msk: Speaking of the Aquatic Center, what type of "water" disinfecting or cleaning will it utilize?

MP: How scientific of you Ms. K., I believe the TH Board is planning on utilizing a system which generates chlorine by electrolysis of dissolved salt using an electrical cell. I think this type is referred to as a "salt water" pool. Usually the cost is more up front, but it is easier on the eyes and is considered child friendly.

Msk: That sounds absolutely wonderful.

Msk: Here is another question from a new resident.
What prompted you to leave Developmentis Corporation to become the Mayor of Township Heights?

MP: I can tell you Ms.K that it wasn't an easy one. I had accomplished many things at DevCorp and built many relationships over the years. It was hard to leave. However, I saw a chance for me to give back to society and serve the public. It was a whole new challenge. I can tell you I feel very good about the decision, it feels good to be serving the public and giving back.

MsK: Wow, it must feel great.

MP: Speaking of the new arrivals, I still need to get out and meet them. I have been so busy. I am going to make a point to do a walk-around town later this week.

MsK: I am sure they would love to meet you.

MsK: There has been some debate about extending the Township Days Festival, what are your thoughts?

MP: This has been discussed with the TH Board and the TD Committee. However the planning into events such as the "Fire in the Sky" finale would be all but impossible to reschedule for this years festival. However, it may be a possibility in the years to come.

MsK: Another question from one of my new Blog followers.
Is the Park-Touch program working as you hoped and is it more efficient than the old meters?

MP: So far the data from the Park-Touch Program has been very promising. Most citizens are enjoying the freedom of parking without the need to have coins in order to visit the businesses in the main street area. So far they have about a 98% uptime status compared to the 84% for the old meters. I would say the Park-Touch Program is working very well and I am pleased with my decision.

MsK: On a bit of a sad note, how are you doing after the recent accident of Mr. Ridge?

MP: I am deeply saddened by the events surrounding my former assistant. He was an excellent person, dedicated employee and a model Township Heights Citizen. After his sudden illness required him to resign from his position, I wasn't able to speak with him, although I did send him a note of gratitude and good wishes for his future. I am planning to set up a Wall Memorial in the central corridor of the Town Hall for his honorable service to Township Heights.

I should mention that I have been very fortunate to have hired Mr. Blankenburg as my new assistant. He has demonstrated similar qualities as Mr. Ridge and I look forward to moving on into the future with him as my loyal right hand man.

MsK: One last question from one of the newer residents.
Are you planning on participating in the Bill Brazel Band concert at the Establishment?

MP: I am one of many loyal fans of Bill Brazel. I find their music very entertaining, musical, and lets face it ... they "rock". I am currently setting up my travel schedule, so I am not sure if I will attend, but I sure would like to be there if I can.

MsK: I would really, really like to thank you for this opportunity, and for the thoughtful gift certificates to my favorite. It has been my pleasure.

MP: The pleasure was all mine Ms. K., I would hope we can do this again some day.

MP: I would also like to announce that I have officially designated you, Ms Kravits, as the "Official Township Heights Blog Author". Here is a plaque which is the official record of this designation for you to keep. I will also be stated your new honorary position at the next board meeting. This is just a way for the Mayor's office to show our support in what you bring to the community.

MsK: Ohhh my, I am totally surprised and speechless. Thank you I really do not know what to say.

What a Day!
Getting my hair done was just the beginning of this great day!
I know many of you are waiting for the inside scoop on the interview with Mayor Pence. Well, I have been busy putting the good stuff together for you.

Let me first say that the interview was everything I had hoped. The Mayor is extremely smart, well dressed, and a gentleman. After greeting me with a small gift (Italiano's Gift Certificates), we proceeded into the Mayor's library where the actual interview took place. He was very open to answering most of all of my questions.

Ok, without further "ado"

Well, that was enlightening. /sarcasm About all I got from the interview was the bit about how the Aquatic Center water will be treated (actually sounds v. cool, if a bit ParkTouchy), and that THDays will not be extended (not that we know when they start or end anyway). The gift certificates to Italiano's have me starting to wonder if there's not something in the food there. Nothing good on Developmentis, which is disappointing but not necessarily surprising. And wasn't she conspicuously neutral on the parking meter issue? (somebody's got a cruuuuuush.....)

Ooh, and she got a plaque from the Mayor. A PLAQUE, people!! It must be love! Well, she seems awfully impressed by it. Rolling Eyes (Who thinks the plaque is bugged or otherwise hinky?) Either Ms.K's very easily distracted/bought off, or she wants to appear that way.

It appears somebody fiddled with her email so the warning sent to her would be garbled. We could try to warn her in chat, but I have a feeling she won't listen. And speaking of chat, here's hoping tonight's get-together spills over into the EL chat room - otherwise it's going to be pretty boring for us. Smile

And what of the gift certificates? Is Italiano's putting something in the food to make the residents "Enjoy Life" more?

After reading the decrypted message from Andy (mayor) to AC I realized that she needed to be warned about those certificates he gsve her. I sent her an email hoping that she catches on to my message but in a way that Net-guard won't mess with. We'll see:

I just hope she's not as dingy as she sounds and is able to figure it out. Cause I'm not so sure she can read through the lines.

I know! Thats why I did the most basic encoding I could do. If she doesn't catch on to this simple one then she may be in deep trouble.

New blog post today:

Enjoying life!
A little short post today, feeling a little under the weather, most likely just a little exhaustion. The last two days have really been exciting, but I do need to take a break. So, I am taking my first vacation in a long time. I am thinking somewhere with beaches, beautiful sunsets, and drinks with the little umbrellas.

Thank you to everyone who has emailed me and stopped me around Township to congratulate me on my new official appointment by the Mayor. I am really honored.

I will return a new person! Tan and well rested, ready to continue my duties as Township's Official Blog Author.

Until next time, Enjoy!

Robert's phone call to me mentioned people would disappear, then come back changed/different.

Perhaps his postcard was another clue (not where he went, I hope).

MsK is going to come back all happy about those parking meters.

It must be something in the food....and after the Aquatic Center is built, they can "infect" the entire community in large numbers.

But how can we stop Developmentis?

Dear Ms Kravitz,

I do so enjoy your blog. How wonderful you got to interview the mayor! Quite a coup!

From indications you have made in your blog, I understand you have some concern about germs. I have the perfect solution to the touch parking meters; gloves! Using gloves, you could scrub your hands well at home before going to the restaurant, since we all know how germy public restrooms can be!

Once you have touched the meter, and touched the menu in necessary, you could simply remove the gloves and have fresh, clean hands with which to eat.

I myself have used gloves on many occasions to prevent potential infection. There are so many terrible diseases around these days you know.

Besides, some of the residents may not be above lifting another person's fingerprints from an item in order to leave it at the scene of a crime!

I certainly hope the screening procedures used to determine who is eligible for acceptance into the community would eliminate entry of someone of that nature but one never knows!

Take care,
Pam Moore

P.S. I have found that plain white cotton gloves work best. They are relatively inexpensive and easy to disinfect.

I tried to warn her myself in my own convoluted way. Guess it didn't get to her in time.

Since MsK is on extended vacation we are introduced to a new blogger, Ms. Stone.

Ms. Stone wrote:
Good Afternoon;

I guess I should first introduce myself to everyone who lives in Township Heights. I am Ms. Stone. I will be filling in for Ms. Kravits while she is on her extended vacation.

Looks like our new residents are coming along nicely with the introduction process. I have seen many around town and in the various establishments. Although Township has a very particular culture, it is nice to have some new members to interact with.

The Mayor has selected a new assistant, Layton Caldwell, to help him run things in Township. I was able to personally meet Layton at a reception for the Mayor last night. he was very professional and intelligent.

The Aquatic Center is 90% complete and will be welcoming residents in the next month. Remember, all Township Heights Residents receive automatic family / individual memberships. I know I have already scheduled the opening on my I-Palm.

I have taken a page from Ms. K and visited Italiano's the other day. I would agree the food their is extremely well prepared. The setting is relaxing, inviting and well maintained. I have been informed that you should receive coupons in your TS email later this week for a free family meal.

Thank you for reading,

Ms. Stone
