Dang it, I don't want to drink any more of this junk! I just wanted to know how close I was to the deaddrop. Well, I guess you could Private message me at least the general area. And I agree with DarkHuman If you say ou found it normal people are going to stop looking for it. But we are ARGers this stuff is our life. If you found the location and found the coin or not, then let one of us know and we will confirm it. I don't see what good you coming on to our forum board shouting you found it, if you can't back it up.

By the way Unowho what is Geocaching?

Edit: Thanks Unowho, and Geocaching sounds fun!

Edit2: Well, once again I have way to much free time. I might as well go check it out. Since It is right down the street. I still think I had the clues for some other location. I would have never guessed it to be where it is.

Western Canada

Well I went back to the area first thing this morning after getting the 30th clue and I am positive I know where the coin should have been.

I looked around for about 30 minutes and found no coin and no sign of a coin so it was either found or I am dead wrong as to where it is.

Well if you need help with any of the clue, I have figured them all out...from clue 15 to about 21 I was sure it was in a totally different area.

Nashville area coin update...?
Anyone know about the fate of the Nashville coin yet?

I can't believe the paranoia of some of the posters here. We are all out here trying to have fun and maybe, just maybe win a little extra cash. I still have to get three more DPs into me and get the rest of the clues to have a more precise location on the Nashville coin, but if anyone has verifiable proof that it's been taken, I'd consider it a very kind act of charity to let me know so I can end this day at least even rather than $3.75 poorer and 60 fluid ounces heavier. Wink

I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!!

No, I didn't find the coin. Eastern Canada's was apparently found about 10 minutes before I got there. In a place I hadn't checked last night. I don't know whether I want to know if it was there last night or placed this morning. If the latter, I can rest easy, since I got there at the earliest possible time my travels could allow. Makes me quesy knowing though that some guys found it while I was on a bus a few blocks away...
Just as I arrived before 7:30am, 7 or 8 other people all seemed to emerge and congregate before two of the guys who had been there since 5am said that there were a couple other guys who found a pouch tied to a string attached to the white picket fence hidden by a bush, who ran suddenly, quickly, and trying to be inconspicuous. Of course, leaving so quickly after hunting is pretty much a sign you found it anyway.

I realized on way back I should have taken the string that held the pouch, just for the swag Razz.
It's a little frustrating though since the last couple of clues were apparently not fully accurate, and slightly misleading. If that coin was there last night, man, ... no, I won't think about it.
Shocked

I have read two accounts of the coin having been found...but one states it was found yesterday afternoon and one states it was found early this morning (@ 3am), which is funny since the bicentennial mall is closed from 9 pm till 6 am and the rules state that you must follow the rules of the site.
I have no idea if either of these are true or if they are the attempt of someone to throw us off the scent. Would really like to know from Dr Pepper so I know whether or not to drive over there with my 3 yr old in tow.

INDY Coin Confirmed FOUND!
thanks to unowho

Well, that was fun! aside from having a bunch of people looking at me like a weirdo planting a light bright in Boston and nearly falling on my a** seven times. That was pretty cool!

Someone needs to do more deaddrop ARG's, local to me that is.

Edit: Oh and I broke their pencil Dunno

I thought about keeping the little black box the coin was in. I might go back and get it later.

Oh, and I forgot ours had a little sign up sheet, to sign that you found the location. I dropped UF a little advertisement. Twisted Evil

Boston is getting ugly.

People have been milling about the supposed area now since 3AM at night, and at 10:00 AM (after FREEZING), we were told that the area is totally inaccessible by the Park Services and will remain so for the rest of the day. Unless the coin is somewhere else (and more than 20 people are wrong), there doesn't even appear to be any opportunity to anyone to place the coin, much less find it.

Dr. Pepper is aware of the situation, but won't or can't provide any information about what is going on or really do anything about it.

It was a friendly, but very Dr Pepper unhappy crowd. Good luck to the all nighters, that is devotion.

yeah...Boston was fun...I stayed till maybe 8-930am, I was the idiot that drove in from Natick, only cost me 11$ for parking, 3$ for tolls...and 4$ for coffee. good luck to all the other hunters, I don't think I'll make it back into the city to take a chance the area will be accessible.

Nashville Coin Found

I just called the Metro Parks and Recreation Bicentennial Mall office and per the park ranger that answered, the coin was indeed found yesterday afternoon. He said that they were advised of this from Dr Pepper.
Dang...was there in the morning...too bad I had to leave, might have found it.

It seems like this hunt is not going the way Dr Pepper had hoped it would, that it would take longer to find the coins than it has. I am sure that they didn't think there would be mobs of people milling around waiting for the drops to happen before the last clue was even given out!
I myself think that the clues got easier towards the end....maybe they should have gone the other way around with the clues..make them easy to find the general area and then hard to find the specific location.
But that is just my opinion and they did not ask me (obviously).

Perhaps the underestimated the power of the collective internet intelligence and the lure of prize$$.

If there is anything similar, such a contest may require more difficult or obscure clues. Or maybe puzzle solving to obtain the clues? Not sure how many folks became DrP drinkers b/c of this. Maybe only bought 30 bottles to get the clues and won't buy it again. Or those who were drinkers but not fanatics about it might stop drinking b/c they are angry (but habitual drinkers will always be Peppers, unless they mess with the recipe).

Nashville coin
I will verify Katethegreat's last post

I, too, have spoken with the park ranger at the Bicentennial Mall in Nashville, TN and been told that the coin in Nashville was found. So much for my chance at $1M. I may take the kids by there this afternoon or tomorrow and see if there's a list to sign or anything else worth looking at. The mall is nice in and of itself...

BTW, I just got a free Diet DP out of the Coke machine at work!!! I guess all is not a total loss... Laughing Now if I can only bring myself to drink the dern thing. Rolling Eyes I swear, no more Dr Pepper for me for a long, long time.

I'm a pepper

I've been an avid Pepper since my college days, in Waco, home of DP. I'll never switch, I was just glad to be able to play, and that a coin was in my city...(still kicking myself for not looking closer)

And for some reason our Speedway gas stations have been giving out free diet DP bottles to speedpass users! I guess I can start playing the instant win game now!
