are you Censored serious, your that little kid that found the code in oil creek state park pennsylvania and Censored told abc news you only used 18 clues? ive been working on this forever and i finaly narrow it down with 28 clues and drive 4 Censored hours after calling out sick from work. I finnaly get there and this little Censored 14 year old is in my spot with the Censored coin. i swear if they let your parents claim the prize for you im gonna spend my time figruing out where you Censored live because i know you got an inside tip on this, theres no Censored way you couldve found the coing with only 18 clues. sleep with 1 eye open kid, that money shouldve been mine

I censored the unnecessary language in that post above (but i left the typos in place).

In many contests with a single prize, I have also seen people post discouraging things like, "don't bother looking any further because I already found it," hoping to convince people to give up before it is really over, thus giving themselves a better shot at winning later for themselves. Trust no one on the internet who posts as an anonymous guest.

That being said, stay away from my coin! We killed ourselves wandering a certain park yesterday, only to get the next clue at midnight which told us how much of that area was out of bounds. I wish there was a way to know whether the coin is still there -- or whether it has even been put in place yet.

The only one I know that's been found is the virtual coin. I don't have the link on hand, but apparantly someone screwed up his answer, called 10 min later, and it was found, roughly 20 min after the posting of the phone number to call.

I called the verification number today, to inquire about whether or not my territory's coin had been found. They said they had no idea, but I wasn't the first caller in my area to ask. The verification number said that only Dr Pepper had the information, and that they'd be posting on their site regularly. Needless to say, that wasn't the case.

At present, my guess is that the coins were placed on the same day the virtual coin went 'live'. I'm still going to hunt tonight and all day tomorrow and wednesday, but I'm not optimistic. It's a really small area now, and anyone with a day off today has beaten me to the punch.

I'll keep you posted if any surprises happen though. Wink

Northwest wandering
Dr.Pepper Hunt...

Totally hooked, got clue 28 today. I'm zeroed in on the greater northwest treasure. I do hope the coin gets put in place the 21st. I've got to fly to the place or drive 8 hours. If they wait till like 23rd and I've already left - that would blow.

I'm zeroed on the virtual hunt too. 2 more clues and you better have faster fingers to dial than me Smile

 So many clues....

I wish there was some way to find out if coins have been found.....hate to buy like there is no tomorrow just to find out someone found it two days earlier. Also...what is the deal with putting it out before the 21st...that is really not fair!
I am trying not to get too confused by conflicting clues...keeping my nose to the grindstone..can anyone tell me if they get more specific towards the end or are they still "go east/west/north/south from this random location"?

Yeah, my stomach's been one big pool of Dr. Pepper for the last month. When I called in (just to see what was on the other line) a couple hours after the virtual number was released there was already a message saying someone found that sucker. Frankly, that must've been one lucky guess because the rules said the specific location needed to be named, and as of that date we all had the clue referring to south of the canal, which is still a pretty broad area. When I called again yesterday for kicks and giggles, I got an actual operator that told me that all the coins were indeed placed as of yesterday, but wouldn't tell me anything else (like if any were found or not). Feel free to call and ask yourselves.

As far as whether or not the clues get more specific, I've figured out as of the 28th clue that its within a radius of several blocks, so I'm definitely not bopping around cities anymore. (And yeah, unless I see a news article referring to someone finding a coin in Oil Creek Park or wherever, I'd take that with a grain of salt, too)

I just wish I could find out whether or not the physical coin for my region was claimed or not, just so I can save the 3 hour drive.

When I called, the operator said the found coins would be posted on the dr.pepper website. I have yet to find any section that might show which coins were found, and the virtual coin announcement is still missing from the site.

I have no way to get to the area of my coin unless I can pursuade a friend to spend a few hours searching through nature...
'A few blocks' radius? wow... that's rough.

Yes, I am hunting in the south, although there might be more than one in the south. Not gonna spill the beans, although if we are in the same region might see you out and about!!

Well I've known exactly where the New York coin is for 2 days now.. but I'm too far away to go down there and check without knowing if it's there or has been placed yet.. and I'm sure if it was placed someone got it, cause the clues got way too easy at the end..
So has anyone been looking in New York?
And any other sites that people have been posting on for help?
