When were coins placed?

When were the coins placed? I searched the San Francisco site on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday morning. In this particular location, the coin was found at ~11:00am on Monday at the bench I searched each day, making placement Sunday evening or Monday morning. I suspect all were hidden about the same time. Dr. Pepper held off long enough to make sure it wouldn't be found accidently, but before the 21st because they knew people would be sitting on the site by then. When I called the Dr. Pepper site at 10:00am Monday, the operator thought "a few" coins had been claimed. This matches with placement by early Monday morning.

I think most coins were found Monday and Tuesday with a few being taken after the 30th clue. People sitting at the site waiting for placement now are crazy.

yeah...Boston was fun...I stayed till maybe 8-930am, I was the idiot that drove in from Natick, only cost me 11$ for parking, 3$ for tolls...and 4$ for coffee. good luck to all the other hunters, I don't think I'll make it back into the city to take a chance the area will be accessible.

I'm from Natick too, but didn't look in Boston yet <G> 1 question, where in Natick were you able to find your Dr Pepper bottles? The only place in the whole town where I found them was CVS! Haven't even seen the new Pepsi caps in Natick.

How many times is this going to be answered!?:

READ the rules again. It says they MAY not place the coin until the 21st. That means that they could place it ANYTIME before the 21st. Learn the difference between MAY NOT and CAN NOT!

There is a coin obviously in Alabama, I am wondering if anyone has heard anything about it? I can find no sign of where it should be, neither could 4904309 other people there.

Kansas City coin

A pal and I went for a gander today to find the coin in Kansas City, and came home without it. Oh darn, and we werent the only ones looking for it either, must have been 5 of us out there, scowering everything but the drug syringes and homeless peoples alcohol bottles, what a great place to hide something valuable, near hiv positive drug remnants!!!

Anyone have any clues on the Kansas City find?? Maybe where it was found?

dont even bother with the coins because no one is going to get them. dr pepper doesnt even have thier stuff together. there down to 1 lady on the coin hotline who has no idea what the canoe is going on, and the dr pepper phone number says closed for a staff meeting. what a poorly run company. this afternoon the one guy operator told me 20 coins had been found ATM. true or false idk but i doubt these coins exist, but for a better chance at money just wait and try and sue the nice people for breaking rules and what not.

If you think this is a hoax, then you must be expecting some heavy legal action to fall on Dr.Pepper in the near future.

They're doing a major contest with rules and requirements. If they don't follow their legal obligations, then they're in big big trouble.

No the Hunt for More is fully legitimate. Just a bit frustrating and confusing at this point, a little rough. But it'll be resolved somehow...

I wouldn't call it a hoax either. On the other hand, Soft Coin has some problems when their clues send someone in the OPPOSITE direction they are supposed to go with only 3 or 4 clues remaining. See the Pittsburgh coin - The clue regarding the shark (the USS Requin) puts the coin up in the XPlor Carnegie Science Museum/UPMC Sportsworks area - not at the Rooney statue. They should have sent people NE and instead sent them NW.

haha look on wikipedias section of the hunt for more. a few have links and about 3 give answers to the clue along with the final loaction of the coin. i agree with mike and i also agree these people made those up. one says the coin was here---
The coin was in a small magnetic black box, stuck to a black leg of the table inside the oval in the White River State Park
i dobut they use small magnetic boxes, and how are you gonna tell me it was stuck under a table and no random person found it. that doesnt seem likley to me. chances are random people/homeless people found the coins. and if these were all in parks they would most likley need permission to do so. 1st that would leave the park rangers and workers out of the contest which is unfair, but how do we know they dont tell relatives or friends? chances are its rigged in some extent, and i guarantee every person that does win either shouldnt have, or had inside help

I found the black magnetic box, we searched that table 3 times before we found it, it is very well hidden, white river state park is open 24/7, in the middle of downtown, no rangers.

Insanity

I really can't believe all the DIFFERENT types of responses that the operators have given people about this and the varied times that some of these coins seem to have been placed/found.

I called earlier today to complain and to try to get definitive information on whether the coin in NY had been found or not. I was told by the operator that they had NO information being fed to them and could only verify.

After I complained that I had already made a 5 hour round trip to NYC last night and didn't want to go again tonight unless I knew for sure that a coin might still be out there. She said that the coin would not have been there on the 20th when I was there but would be placed sometime within the 24 hr period of 12AM the 21st to 12Am the 22nd. She said this was definite. However, this is contrary to the posts of some saying coins were found up to 2 days in advance as confirmed by other operators.

I am going crazy and decided not to go back to the city figuring it must be found by now and I didn't want to waste time/money for nothing.

It's driving me crazy that I know exactly where this stupid thing is/was/should/would be.

This has all been very disorganized at best.

I understand that emotions are running a little high in this thread at times, which has a lot to do with the general frustration of how this thing is run. For one thing, this campaign has certainly not had a very positive effect on Dr. Pepper's image, which kinda makes you wonder.

I would nonetheless like to point out that unFiction will not accept obscenity or attempts to start any kind of flamewar on these forums. Please keep your posts decent folks.

dr pepper promotion
sweepstakes

Just entered a new code. the site does not accept any more than 30 for the hunt game, just the instant win. No updates there for whether the coin has been found in our location. oh, well...

People please also remember that Dr.Pepper, while overseeing the contest, is not directly involved in the contest.

If there are problems and difficulties and errors and mistakes and what have you, it's at the hand of the marketing firm handling this promotion which is Soft Coin Inc.

If anything, Dr.Pepper may learn not to use Soft Coin for their promotions again, but Dr.Pepper is not directly to blame for the problems and frustrations people are facing right now.

On that note, just for kicks I called up yesterday wondering about the virtual coin... I swear, through this part all that was runnig through my head was verizon..verizon..verizon..verizon... this part of my conversation pretty much went something like this (a shortened version):

Quote:
me: If I were to ask whether my virtual coin location guess was right, could you tell me?

Rep: I don't know, we don't have that information. You'll have to check the website

The website isn't being updated. So if I had found the coin and called this number who would confirm it?

The person you talked you

So you do have the information

I don't know sir, you'd have to check the website for who won the coins

I'm not looking for who won the coins, just for whether my guess is accurate or not.

We don't have that information sir, and the coin has already been found.

But, if I were the one who had found the coin, and I called this number as I was told to, who would confirm it?

Well, the person you talked to

So you do have the information then

I don't know sir, you'd have to check the website

...You don't know, or you can't say?

We don't have that information. Is there anything else I can help you with?

gaaaaah!
