Amorphous blobs idea
I think - maybe - I'm on to something

So, at the end of the latest library of babel update http://www.perplexcityacademy.com/libraryofbabel/thecube.html
there's a stack of puzzle cards, almost all with the "amorphous blobs" on. The topmost card, Puzzle Monsters, has been changed around to highlight the word "strata".
At the end of Operation Bayonet we got another clue:
Quote:
Form the layer.
Find the era.
Follow the Way.
Find the Cube.

This got me thinking about geological layers. Can anyone else see any similarity between the Jurassic layer in this map http://www.coalpro.co.uk/images/map.jpg
and the arrangement of blobs at the bottom of this page?
http://perplexcitywiki.com/wiki/Amorphous_Blobs
Of course, any geological map is going to be a bit fuzzy around the edges but I'm pretty sure on this one, especially with the shape of #253, near Portland Bill on the map, and the two sticky-out-bits of #250.

So then I started thinking about a "Way", and The Cotswold Way is in roughly the right place and does go past a place called "Leckhampton". Which is vaguely PXC related. Maybe.

Well, maybe not. But I think the Jurassic might be the Era we're looking for. What do you think?

On that basis, the shape arrangement is slightly wrong - 222 iss possibly where Cardiff is (South Wales) and 063 and 029 are pointing in the wrong direction.

I def think geology is the key, given the latest message...LAYER, ERA, WAY. Many of the promoted walking routes in the UK are based around geology...North Downs Way, Greensand Way, Pennine Way, Offas Dyke (OK man-made geology, but a feature none the less), Cotswold Way, The Ridgeway.

The cube must have been buried somewhere with public access and unless its buried actually on the path, it must be buried on public land (MC don't really want us digging up Mr Farmer's field now).

And surely it must be a fairly famous place, how else would have Sente/Scarlett (whoever our mystery digger is) known about the place.

Jurassic Way is 88 miles long. They'd be damned lucky to find it within the next week. Confused

I still don't think we've solved everything we need to to find it. After all, the Jurassic Way is what, 88 miles long?

So, going on Five Fingers we're looking for:

Quote:
half the world
realm
region
feature
last mystery

Jurassic Way would be the region? The feature?
The Number Strings/Letters/RNA when solved will presumably narrow it down to a location on the Jurassic Way. Maybe the name of a wood or a village?

So, given all this, any ideas where the "half the world" and "realm" answers were meant to come from?

That's really well done! The last piece - 222 covers the part going up to Scarborough.

Remember peeps, this map only shows the part of Teh W4y that travels through Northamptonshire. I think there's at least another two counties (oxfordshire and lincolnshire) at either end.

I wasn't up at 2.30 this am looking at this due to cube-buzz and howling gales. Honest!?!

Quadrupeds

I already posted this to the OB thread, but it should probably go in here instead (thanks [PCGF]Jay). Therefore sorry for the double post.

Quote:
Precious are the rubies, the diamonds, the emeralds and the topaz. I held fast to the amethysts. They mingled them with sapphires, so I threw them both from me. Only one choice remained and from then nothing was right. My children I did not despair as you must not despair. A quadruped appeared before me, its middle leg held proudly forward. I turned my back to it and strode forward, but after only 20 ammot the light was upon me. Precious, my children, is the light.

Reading all the talk of the Jurassic layer and how that neatly matches the "blobs" and the Jurassic Way could the quadruped be referring to the

Uffington White Horse?

in the Vale of White Horse: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vale_of_White_Horse which is in the Jurassic period: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Geology_of_the_British_Isles

Edit: Scrub that idea as there are clearly no large trees around there are there!

On the last page of the library of babel it says:

In the woods
You will know which path to take when you find it
If you know who I am

Also, to the right appears:

The most noble
FRB...
