This whole thing has really started to affect the way I think. Just now the postman delivered a letter (nothing related, just some NHK stuff) and I made sure I was armed with a kitchen knife before I opened the door.

I'm not this kind of person. I don't like what this is doing to me. I'm going to take a break, at least for the weekend.

Well, the videos are certainly easy to make. Random footage of floating heads along with a text wrapper, seems like the sounds are the same for each of them, so they should be easy to make. Really, only about 3-5 seconds of video for each of the new ones. But I noticed there is a quick flash of something towards the end... will try to load it up in Movie Maker and see what I can find.

Anyone notice in the email he sent he said "Hackjob Johnny presents video 5" or something like that? What happened to #4?

Also, that strange flash between the two heads disappearing and the closing text, took me a bit but I isolated it- it is a closeup of a mouth. Not sure what the significance is. Still want to reverse the audio, it sounds like it's playing backwards. Any suggestions on video editing software that will do that? Haven't found it in Microsoft Movie Maker.

Blog still the same. We'll have to see what comes of it.

Also, if you don't mind what email addy did it come from? (I'm guessing something from yahoo or hotmail) I know he said don't try to contact him there again, but the name may give us a clue.

*edit nevermind on the "Hackjob Johnny presents video five" I think he's going to post it somewhere and we have to search for that. Going to hit the usual spots and see if anything comes of it yet.

I have one more piece of information that might be interesting to anyone following this. I initially found out about all this by reading the wikipedia article on "broadcast signal intrusion". If you check the talk page history, on January 25 someone posted a summary of the "Wyoming Incident" from an IP address of 194.201.30.6, which resolves to somewhere in the UK. The information was eventually moved to the main article by a user "Nightwatch", who I don't think has anything to do with the videos. The information was later deleted by the article by somebody who identified it as an obvious hoax.

So, maybe we're getting screwed with by some Brits? Somebody pointed out that the slang on the "HappyCube" page was distinctively British.

...though I should add that although the slang is British, it doesn't explain why all locations referenced in this series are exclusively in remote areas of the U.S. and Canada. (There was the first video, in extremely remote Niobara County, Wyoming, the third video originated in Yellowknife, NWT, "CubeCon" was held in remote parts of Indiana and Tennessee, etc.)

Canada *is* part of the British Commonwealth. Of course, there could be moer than one person doing it, or they could be going through multiple ip's for some reason. (Maybe they were vacationing in England when it happened?)

MCI is the company that owns that Class 'C' subnet. Possibly a corporate office/business computer or an ISP. With IP forwarding it could be a large number of possibilities.

Interesting note- one of the ip's edits on Wikipedia links to an article about J.G. Ballard with this quote:

The music in the YOU CAN LOSE EVERYTHING video that plays over the heads and NOTHING IS PRICELESS sounds like a tampered song from the PS1 horror game Silent Hill.
