That post was from 15 January - the day she quit her job. So, she could be anywhere, now.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The tower comment on livejournal was from this morning: http://moiraangela.livejournal.com/551.html
After reading it I remembered an earlier reference to a tower on blogspot, so I looked up the entry. I do think she's still in Canberra though, at least she indicates that she is on this map: http://ljmaps.robobeasts.com/viewmap.php?user=moiraangela&map=Australasia&zoom=4

The Telstra Tower is a telecommunications tower - perhaps that's what she's referring to in her e-mails when she talks about the signal?

For what it's worth, I think that map may be the key - Megan says she's free, but it does still show her in Canberra - we should watch it to see if her location moves...

Still playing catch-up. I got my response:

Quote:
Dear Benjamin,

Thank you for mailing Cadmean Recruiting, the market leader in Canberra-based temporary
employment
and job placement services.

We've been getting quite the flood of applications from people eager to work at Vanadium
Network
Solutions. I don't understand where this drive is coming from, but I'm more than a little
curious.
I'm not supposed to go looking in our client files (that's a job for the matching
officers) but I
have to say I'm a little tempted to take a peek and see what all the fuss is about! Where
do you
live? Maybe I should drop by and check out their offices!

In any case, if you'd like to register with Cadmean Recruiting, all you need to do is
flick us a
copy of a formal resume, and we'll add it to the database and put our matching officers to
work
finding you your dream job. Remember to include your preferred username and password so
you can
check what you've entered online! If you choose a username that's already taken, we'll
let you
know and assign you a new one randomly.

Regards,

Tessa Watson
Cadmean Recruiting

Formal resume. Anyone wanna help me write it?

Heya Benjamin - here's what I put together... OH, but be more specific in your location - I got called out using a Perth street, I 'covered' myself by saying I was in a brand new apt. complex that wasn't even on the map yet Laughing

Megan updated her blogspot page. There's a youtube video there now. It's the Telstra Tower, I think. And the symbol shown is Abraxas:

I took a couple of screen captures -- well, okay, a few more than a couple, but I was intrigued by the fountain -- It's huge!

Lake Burley Griffin
Captain Cook Memorial Jet Fountain

Quote:
While running both pumps simultaneously the main jet throws approximately six tons of water into the air at any instant, reaching a maximum height of 147 metres.

The water jet operates from 10-11.45 a.m. in the morning and 2-3.45 p.m. in the afternoon. During summer it also operates for an extra period from 7-9 p.m..

So, that narrows the time of the video a bit -- if that matters at all.

tipsila, did you manage to get a screen capture of the road sign? I managed to pause on it, but I couldn't figure out how to do a screen capture. It was pretty blurry, but I'm pretty sure it said Clunies Ross St.

I sure did. It is difficult to read. We were just a bit off on the first word -- good job!

I thought it was Clunes Ross until I started to look at some maps. This one gives you a good idea of where it is compared to Black Mountain Drive, which you can see if you scroll to the left a little.

Rain And The Window

Phillip, you can't see the rain, but when he comes I'll ring a bell.

The funeral was today. It was a small service; mostly just me and the family. Aunt Sally and Uncle Rod came down from Sydney. Chase was there, and a couple of Megan's friends from school. It was a cremation; the urn went back to Mum and Dad's place. We're going to take it down to the coast place next weekend to scatter the ashes into the sea....CONTINUE

There's also a new update on Chase's blog.

Quote:
It's good to have break from all the weirdness around Phillip. You know, sometimes something happens that you can really GET BEHIND. Like watching Paris Hilton die in House of Wax.

Coming back from Civic today I had a Paris moment. By which I mean I met a hot chick on the bus. Her name is Tanya Fenworth and she's incredible. In retrospect, I can't believe I actually spoke to her. I don't often just approach random women on public transport, but she was... there's no way to describe it. I've got some sketches I managed to jot down, I'll put them up later.

On the bright side, she spoke back to me and didn't hit me with her bag and call the cops. She seemed a little preoccupied but I guess everyone has bad days at work. She must have been pretty distracted because when she got off the bus in Lyneham, she left behind this book called 'The Book of Black Magic' by, I don't know, some guy. Fucking awesome. Goth chicks are the best in bed.

The book's in my backpack. She's probably going to want it back so we'll have to meet up sometime. I'm really looking forward to seeing her again.

Now, if only I could find her! I've tried the White Pages and everything. If anyone out there in InterWeb land can help, I'll name our first kid after you. (Great, my first kid is going to be IluvJamesMarsters7987 or something like that...)

Remember, kids, helping Chase pick up is MUCH cooler than indulging a grieving guy's morbid fantasies. You should all join the fun!

Firstly: Wow, what a sensitive guy Chase is. Rolling Eyes Secondly: What a strange book to show up at this particular time. Getting Chase to look through it could help, but given his attitude about the whole thing, I doubt saying that it has to do with the Megan investigation will get him to do it. I don't have a deviantART profile so I can't comment on the blog, but I think a good way of getting him to look through it would be to suggest that looking through the book could provide him with good conversation topics when he meets up with this girl again. He can even practice by posting information from the book in his blog, to get his thoughts on them aired out, or at least to prepare stuff to say to make it sound like he's interested in the things this girl is interested in.

The goal is to see if there's any mention of Abraxas in the book. It would make sense that a book like that would have info about Abraxas, so...

I googled Tanya Fenworth and I only found a few hits, all of which were reponses to a discussion of ancient Greece and Rome.
http://mailgate.supereva.com/humanities/humanities.classics/index.html
I'm pretty sure it's her:
Quote:
The word "moira" in Ancient Greek means, more or less, "deadly fate".
This was what Hektor saw and went to meet at Akhilleus' hand in the
first known Greek text, the Iliad. Although the idea of moera is also
amusing... perhaps you should visit perseus.net or search for journals
or texts on the Fates as well as googling a few sites.

Moira Angela is Megan's blogspot name.
There's a gmail address. Should we e-mail her, or post it in Chase's blog?

I'd say it's a tricky prospect. It's entirely possible that this is an IG character, but it's also possible that it isn't. I think if we could find out where she lives, it might help. Until we can at least say she lives in Canberra, I'd say emailing or posting to Chase's blog about it might not be a good idea.

Why am I not receiving notifications of new posts? Oh, well. I found Tanya's blogspot... http://tanyafenworth.blogspot.com/

EDIT: oh, and the book that Tanya left on the bus was The Book of Black Magic: Including the Rites and Mysteries of Goetic Theurgy, Sorcery and Infernal Necromancy, By Arthur Edward Waite

She's been on blogger since January... Good enough for me. I'd say avoid emailing her just yet, but definitely give Chase a heads up to her email address.
