[SPEC] Season 2?? Blimey, I was a player in 2005, but like many stopped playing when it involved purchasing the gaming cards. Just wondering, with season 2 around the corner, is it another full game, or just a new bunch of puzzle cards to solve?
All unadulterated speculation welcome

It's been said that the cards are going to be the main part second season, nothing that involves a huge cash reward.

Also, Adrian/MC said that the cards would be more separate from the ARG element of PXC for season 2. There will be some links (I'm guessing the big story links which they get to plan since day 1 of season 2) vs numerous sets of mini-meta puzzles in the cards. MC said the main reason for separating them further is because the cards take a bloody long time to produce, that it's really not that flexible to adapt to an ever-changing ARG game environment. Mostly.
MC said this in a recent 'behind-the-scenes' chat.
Someone somewhere has the link.

It looks like there could be quite a separation between the two strands this time, more so than before. Lots of non-cardy ARGy goodness. And lots of non-ARGy cardy goodness too.

Cool, any mention of a continuation of the story, i.e. You'll have to have played/have knowledge of Season 1 to play Season 2?
2 years of catch up will be a REAL bitch
Oh and congrats on winning Andy, I'd all but forgotten about "The Cube" then saw your face smiling at me from the BBC website, which inexplicably dragged me back into the world of ARG playing. Thank you but... damn you {shakes fist} , but thank you but....

The lack of a treasure-hunt element is understandable, but is a bit of a shame; I was hoping for another reason to travel hundreds of miles led by an online international team to dig up forests in the middle of the night, with the thrill of knowing you have to hurry up because others will be there at dawn.
As rand0m suggested, it's probably one of the most memorable and enjoyable (and yes, crazy) things I've done, and unfortunately, life doesn't give you such opportunities very often!

Wow, I just realised, you two are from Edinburgh. Darn all this time and I only realise after I've moved to Belfast!
I'm making myself a PXC savings account so I don't end up spending too much on Season 2 hehe...
I've mostly been lurking in Season 1 but seeing as I have the time (being the lazy student that I am!) I'm going to get myself really into season 2.
Oh, and there's a chatlog of the web meeting that the players had with the PMs answers most of your questions.
Linky!

I believe that knowledge of the Season 1 story would be an advantage, but is far from necessary to play Season 2. Again, I think this comes from the PM chat last night.

My hottest question is: Are there going to be launch events next Thursday? I get one paid day off a year for 'work-life balance'. Attending a PXC S2 launch event sounds like a work-life balance to me.
But... I need to book it by Friday . So has anyone seen anything about launch events?

Saturday is the official "launch" event (as well as end of season 1 party).
I don't know about any unofficial events though? Anyone know?

I can understand not mixing the cards and args this time around. Who knew how Season 1 might end?
And besides, the story world has to continue realistically. I'm sure even puzzle scribes need to sell their products to make money.
However, this should give them a full season to plan a way to integrate the puzzle cards and Arg for Season 3...

Aww, I'm all disappointed now. Turns out I can't go on Saturday night.
If there's anything major, let me know, aye? I'll pay good money for things like mugs, packs of cards, stuff like that.

I've got this terrible feeling that there's going to be bonus points awarded at this party...

i quite liked the intergration of the story and the cards, even though i didnt get very far myself, im loving reading about the way different cards ended up being key (especially End of the line, being a red and all!)
