EMAIL: Dale remembers his prof's name

Raynardm at CD received this from Dale tonight:

Amanda,
Hey, how are you doing? Once again I've waited too long to get back to you, but there's just so much happening, it's hard to keep up with it all. It's funny so many people are asking me about an old college professor. I've actually been trying to remember more about my whole time in college, even though it's very hard for me, for some reason. I'm not really sure how it will help out but I'm pretty sure I've remembered his name - Professor Whiting. Boy, even typing his name out gives me a strange feeling for some reason. I haven't heard from him since college, and really have no idea if he is still alive. Sorry that's probably not much help.
I don't know about you but I'm stuck on the ALCHEMY painting page from the latest Greywethers effort. Do you know what I am talking about, the page that has the Jackson Pollock painting? There are segments on it that react to rolling your mouse over it, giving off musical tomes when you do. There is an apparent sequence to the tones, from lowest to highest pitch. So far that's gotten me nowhere though. Certain areas of the painting "light up" when you do this too, and I've been trying to make sense of them also. They are vaguely letter shaped but so far I can't work anything out from it. Let me know if you have have been working on this too.
I have to go since I have a lot of e-mails yet to write. I'm going to try very hard to stay in touch more consistently from here on, but please be
understanding if you don't get an immediate response to your e-mails.

Thanks for all your help.

Dale

Spec on Whiting

We were in chat when Ray posted this letter from Dale. We were specing on Prof Whiting and Enaxor asked if we'd heard that name before which made me think that I had. I had to search my bookmarks but I found a really interesting mention of a Whiting. Richard Whiting was the last Abbot of Glastonbury! He is mentioned on this site which I was researching as the possible Tower on the flag and in the dreams and visions of Iris and Phyllis.

http://www.pisle.com/bathweb/c-dir/backroad/glas.html

Ray found this site which describes the poor Abbot's death.

http://www.glastonburyshrine.co.uk/monks.htm

His head was stuck on a wall...eventually. They had to kill him a couple of three times first tho.

And I think the Tower at Glastonbury is 'our' tower.

Similar letter

I got a similar letter (finally, after a month of asking Dale).

So now we have a name (Whiting) and dashcat found a Richard Whiting.
I like your spec on the tower. Me thinks Dale's been a marked man from an early age.

I tried the current PSU faculty list and there is no one with that name. Maybe he's retired?

Note that when Iris was having visions related to Dales prof she saw his severed head stuck on a wall and above a doorway. Shocked

Also, when Dale was speaking about the college professor, I began to get an image of him (I guess it was him) in my mind. He at first had dark hair and cold steel blue eyes but as I watched, his hair grew silvery and his eyes became tired and aged. Suddenly, for one terrifying instant, I saw his severed head mounted above a stone archway, the same sad and tired eyes looking down at me.

I'd say there's definitely a connection.

Thoughts?

I think that he might be referring to something in his hypnosis session with Kendra. His mom wanted it to be her...What was Dale chosen for? This is my assumption

Explore these memories and experiences. Are you watching the screen, Dale? Do you see the experiences of your childhood moving there, as if it were another show put on just for you? I want you to tell me anything you see, taste, smell or feel, now, Dale. What is happening on the screen before you?
D: It's blurry and hard to see. I want to watch it, but I hear voices behind me, in the other room. They're angry and yelling. They are arguing, talking about me.
K: Who are they, Dale?
D: I, I don't ... they are my parents.
K: Where are they?
D: In the kitchen. But I hear them coming, their voices getting even louder as they approach.
K: Stay there, Dale. Relax, you are completely safe.
D: No. I'm not. I have to hide.
K: Can you see them yet?
D: I can't see anything. My eyes are closed. I'm behind the big chair. It smells of beer and cigarettes.
K: What are your parents doing?
D: I don't know! I can't see them ....
K: What are they saying?
D: My mother is crying. It's my fault, she says. I should have been the one.
K: What does she mean, Dale? Does she mean you? Or her?
D: No . . ., not her [Breathing accelerates.]
K: Dale?
D: [Screams]

Here's a possible scenario...

Dale and Sarah were brother and sister. Their "parents" were actually on some side of the Avalon War and they had to make a choice as to who was to stay and who was left behind. Sarah was the one who was chosen to stay (as identified in one of Iris' recent visions). Now if this is true it raises more questions.

If Dale wasn't left behind, how did he get back?

Who, or what, were the "parents" and what purpose would it serve to leave one of the children behind?

Thoughts?

I asked dale in an Im if he was related to Sarah . He said it was a stranged question. He said he didnt think so then he promised to tell me his unusual family history.

Age difference between Sarah and Dale seems to be too great for them to be siblings. The memories he's talking about took place in 1974, Sarah wasn't born until 1978. Dale was 19, when the Ashram raid took place.

Meaning he was already in college with Bruce. You'd think that he'd notice such a thing as his parents going poof and into thin air.

Spec: Iris mentioned

In one of her visions iris mentioned she saw Dales Parents but that after a moment they were weareing masks and appeared to be controlled through strings that led back to amystery individual.

Spec, Dale's "parents" are not his "PARENTS." SO what does that leave us with.. . one person who has paid a lot of attention to Dale is Digitalis, and funny how Wes named Sarah's statue Digitalis...

SPec, could Wes be Digitalis?

Yikes.

Digitalis has six fingers. Digitalis is a guide. All the guides have something different about their hands or arms. Dale told us this in chat after he came back from the other side. I think someone asked Sam or Dale once if Wes had six fingers. The answer was no. So I don't think Wes is Digitalis. And I don't think the statue is of Digitalis either. I don't remember ever hearing that Wes named the statue Digitalis... I thought we just started calling it that during Wes's safe combination puzzle. I could be missing the reference tho so if anyone has it could you post it?

The statue is missing at least the lower part of it's arm. If you remember Absinthe is missing his whole arm. The statue could be Absinthe or another guide whose name we don't know yet.

Give me a moment to look, I thought Phyllis called it that when she mentioned returning it to him in a letter, maybe she borrowed the name fro you guys...

One that Sunny got from Iris

Sarah was awake, holding the worn covers halfway up her face, but I could see her eyes open and peeking out. On a little table by her bed was the small statue that Wes calls Digitalis, though it was in a half-finished state.

Well, it is possible. My mom is 50 and her youngest sister is 27. Which makes me the same age as my aunt. Wink Wink

I'm pursuing this line of questioning right now folks..
I'll let you in on what I've come up with once I get some answers. All I can say for now is, if I'm right, then this ought to have some serious repercussions.

Well if Dale and Sarah are brother and sister then it seems the do come from another world. So Dale could have been brought here and grew up while Sarah stayed the same where ever she was.

So who knows if they are or not?
