I think laxon on perplexorum id'd them as "The 4 molecules are nucleotides: Adenine, Uracil, Cytosine, Guanine". I just took them as a hint that we wanted to think rna, not dna, and perhaps the order we should put them in (a=1, u=2, etc.)

If I'm right that they're just pointing us to the right kind of amino acids, then I don't think they'd actually modify the UUU... string in any way...

 		Trees
The trees look as if they may be Red Pines, which are native to North America. They're also known as Norway Pines, although they don't grow in Norway. I believe they occur mostly in the northeast US.

Also, the website http://recedaresorts.com/ has images that appear very similar to the ones in this message, as well as the image of a building. Somewhere nearby?

one last tidbit to invoke speculation before I go to sleep.

monarch butterflies have come up a couple of times in the l.o.b. site animations. so has the comment "authorship is important"

Pacific Grove is a city on Monterry Bay made famous by author John Steinbeck.

"Steinbeck heralds the strange phenomenon of the returning monarch butterflies and parodies the festivities honoring them :

There's a monarch butterfly sanctuary there (arboreal...)

 		Redwoods
the trees on the LoB home page look like redwoods. I found these pictures of redwoods on a personal photo album on the net. The person had entitled it 'Oregon Redwood Trail'. These trees look amazingly similiar to the ones on the home page. who knows the cube could even be on the Oregon Redwood Trail. Attached are the two pictures that i believe best show the similarities between the LoB trees and redwoods. P.s. If someone ends up finding the cube because of this information id appreciate a cut of the prize.

 		Two things, first, I don't get any pictures of woods or trees of the cube on mine Sad

Second, noone seems to have mentioned this anywhere but I think we now know who CT is... (well, to me it seems it can't be anyone else) it's Scarlett, am I the only one seeing this or do others?

EDIT: nvm, was looking at wrong place for pictures Embarassed

Also there are 2 separate flash files on the cube page, the text is in one and the other stuff (the images and things) are in the other.

Has anyone else noticed that the cards in the most recent flash match almost completely to those people were using with the number string stuff. i dont know the details of the number string things but i was looking in the puzzle section of the forum and noticed that the card numbers were the same. some were missing but im fairly certain all of them are the same. Is this CT telling us we missed something on those cards with all that number string business.

Also, while reading up on redwoods i found this:

I think this re-emphasises the part that the butterfly is playing. so with the importance of butterflies and the pictures of redwoods on the LoB home page i believe that 'Humboldt County, California' could be the location of the cube.

As Always if someone finds this info helpful and it helps lead them to the cube (or if someone reads this, goes to Humboldt County, California, and finds the cube) I would be very willing to liberate that someone of some of the $200000 +/- exchange rates. Very Happy Very Happy

 		Wait I've just had another theory, the third picture from the LoB home page. Maybe it's part of the shelter Julia Hill built in the tree. or maybe it's a sign of some kind as a memorial to her conservation efforts. If you see a sign on that trail to her tree you'll know your on the right track. Ok, Good night from me. It's 3 past midnight here in Australia. Cya.

EDIT: P.s. wouldn't I look like a fool if the whole place has been torn down by developers since then. Shocked

Has anyone else noticed that card 064 Hollywood Stars is the only one in the flash which doesn't have a number string on it?

Does that make this card significant in some way?

Firstly, why is #064 included this is the only one of the cards shown that doesn't have any wave 4 numbers or "blobs"?

Secondly, why these cards and not the others with number strings? All the ones shown (except #064) have the "blobs" on them. Of those not included, #058, #060, #090, #156, #203, #236 do not have blobs while #094 has a questionable blob which could be part of the design for the card. Perhaps the same could be said for #222.

Thirdly, the changes to card #029 must be important. The changing of the anagrams to give "Strata" with the initial letters, the omission of one anagram and the inclusion of Amsterdam.

Fourthly, the butterflies must be important, they have appeared in more than one of the LOB updates.

I know some of this has been mentioned before, but just wanted to pull a few thoughts together. Sorry there are more questions than answers but hopefully it will push someone in the right direction.

 		So, it's pretty obvious that the first picture is of trees (possibly redwoods), and the second picture is teh cube, covered in a tarp, and buried in the ground, but what on earth is the third image?

To me it either looks like a husk of a plant or a cocoon (another butterfly reference).

EDIT: Just a note, the image is at "theend.jpg"

EDIT 2: http://www.perplexcityacademy.com/libraryofbabel/thecube.swf does not contain the flash. Perhaps there is a more illuminating URL we need to discover...

 		Well guys, I think I may have some good news. One of my best friend's parents is a biology teacher, and she may be able to provide us a lot of insight into what this means! I'm going to show this to her and see if her knowledge can help us at all. I also e-mailed MY old biology teacher to see if he would be willing to help as well.

The bad news...my friend and his mom are probably in church right now, so it'll be a few hours until I can reach her.

So, I'll be back in a few hours with some good new info, hopefully!

 		I think the third picture shows a join on some kind of wooden structure - you can see the knots in the wood, and it's kind of cobwebby. It looks like three ends join at that point. Sort of like some of the "rustic" fences, benches and adventure playground things you get in woodland areas when they want stuff to blend in.
