Hmmm... I thought a little different.
Sente was a thought - he's in jail
Scarlett is "missing" presumed captured
How are either of these people updating the LoB site?
Unless Scarlett is part of 3P. But why help us?
But you are probably right... it's probably the flaming-red one. Tuesday will be interesting to see what we find in the Pointe.

I know it doesn't seem particularly relevant but the part that says "You will know which path to take when you find it. If you know who I am." immediately made me think of the Robert Frost poem used on Cold Fission. Specifically:
"Two roads diverged in a wood, and I -
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference."
It seems far more likely that there will be a Scarlet path or something but it just keeps nagging at me so I wanted to mention it.
The poem is one of Violet's favourites and the card author was Sente so this doesn't fit in with the inference that Scarlett is CT.
Still, feels better to have got that mentioned!

Frost did indeed live in New Hampshire, his gravesite is a scant hour and a half away from me.
If for some reason we need searchers in the NE of america, sign me up. Doubtful, since trees like that don't grow around here but who knows

I more meant that maybe when we located the woods there would be 2 paths, one more obviously popular than the other meaning we should avoid the well trodden path.
Putting these thoughts into words has made me realise MC would have to be pretty confident of the path remaining 'less travelled' since they buried the cube years in advance! That's my (admittedly lightweight) theory blown out of the water straight away then!

A friend pointed me to this DNA decoder:
http://bioinformatics.picr.man.ac.uk/bioinf/tyates.jsp?page=3
which turned the sequence into :
ERPDRKQAGNR
Which ROT-13s into:
REC QE XD NTA E
QXNTE? Looks like a certain Academy Master's name...
No, I have no idea what to do with this.

We're dealing with RNA, which could be what's causing the problem....
Anyone know of a RNA decoder?

They're the same... The only difference is that in RNA, 'U' replaces 'T'

Same friend says:
Quote:
Monarch butterflies use DNA to know where they need to go to migrate. Apparently their big migration spot is somewhere in the forests of Mexico. Could the cube be there?
Actually, QXNTE looks like it might be a clue to a Mexican placename as well...
She has this URL, in case she wants to get in to the hunt at this late hour. If not, I'll just keep posting anything she comes up with (and my own ideas, in the unlikely event I have any ).

Using this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_standard_amino_acids
I've come up with 2 strings. One is the list of letters associated with the base string we have been given.
FEMARLEMSSGQQD
The seconds is the same, but for the complement of the RNA sequence:

We actually have 6 strings, depending on the frame and direction of reading:
Frame 1, Forward: FEMARLEMSSGQQD
1, Complementary: VLLPA.HF.SGHLK
2, Forward: LRWPD.KCQAGNR
2, Complementary: SCCPLDISSLAIS
3, Forward: .DGQTRNVKRATG
3, Complementary: PVARLTFLVWPSQ
None of them ROT to anything.
Any ideas?

Sorry if this is a stupid question, I don't know much about RNA but how can the second molecule exist in the picture on page 4. There should only be one double bond coming from the top carbon, since carbon only bonds with 4 other molecules.
If that was true then you would have the 4 base molecules of RNA

Redwoods A lot has happened over the weekend!! Anyway, I did some obscure searching into Redwoods, and, this is primarily for hunters considering NE United States as the hiding place, there is a hamlet in New York named Redwood

We may also want to check up on this:

Hope this helps narrow things down, or eliminate some theories. Either way, I hope this helps.

You're right. The Cytosine molecule should not have a double bond at the top - it's a single electron shared with a Nitrogen atom.
Not sure if this is a mistake or is trying to tell us something (surely the former?)
