By the way, message ordering seems to be fixed, going newest to oldest now. Yay PMs.

Updating the wiki

Hey, could someone who is a red update the DC wiki to include the Composure puzzle and all of the other red puzzles--and please include a screen capture of the screen where you answer the puzzle (to help everyone to figure out the format they want)? I've put in a link in the unsolved puzzles section, but I haven't added that stuff because as a red, I can't actually see that and do the screen capture.

I'm going to try to go through the grey puzzles and make sure we're current on those.

It's become an issue mostly because a couple of the new game characters have contacted me about puzzles, and I've given them this forum and the wiki one to help them. I've also made sure to point out that there is a difference between what they know in game and what they know out of the game--including the terms of service link that BrianEnigma so helpfully posted. (Thanks BrianEnigma!)

Maybe we can have each person who will update that site can post here that they're doing that, so we don't have overlap. And then maybe one other person could check over what the first person posts for accuracy?

Heck, if you could do that, it would help ME, too. Having all the puzzles to reference easily at that spot makes things much easier when I'm checking on something. It's nice being able to have multiple browser pages open--then the wiki is just a click away!

I'm going to spend a few hours today writing the "Story So Far" section--what with life getting fairly busy recently, I haven't been updating the Wiki as much.

Now would be a good time to get everything squared away, while we're stuck on the current puzzles. Putting together info for the wiki has helped me figure out at least one puzzle so far (Sodality).

OUR BUG REPORTS AND OTHER CONTACT MESSAGES ARE INGAME

Just got a scary email from bug reports.

Re: my previous bug report about the message from Foo:

I jumped to conclusions. I was composing a message to another player, in which I had typed that I'd entertained a dinner guest tonight, and thought that Foo had read that message, which I had not sent. It turns out that this reference was actually to a private couple of exchanged messages from earlier in the game.

Funny the coincidences that occur in life, isn't it?

And by the way, I'm thrilled that Foo got upset about the transvestite comment. I'd hoped he would. But I assume that bug reports are not used as in-game information, correct?

We're not certain what game you're referring to. This help email is for the Deus City Temporal Interface, which you seem to be referring to ... though we can assure you, this is not a game.

Also, calling our beloved President names such as "transvestite" have been known to cause people to disappear in our time. You should be cautious.

Thanks,
The Deus City Bug Team

List of trusted agents on every page--woohoo!

I'd asked the corp about making it easier to pull up agent's names, but I'm not sure this new feature is from that, because I don't think I made a copy of the email with exactly what I said. In any case, you can now see a list of the agents you trust who are online at the moment, and we've got a new "Find Agent" feature which should be immensely helpful. And I like the restyling of the main pages for each district, too. It's nice having all that information right up front to reference.

They seem to be in the same kinda-random order that the inbox was, at first. That's a little annoying.

Out of order messages

Why don't you complain about it? Then maybe it will get fixed.

I am only showing 4 sent messages in my box. I know I've sent more than that!

Foo as a transvestite

Well, I wanted to put in something in private messaging that was so unlikely to be mentioned by anyone else that if it came up again, I'd know our messages were being monitored. I didn't figure that anyone would ever say anything like that, so I put it in a private message to a new player as a hypothetical situation. I was explaining the difference between in-game and out-of-game information, and said, "So if you found out on the unfiction forums that Foo was a transvestite, you wouldn't be able to use that in-game unless you found it out somewhere else."

And then I referred to it in a bug report in a joking way, so that I could share the joke with the PMs out of game--that was a serious mistake on my part, because I was assuming that the contact stuff was out of game. I console myself with the knowledge that we found out that this wasn't the case, but I still have no idea how Foo will react to the situation. He hasn't yet responded to my last message to him. Not surprised, as I was a little upset. Not screaming upset, more weeping upset--there are some serious medical problems with my siblings at the moment, and it hit pretty hard yesterday.

Anyway, I do have to admit that I have a very highly developed sense of the absurd. That was probably as much of it as anything else. But boy, did Foo slam me on that one.
