If anything, you've just strengthened my views. Sorry to burst your self-important bubble there girl.

I can easily substitute The beast for ILB in your case, or even 42E. Don't take something literally, when it implies alot more figuratively. I'm sure you've also read that book and understood David's meaning. You are way smarter than that.

Well, as by calling me "girl" despite a clear lack of knowledge of my age, you've deflated any pretense that you're interested in constructive discussion rather than a personal attack, I think we're done.

ok, well, maybe lost in translation?

I am French remember?

Commonly used expression in my neck of the woods. (Girl becomes Fille)

Not meant to be patronizing.

Wabonan?

Care to explain what you mean?

Quit because of the PM's? Idon't get it.

I could not handle the drama cause by the launch of DC on Unfiction. Nothing to do with the staff behind this game lol

If anything, it's personal between my opinions and the prevalent tone of Unfiction. Bottom line, it's a 'Me' issue, just don't drag the PMs into my issues please, they don't deserve that.

I could not hang, as you say. Not with the game but with other issues.

So blame me, hate me whatever....but it has nothing to do with the PM's

I don't know where you got that info.

If you read me, I explain why I came back to comment in my original post. I noticed DC was again at the center of controversy, again, after reading the ARGN page.

Would this answer your questions man?

The reason I never wrote this post back then, was because everything seemed to have settled into an uneasy truce between all parties involved, so I figured I'd shut up and just move on. Better for everyone that way Wink

But after seeing this topic in the spotlight again, I figured I'd write it now.

I didn't ditch anyone either, I made arrangements with the PM's to have somebody take over my early role in the game. Smile

Sorry about the spam, I could not edit previous post since I was posting as guest. My apologies.

I know I am not alone with these sentiments. A few others have voiced similar concerns. If these issues are not talked about, nothing can be done about them.

I care about games, I care what people think of them, I care how people play them. I may not have the best way of saying it, I tend to be brutal sometimes, I'm not very Politically Correct, I'm not perfect. I know.

This community could be the ultimate ARG resource. People here are smart, the discussion is civilized and the information is valid. I just really find that among all those good traits, theres an aura of negativism emanating from certain posters.

This discussion needs to be had in order to make this site friendlier to rookie players and PM's.

I wont hang around here any longer, I'm not wanted or needed by the community, that's fine, I didn't help my case with my writing.

But since this is other peoples minds these days, I figured I'd chime in again. I didn't speak up back then because I didn't see alot of support for my concerns, now I've seen a few new names post in this thread with the same concerns I'm giving them the support I didn't have back then.

Enjoy the rest of DC, I won't contaminate the boards any more. I've finally said what I wanted to.

Ta-Ta!

EDIT: As a piece of constructive discussion, have the mods here ever considered posting up some Postmortem documents?

In the game biz, the postmortem is used to review the development precess of a game. It is reviewed to see what went well with the development and what went wrong. It helps to avoid mistakes in the next project to be made.

It may be an interesting addition to the PM and Player Guides posted as resources here.

Let me explain why.

By putting up a PM guide, we force a set of preset ideas onto PM's. Some are universally applicable to all games, others may not.

Providing a postmortem would allow aspiring PM's to see what other published PM's went through. What worked for their concepts etc.

Both types of documents would complement each other nicely, by giving a good strong set of basic rules and offering other more off the wall solution or issues that arise during the designing and developing of a game.

Food for thought!

PS: About the age thing Phaedra, you DO have pictures of you on Flickr Wink
I also have a sword with the exact same hilt, also from a trip to Toledo.

We could probably get along.....if we were the last two people on earth...maybe Razz

Please don't leave uF. You give a different point of view for the genre. Some people are not good at reading criticism. And others are not good at typing their opinions so they look like opinions (and not criticisms). There is no voice inflection in posting.
But alternate points of view are part of what makes this community special. We don't flame, we don't beat up, we communicate.
One doesn't have to play every game (there are some that I don't even read the threads). But every once in a while something might pique your interest and I hope you will be around to participate.

Echoing kona's "we don't flame" comment, and speaking this time as a moderator rather than an opinionated player Razz (even though I'm not a mod in this forum)...

Wabonan, while I appreciate your frustration, please refrain from personal attacks like calling him a lying b*stard. Disagreeing without resorting to personally insulting people on the other side of the argument is what lets us have different opinions about games but still play them together. Smile

In addition, it violates the TOS:

TOS wrote:
As well, posts that are created for the explicit purpose of criticizing in an unconstructive or insulting manner (commonly known as "flame" posts) will come under the scrutiny of the administrators and moderators.

Thanks. Smile

Don't know where else to put this. When I log in to the Deus City interface I don't get the top row of information - News - Map - Contact - etc. Also, when I open my private messages I can't close them - the "x" at the top isn't there either. Consequently, I can't contact the site admins and tell them of the problem. I don't know if it's my computer or the site. If someone could let them know I'd appreciate it.

Thanks,
WolfHawk (aka Pam)

Hi WolfHawk,

I've contacted the admins for you. Presumably they'll reply to your email but if they send any messages through me I'll pass them on to you.

Good luck with the problem,
echidna

Hi Taureanfreak - and anyone else who's having this problem,

When I contacted the admins about WolfHawk's problem they said to 'email Chris (cfreakSPLATgmail.com) with your Operating System and Web browser information and a description of the problem and we'll take a look.'

Hope that helps,
echidna
