Developing a platform for ARGs

Hi,

We are a group of students studying at Stockholm University in Sweden doing a project that involves planning, developing, and documenting a larger project within the field of IT and Communication. The aim of the project is to develop a platform for Alternate Reality Games (ARG), focusing mainly on independent developers.

We would like you to answer the following questions to help us with this project:
a) What kind of tools do you currently use? What makes them good? Are there any downsides?
b) What functionality do you require when developing an Alternate Reality Game?
c) How do you work when developing/designing an Alternate Reality Game?
